makeupbyleyla I know there are a ton of these on youtube, but I need a liquid eye liner tutorial because my line never looks right. It's always kind of shaky and I have slightly hooded eyes, so if I have to even it out and make it thicker you can't even see the eye shadow on my mobile lid. Also, I'd love a tutorial on how to use liner to make your eyes look larger using eye liner (pencil, preferably - I'm much better with eye liner pencil).
A tutorial on how to thicken (make them wider, not end to end, but height-wise - if that makes sense) your eyebrows w/o them looking unnatural and drawn on would be amazing. My eyebrows are kind of thin even though I've never plucked them and I'd like them to look more full and thick. :)

    so my blending techniques are.
i find that starting with a brow highlight helps the crease color blend north and keep the dark color from getting too high.
i like a fluffier brush in the crease for the "transition" shade something i can rock back and forth and "blow" color out. i just follow the natural crease and the right shape brush should do all the work.
i find that applying the product where you want the darkest most concentrated amount of color then blending it inward vs outward helps the color blend without expanding helps too.
i also find that going back and forth with brushes and different shades you lose depth and colors just look muddy.
always do a matte shade one or two shades darker then your skin in your crease will change your life.
    hopes this help.
xoxo from a Urban Decay National Artist

unichua Thank you so much!! I'm a beginner- how do you do a lower lash line without it looking like a harsh line (but then again also not blending it down too far)? And also, ( 13:20 ) when I do the circular motion in one place, it ALWAYS looks so patchy! Like there's just one big patch at the outer corner of my eye. Please help?? Sorry

I really love this!! I just recently learned that I need to have a transition shadow in order for my eyeshadows to blend into each other. I always hear well known 'famous' make up artist tell everyone "blend, blend, blend" but what they fail to mention is how. They also always tell us what brush they are using but never why they are using it. Thank you so much!!

Turquoise Champaigne talk thrus are helpful that’s how people learn silly🤪 what I hate is the beauty gurus and their movie majic- they tell you (they are blending it out with a large fluffy brush😂😂) but anybody that knows anything about blending you know when the product is not going to move and then they cut to the next scene and it’s like night and day well they’re not going to give you the secret sauce of what they really did behind the scenes but I can assure you they did not blend it out with that large fluffy brush😂😂 THATS WHAT I HATE And the bigger the guru the more movie magic

the biggest mistake I realized I was making in the past was going in with too much pigmented shadow at a time, and being either muddiness or patchiness. if you're just starting, I recommend going with a less pigmented but still quality shadow formula. I like elf's mad for matte palette, or coastal scents or MUG singles. then go in with a little at a time, blending as you go until you reach desired intensity. my two cents lol

Clearly I'm late as eff to the party but I'm SOOO glad I found you and your channel!! This video was so informative and what I have been looking for in "how to" videos. THANK YOU. My number one "complaint" or more like disappointment in how to videos is they still assume we know more than we do. I'm sure this has to do more with how long the video is but why waste the time in making a video at all if it doesn't help, right? Anywho, this was so helpful and explained so much more than any other one I have seen. The next logical step is to hit subscribe and start binge watching your videos so I'm gonna go get on that lol. Thank you again for actually taking the time to explain to someone like me who has zero base knowledge... just self taught stuff that isn't pro in the least.

nice tutorial. i always have problems blending. ladies if you are vegan or believe in cruelty free products, NYX, Urban Decay, Hard Candy, Wet n Wild have nice eye shadow primers cruelty free. Vanity doesn't come before cruelty to helpless voiceless animals. MAC, Estee Lauder, Maybelline, Rimmel, L'oreal are not cruelty free. Plus Makeup brushes are made from animal hair and other stuff. I bought cruelty free brushes from Morphe. there are countless others. please no one be offended. I am trying to get the message out, it's my job and I love all living things and try to love all people.

Hilda Padron yes my dear and Bobbi brown Sonia kashuk sorry If I spelled that wrong, it's quite a big list I'm really surprised. Cover Girl, and Revlon, Almay, Aussie, Neutrogena, Pantene, Garnier. But I have found some really nice affordable makeup and products. If you go on Pintrest and type in cruelty free, and then non cruelty free they give nice long lists of both and pics. I'm still learning about them. I have volunteered trying makeup for upcoming brands or brands trying to go cruelty free. it's a risk but no problems yet lol.

this is a really nice video. I'm definitely no beginner, I've been doing makeup for around 20 years, so I definitely know what I'm doing, but a lot of people out there don't. I have a friend that I'm teaching, and knowing how to exposing things has been hard, so I do love that you did this video, because I've told her to watch youtube and figure some of it out, but on youtube, most of the videos are "put this color here and this there" and they're showing the color, and they show the beginning stages of the color starting to show up, and after its been blended, but there's no clips of the real blending time in between, the hard work that it takes, and it just makes it almost like it's a really easy thing, and of course it is to us, but it isn't too a beginner that has no idea where to start, or what brush to use that will work best for the placement or blending, or even the brush that works best for pigmentation, and then they struggle trying to get pigmentation and a good blend. So wonderful idea, and great job! I also decided that maybe I'd watch it and see if there are any tips I could Bemidji from, because everyone has different tricks up their sleeves. :) XOXO

First of all great job! you did not talk to much and to those who says she did your just mean people who are stuck on your self. I personally appreciate her explaining how to blend instead of just doing it and assuming everybody knows how.

I have been watching 50+ hours plus of very good quality teaching videos but this is the best concentrating on blending only. Am currently in a phase of practicing and now it's the weekend so that's what I'll be doing tomorrow and Sunday. Cheers

First, thank you so much for the detailed step by step instructions. So many other RUclips makeup artists or tutorials assume that the viewer knows how to do a particular step, this is not the case!!! You are gorgeous and I love the tips, will be practicing, practicing! --New Fan!

I really enjoyed this video because it actually teaches how to blend. I know I need a lot more practise but there were a lot of useful tips, and you really proved yourself because your demonstration did as you described. I would love to sleep a video on applying hot-pink/fuchsia pink blush that is properly blended on the cheek. I would also love to see a purple version of this eye makeup.

Leyla, thank you so much for this! I'm 52 (yep, old people want to look pretty, too). I had given up on the gorgeous blended eye looks I saw on others because it always looked "muddy" when I tried. Now I know why. Your tutorial was well done, detailed and specific. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Is "base" another word for foundation or what? Also is there a tip to tell me if my makeup doesn't look good as I thought? Sadly I usually haven't noticed till sooo much later🙈🐹 (in pics) that I wasn't wearing my color foundation correct or shadows were BADLY blended or something. What sucks is nobody told me my makeup wasn't boss.😳🙀

    • @skylaann6536

base for face is another word for foundation, but for eyes its like a primer. and i used to have this problem too lol. but ALWAYS use natural light to check your makeup. saved me.
