I've gone this route as well. Although I went to level 4 Paladin and used the head piece to get 17 int and kept charisma at 16. It's working well so far.
My first build ever was a Fire-Based Paladin, but swap out Wizard with Draconic Sorcerer. You get Metamagic, Charisma synergy, and Elemental Affinity at 6 instead of needing 10 in Wizards for Empowered Envocation. Frees you up to put 5 levels into Paladin for an extra attack at close range. I also recommend Devotion instead of Vengeance since it gives you Sacred Weapon allowing you add your Charisma to melee attacks.
In Act 2 keep an eye out for the Thermoarcanic Gloves for Heat Convergence & Drakethroat Glaive for a buff to your Breath attack. If Dammon survived you should also pick up the Flawed Helldusk set, Thermodynamo Axe, & Orthon Explosives. The armor & weapon will later be replaced in Act 3 when you collect the full Helldusk Set & Hellfire Greataxe, but that's almost end game.
Heat:
Cinder Shoes: Burn an enemy, +2 turns
Thermodynamo Axe/Hellfire Greataxe: damage with weapon, +2 turns
Ring of Self Immolation: as a bonus action, +2 turns (short rest)

Necklace of Elemental Augmentation: +Spellcasting modifier to damage dealt w/ elemental cantrips

Ring of Elementa Infusion: Deal fire damage with spell or cantrip, +1d4 fire damage with next weapon attack
(Flawed) Helldusk Gloves: +1d4(6) fire damage w/ weapon attacks
Thermodynamo Axe/Hellfire Greataxe: +1d4(6) fire damage w/ weapon attacks
+ Heat Convergence: consumes all remaining turns of Heat to deal extra Fire damage on their next spell or attack.

What about doing one based off of Joe Manganiello's character Arkhan the Cruel? Maybe a Dragonborn Paladin mixed with a Cleric of Tiamat for starters. Just a thought.
You could dump strength and change a feat to druid initiate to use intelligence for melee Weapon attacks with markoheshkir. Then either go with a shield to boost ac or take dual wielder as well to use something like the spell sparkler or incandescent staff
Scorching ray would be great on this build. Optional is the hat of fire acuity, the best reason not to use it is that it's too good
I have fantasized a character; it’s an assassin, but one that can fight upfront, like Assassin’s Creed.
Plus he has fire power, I imagined someone that doesn’t become angry quick, but when he rages, he goes crazy with fire 🔥 ☄️

I did something similar with a gold dragonborn paladin
dragon sorcerer . And in my own head canon lore for him hes a paladin of bahamut the platinum dragon god of justice
what does being a paladin even have to do with being a wizard? if you have to be a paladin why not use sorcerer subclass to make the charisma mod actually stack? why not mention the strange ox hat in a fire based spellcasting build?
Because when you use your breath with a palorceres, you cant scream , gooo Palazard use flametrower!!!!!

Take sorcerer instead of wizard would be better, they have the same spell modifier (charisma), the same spells. Just, your friends are gonna burn a little bit, but well... FIREBALL !

I don't quite get it. Why going paladin at all? You are not using the smites and your charisma is at ten. Go sorcerer 6, draconic bloodline, and you will get a huge boon to your fire spells.
just wanted to make a paladin + wizard build. kinda going down a list of combinations and building from there outside of our 'themed' builds.

These builds feel less like builds and more like gimmicks

Yes, if you don't want for the extra AC from Defence and Heavy Armour you can drop those two levels into Storm Sorcerer for flight after you cast leveled spells.
What is the point though? Your not really utilizing your smite alot going Evo and pure wizard
You still get heavy armour + Defence, so high AC for a Wizard.
Most spellcasting classes have a lot of options, Searing Smite is just another option. Decent Strength you can boost higher with elixirs, thermodynamic or hellfire axe, plus the other equipment we recommend in the discord make this a really fun build.
Am I the only one that though a palizard was a paladin lizard?

You can't be a paladin at all if you go to level 12 in another class. It only goes to level 12 so the name of this doesn't make any sense
Be Paladin for two levels, then enroll in Wizarding classes until level 12. We sequentially described this.

You can, but we just released a Psionic Sorcerer build that was 2Paladin/10Sorcerer. This build is 2Paladin/10Wizard.
Sorcerer does not get sculpt spells.

@CurlyTheIV So Raphael, the Soul Pillars, and Yurgir(potentially not even there) are the things with fire immunity in HoH. Which you're right, Elemental Adept does not assist with. But, Korilla and the 6 Vengful Cambions will be cooked.
Just have to lay into Raphael with your other party members while you sculpt spell Fireballs to melt the adds.
@@grindgod847 oh yeah there you do have a point, usually I just cheat the fight by standing in a globe of invulnerability and bombard them all with aoe spells and sheer luck lol
