You must have some great memories of the place, it’s pretty much all been demolished now, possibly another month or so of demolition as it’s all by hand now being right next to the railway line
When will people take their blinkers off and take a look at the bigger picture? Look at the motive in place for the buildings deterioration and demolition. The site has long been planned for a new transport hub. The people who wanted that transport hub are...?
In 1976 whilst working at the County Hotel Wellington Square Ayr I got my first ever pay packet and amongst other things had my first ever paid for meal at the Station Hotel Omelette and chips because I had pissed nearly all my pay heck up the urinal wall and it was all I could afford. Now in London I pay £65 for a Dover Sole
Brilliantly captured. It's such a shame to see it being torn down. Thanks for sharing 👏
Very kind of you, many thanks
Sad to see it go. I worked there for a little while when I was a student in Ayr. It’s a beautiful building. Thanks for posting.

Great work. Is it a total demolition project or is there plans to salvage what’s left (which does not appear to be a lot)
Any plans for the site?
A new bus & train hub has been mentioned, as has new housing and shops, nothing definitive yet though.
greetings- you shared top content-
Thank you ☺️
When will the Malaysian owner be getting the bill for the damage he has caused?
It would be great to hear his side of the story

@@andrewsmith-cm9qw great memory
It’s sad when people set old buildings on fire for no reason
Absolutely, no reason to have done this
I remember staying there back in 1979 shame it's will soon be history
Good to see it go. It passed the point of return many years ago. The choice was - derelict building or operating railway.
Agreed, it was such an eyesore for locals and visitors
Really sad to see this but I suppose it had to happen😞
It is still going on, I think a few weeks more of the demolition work will be carried out
