100%. The whole of his menswear era got swallowed up by his women’s collection. A very underrated piece of work. Perhaps because it is not that dramatic in presentation. I feel confused by commentary on wearability. No one has come close to replicating his vision today and yet there is such a good blend of familiar and unfamiliar.
As a budding fashion designer, i think this is the collection that showed me best how to "tell a story" with clothing. Since I was aware of the reference material it was easier to see the "adaptation" McQueen presents. :D
The more I study his collections, the more I notice that the absence of sound in these runway videos is in tribute to Lee McQueen. “Moments of silence”. Post 2011, you’d hear sounds

ARE ACTORS IN A PLAY OR SOMETHING.
