- I often recommend finding an inexpensive used scroll saw for people who want to get into the craft. I also frequently suggest using poplar wood from big box stores and doing segmentation projects as skill builders. Today I'll take you through a segmentation project using poplar on a $40 scroll saw.

Thanks for your advise 🙏
This gives me a little confidence to give segmentation a try on my cheap Scappach scroll saw. Thank you.
You can definitely do it. Segmentation is more about the shaping and as long as you do your best to keep the blade square to the table you should keep a good fit. Good luck!
@@ScrollSawCorner How kind of you to reply so quickly. Did you design the pug yourself or is it a download? I have subscribed.
@@lesleywall4186 thanks for subscribing. I believe I adapted it from a larger pattern but I can't recall.
Thank you sir, thats amazing channel! Thank you so much for sharing!
Glad you enjoy it!
Good work. Keep em coming. #teamscrollsaw
Planning on it! Weekly videos with a focus on the scroll saw. Thanks for watching!
very nice............
Thank you for watching!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I would like to attempt this as my first project, where can I find that pattern?
Magnificent work! If you don't mind me asking what type of blade did you use for that type of wood?
Thanks, Judith. I can't recall what type of blade I used for this one. I believe I had a bunch of random blades that came with the saw. Blade isn't super important for a segmentation project like this because there were not any inside cuts or really tight curves. It was probably a #5 or #7 pinned blade with no reverse or skip teeth.
Thanks for the video. I bought a $60 saw that uses pin blades. Can you recommend the blade you used in this video? X
