      They do it on pourpose. At the end of the season review they can call out who was right. In doing so they can say "this was a 9.5 on the boldness scale," and can drive a point with how awesome and unpredictable the college football season is. Than in return they get more veiwers and they create their own clickbait.

  • @raleighsanford5111
    @raleighsanford5111 5 месяцев назад +1

    Josh, have to define better statistical season because on the graphic you showed, the argument could be made that Mertz has better stats. Mertz has a higher completion percentage and a much, much better TD/INT ratio. That one is kind of nebulous.

    I don't think Mertz vs Ward should be a 9.5, should've been no more than a 8.25 at most!

    • @jpDragna
      @jpDragna 5 месяцев назад +1

      I think his scales have just been off the charts lately. I don't know if I'm not watching enough of them, but most have been either so silly that they shouldn't even be read (Colorado to the CFP), or are like this.
      I agree I think it should be a bit lower. I still think it's unlikely to happen. Mertz is stationary, and in any other season his year over year improvements should have been staggering. But they're not just facing 8 ranked opponents, most of them are there because of their defense. Ward statistically is already ahead of Mertz, is going to potentially have year over year increases like Mertz, but is going to an offense that averages 20 points better in PFF offensive line grades than the one he's coming from. I think the one thing that might be in Mertz's favor is he's losing Etienne, and Ward is getting Martinez. I'd put this one at a 7 solely because of that. Miami's schedule is much MUCH easier, Ward's cast around him is a huge talent upgrade, but that could mean Mertz is relied on more and pulls out higher stats.

    I was going to call BS on a 9+ on B1G having more teams in the final four, but seeding was definitely something I hadn't considered. I imagine Sankey...pardon sorry I imagine the CFP committee, definitely *not* Sankey, is going to figure out a way to create the easiest path forward for SEC teams. They have already proved they'll do whatever it takes, unprecedented things, to get the SEC representation, even in years where other conferences have to miss out. If there were 12 last year I have no doubt in my mind they would have figured out a way to justify Georgia in 5th so that they faced Liberty.

    • @jayfizz9884
      @jayfizz9884 5 месяцев назад

      Why would they need to justify Ga at 5? They lost 1 game by 3 points they were clearly top 4...

  • @Bask3tChase
    @Bask3tChase 5 месяцев назад

    If Brock Bowers had stayed healthy, he more than likely would have won the Heismen last year, so while I understand it’s rare, I don’t think the idea of a non QB winning heisman is that mind boggling of a concept.

    What's crazy is if waddle never gets hurt Mac Jones would have a Heisman because he would have took yards and TDs away from Smitty

      That team with Waddle and Dickerson is the greatest team ever. Lots of people talking about LSU. Let’s say they lose Jamaar Chase midyear and then lose their center in the SEC title.
