I love this song, in partcular, and all of Innocence Mission's songs. This is the most underrated band of all times. But maybe that's exactly their power. So subtle, so powerful. Saw them 20 years ago in Baltimore. My husband said: you and your "la-di-da" music.... guess what? Still got the husband, and still love Innocence Mission, ha!
Karen is a relative of mine in a lot of her music is written about me and my daughter I found out 10 years ago that I'm mother God they are an extremely beautiful couple
Simply beautiful....not only Karen...but, of course, the song, the recording, the hand painted piano (I assume by Karen since she produces the album artwork of late). I love the line when she sings: " My Father was there" because my Mom passed away last month and I know her Dad did a few years back...so I relate to it.
I thought that i would get used to this band and their music. I never did. It's just as wonderfull now as when i first heard them. Your heart can be more full than you can imagine.
I have loved this group since the album "Umbrella", and I thank the majestic voice of Ms. Karen Peris for so many times, having lifted this self from momentum's of depression. XXX
Love the video. A long time ago I would tell people that I thought Karen's voice is what an angel's voice would sound like. I still believe that to be true.
this si stunning in its simplicity and beauty, it is sublime, and rare, thank god there are people like this able to catch and express, the sound of that rarest of all... emotion and love
This song affects and moves me like no other. I’m not a brilliant pianist or singer but I have to record a cover of this song, does anyone know the chords or how/where I can get sheet music for these astonishing subtle heart-felt notes Karen is playing? I could try to work them out but I fear I’d do the song an injustice.. Thank you so much for this gentle life giving song.
i dont know how you do it... the vision of innocence with the vocabulary of a scholar... timing and rythym.... perfection. I love you.
Michael McKinley one of the best comments ever.... you captured her perfectly 🕊🎶🌷

It’s as if I’ve never not known this song and this lovely fam of Karen and Don, jaw dropping beauty in this song. Feels like a memory, it is a memory.
Exquisite. Still one of my favorites of yours after all these years.
They never fail to impress me... after all these years they still manage to strike the correct heart_chord and rim my eyes with a tear or two.

Scott Michael This is nice to hear Scott. depression gets the most of us. Keep listening! It is the leader's light through the damp.

Just curious.....what do you see at 1:54....?? Cheers 🙂
You probably already know this, but their first album actually came out in 1986, their 2nd in 1989. wikipedia or g/wiki/Tending_the_Rose_Garden
They're so unfairly underrated it bugs the hell out of me.
Stay calm...we can all use that advice
I'm friends with Don on Facebook :) :) :) :)
Reminds me of Amelie
