- The tax regime is highly complicated, focusing only on revenues. The revenues are primarily driven through indirect taxation and an expanding withholding regime, and the tax net remains relatively narrow.
Repeated tax breaks, amnesties, and subsidies are counter-productive in revenue collection but also, more importantly, in achieving economic efficiency.
Pakistan's fiscal challenges are gigantic, yet so little revenue. Why?
How is the taxation of real estate distorting the investment climate?
Challenges of agriculture income taxation and the way forward?
How to effectively tax wholesale and retail trade?
How can we engage more researchers and academia for evidence-based policy-making?

Please again podcast with shabbar zaidi sir
Please improve voice quality in future discussions. It is echoing badly.
Already taxes are high in real estate in Pakistan. If government puts more taxes, I believe it's better to invest in foreign countries real estate where returns are better with less taxes. In Pakistan you only pay tax with low returns.
how we can participate in such sessions?

Voice issue in all #EcoFest videos...
Yes, mostly.
I wish the recording of the event was professional. Audio with constant echo is just horrible. What a waste of time of such talented guests
