I keep commenting on your videos but you do an outstanding job of showing everything that happens in just one day that totally throw a wrench in your plans. Having to deal with breakdowns that cause you to lose time in the field, weather etc. I appreciate your comment at the end-yes, many people who don't really know think its just sitting in the tractor and getting the job done, but that's almost the reward after dealing with all the small, sometimes big problems that are normal, yet unexpected. And trying to figure out if the tillage implement is performing as it should be can be hard. Though different parts of the country have to deal with different issues and factors, it's all hard work!!

The old farmer had a good year so he bought a corvette cause he always wanted one. Took it up on the interstate to see what it would do. 70, 80, 90, 100. Suddenly blue lights behind him. He says screw it hammer down. 110, 120, 125 blue lights still behind him. Well better stop. Trooper comes up to window, sees he’s an old guy with a new car. Says I’m about to go off my shift. If you can give me an excuse I’ve never heard I will let you go. Old farmer says years ago my wife ran off with a trooper and I thought he was bringing her back! Trooper says Have a nice day and slow down.😂

I loved the initial reason for these vids when they 1st started.. spent hours and hours watching and learning without realising even tho i live in centre of England in a concrete jungle.. but now zach gives just that and sooo much added sarcastic humour that clearly goes over lots of heads.. my favr in this is the "i like to use metric crescent wrenches when im working with hydraulics..that wasnt very tight as the ring had blown out.. lets go get this welded up .."😂😂
One of my fave youtube channels by far 😁👌

This channel reminds me of growing up in New Zealand. My MN wife was surprised we had a TV show down there dedicated to farming related news/lifestyle, and sheep dog trials. In my first teaching job, in a small rural town, I had a house next door to the small sheep farm - you never had to travel far to see farming. Congrat's on the format, it's nice to watch and see different types of jobs, your channel is really addictive.

A note about the auto steer that's probably the easiest part. But not many people know what it's like to try and fix something in a rush in the cold fingers like icicles. Trying to find a good ground on the arc welder and burn it in. I just have a massive amount of respect for family farms and farmers. As there's nothing EASY about it.

We did beans first and had a lot of running around between fields because of the weather but we got all of it. December 12th we finished cuttin corn in Brule, Nova Scotia. There were a few fields that we had to go back to a second time. Because it was too wet to get the whole field the first time. for most of the 130 acres of beans we had a auger wagon hauling to a tandem dump truck and a semi tanker to haul out to a dryer and roaster. Then for 120 acres of corn we lost the dump truck for half of it, but found 2 gravity wagon bins instead to run through a auger to a waiting live bottom truck to take it to the dryer.

Here in Southeast Missouri nobody's harvesting. They've got all the crops out of the fields. Right now it's really just no till planting or winter tillage before the ground freezes over. We still don't have any snow yet either. I get the enjoyment of taking care of horses and cows all winter. It does have its perks though. Like being able to put round bales of hay out in the field or hauling it all back to the farm.

Zack ,I liked the part about the auto steer, for people who have never farmed it is hard to know what all has to happen to make a crop. I have NOT farmed since the early 70's, so I like you shows to see the new stuff. Keep them coming, PS I started plowing on a John Deere GP Grandpaw had to spin the fly wheel to start it, pulling 2 -16's. High road gear was about 6 mph.

Zack; you're cleaning that floor the hard way. There is a much easier way of doing it.
First: attach a chain or rope onto the end of the sweep auger, so it can be held back, while it's still running.
Second: As soon as that bin is empty enough where the sweep kicks in; walk behind it with a shovel n broom and pick up that product as it goes along. You can use that chain or rope to keep it from running away on you. Clean at whatever speed you like.
3: To keep it from running away on you, make something so you can attach the other end of the rope or chain to the side of the bin. Use the bolts located all over the place.
It will turn into a one man job. And very little sweat.

Southern Illinois, crops still in the field and wet as hell. No tillage done. The sun did shine today though!

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Central New York and we still have standing corn everywhere you go, it's been either rain or snow for almost 3 months straight now, very frustrating.

Corn has been done since Thanksgiving. But the damn beans just wont dry. Still over 20% with heavy rain and snow at times. We very well could be combining on Christmas. Central Virginia

We've been done since the second week of Nov. Most of the chisel plowing is done and fall dry fertilizer has been applied and chiseled or VT'd down. Southern Indiana

Man I'm glad to see you use a metric Crescent wrench on that metric fitting. If you had use a standard Crescent wrench it would have rounded off the fitting threads.
Yes! It's a cookie sandwich. You didn't say what kind of sandwich.
    God bless.

12/22/18 - still some corn in the fields here south of Omaha NE. Mainly the "one man band" farmers. Was just way to wet of a year! Love your videos!
