      @@Back_door_bandit_98 Right and that's because 5 months ago we were still in phase of the pandemic where most people were staying home and not buying fuel. It's basic economics; supply and demand. When demand falls and supply remains, prices fall. When demand is up and supply falls or remains the same, prices go up. But I get it, you want to blame it all on Biden. Go back and look at fuel prices during Trump's time in the WH and, if you ignore the time of the pandemic, you'll see that fuel prices have roughly remained the same when considering for inflation.

But all in all it's not half bad for the look and feel of being on 35"s with a borla exhaust making some noise out back. Need to do the actual math though because that's what the computer reads and I'm not sure about the effect on mpg with 4 inch larger tires. The truck is going a bit faster than the speedo reads. So I dont know if the ecu knows to correct for that or not. I imagine not.

Ok you ask how , I drive 55/60 in the city and 60-65 highway . I also do not stomp the gas every time I take off . How you drive makes the difference in the silverados .

    • @CustomOffsetsTV
      @CustomOffsetsTV  3 года назад

      Ton of factors can go into fuel economy, how you drive, hills, start stop, stop n go traffic etc!

    • @adamedwards4305
      @adamedwards4305 3 года назад

      Tires - less aggressive tread, lighter weight (no LT), slimmer width are all things that help.
      Gear ratio - if you change the tire size, do the math to find the correct ratio. Too high and you're spinning the engine faster, too low and you're requiring more engine torque = more fuel to move the truck.
      Airflow - try to avoid trimming wheel wells or removing air dams, and don't squat your truck.
      Performance exhaust and cold air intake can give you a bump as well. And then just keep up with your maintenance. Fluids, filters etc all have an impact on efficiency.

      That does sound low for a V6. That's about the same city mileage I get out of my mostly stock 01 F-150 with the 5.4 V8, but that's because most of the time, I drive like a sane person, especially since gas prices have spiked in the last few months.

      @@southga4655 2020 chevys naturally sit higher than 2017s. They also went back to the round wheel well so you’re able to fit that large of a tire with a 3.5 lift. I’m with you on that though, I can’t stand spacing between tires and the truck. It doesn’t look too bad, but I could probably go 37s if I did more trimming and a NorCal mod. But I really don’t want to have to cut and hammer medal so I’ll probably just leave it as is now.
