I´ve watched this performance of Amira, I think more than 100 times (since 2013 when I discovered her) and it still amazes me her beautiful pure voice! And she improved a lot since! Today she is a great professional and philanthropist!!!
this young lady lives up to her name, which means princess. she will be 15 this year and is now one the worlds most beautiful sopranos. one her latest songs is "Gabriella's Song" which she sings in Swedish. by the way Amira's audiences can be as big as 10,000 plus (Andre Rieu in Mastrich) or Classics is Groot where at the age of 12 she sang her finest version of "O' Mio Babbino Caro" enjoy! she will enchant you.
A lot of the other contestants, in these kinds of shows, could learn something from Amira. She hooked the audience and judges with that big beautiful smile before she even sung a note. Then gives a powerful performance and finishes off with that smile and wave again. Even if you a good voice, you will not win with a negative attitude.
What characterises Amira is an enormous strength of purpose; what she sets out to do, she does, and it does not matter how long it takes. You can see this in the videos of her early running; they show a great pack of children, with a relatively tiny Amira - fully airborne - in front, and a look of ferocious determination on her face (she won, every time - but after she won HGT, the paparazzi started hounding her, so she switched to something more private. But since she moved to South Africa, she's running 10 Km every day). I have never come across anybody so intensely focused. She is highly intelligent, has a wicked sense of humour, which shows in some of her videos, and does not know the meaning of fear. These attributes give her a quite astonishing stage presence; and the running taught her diaphragm breathing at an early age. The incredible performances at HGT are the result of two years of her self-education in the art of opera singing; her mother grew accustomed to hearing operatic singing coming from Amira's bedroom, but put it down to her watching RUclips; it was quite a surprise when she discovered that she was hearing her daughter singing . . .
I'm not too much into opera, but the first time I heard Amira sing, I was completely blown away!!!! She's 9 years old! I was still contemplating how to tie my shoes correctly at 9, and she's slaying an operatic masterpeiece like it's nothing. One of the amazing things about this young lady is that she's already launched her own charity to provide play equipment for underprivileged children in the townships.

Her last performance with them was "Lexus Classics 2018" which was recorded in July 2018 (NOT April) and released on DVD in October 2018. Three songs from that DVD have been released in non-HD quality for advertising purposes starting in January 2019; they used Amira's performances to advertise the forthcoming "Classics 2019". We have only "pirate" cell 'phone quality recordings of her more recent performances so far, but better-quality recordings can be expected in due course. These cell 'phone recordings indicate that she was singing somewhat "throttled back" during her pubescent voice change; but she is no longer so constrained. Just one week ago she recorded her first e-concert. She isn’t any longer w/us.She had a miracle voice-she was singing in 4 octaves,very strong and clean voice.She was singing in “Olimpia Paris” /France late 60’s and had 3years contract in one of hotels in Las Vegas -was singing there also w/Frank Sinatra.Communists in Poland have finished her career. Some recent post make me think it's temporary. Haven't found anyone with the ability to discuss it civilly. With more knowledge than I. I have experience in playing horn in f and b flat trigger. Also e flat alto but not in voice.

Could be under her maiden name “Czeslawa Cieslak”.”Violetta Villas” is her artistic name,which she took when she started her artistic career as a teen or already she was about 20 years old at that time and manager/s advised her that will be better for her to do so to her future career and fame.Mainly on YT there is a lot of info about her as “Violetta Villas”- her performance, her history.Only problem is that all in Polish language,for Polish people only.She was a prime lady in Poland about looking,singing all those years 60’s,70’s.In 80’s she mostly was touring in the western countries performing for Polish people only.She has quit her further western career after contract in Las Vegas ended.She has said that the way they wanted her to be in the business/doing career on higher and higher level,she would have to be a (....?)....sell her soul and body (if You know what I mean). She didn’t take it and this was the end of her career in the western world,only on low level,just to survive.Came back to Poland and the communists wanted her to be a confident in her world,she didn’t take it ether.So,she was over generally w/her career.After communism ended she came back and was concerting for few years. Nice reaction ..She went on to win ...She has developed into a wonderful opera singer now doing crossover songs .She has sung with some of the big names in opera and moved to south Africa with her mother .She only performs a few concerts per year but has several albums out as well ,She is still at school and is an accomplished distance runner ..Cheers
Amira joined up with Alma Deutscher twice, once in Switzerland and then England to sing a short duet from Alma's opera Cinderella for charity concerts. Apart from their talent, you can be blown over by their personalities.
I watched a lot of Amira's videos a few years ago and was struck with her talent. She has a lovely voice and in interviews seems a charming young girl. I need to catch up and see what she has grown into!

Yes that was an amazing year, the one that brought us both Amira and Angelina. She wasn't kidding about the running part either. She was still at that time a VERY fierce cross country runner for her age too. (,and yes that one question from one of the hosts was a bit on the rude side.) Both Amira and Angelina have big hearts too. Amira ended up using a good portion of her money to help build playgrounds in South Africa in areas where those sorts of things are not as common. She even has a fund made in her name to keep projects like that happening. Angelina has the story of her performing without shoes that she turned into a published children's book. (with some help from one of her grandmas) :D
Hi Sandy. I just knew you would be blown away by Amira. Amira I believe is 15 years. When I listen to Amira, I am always brought to tears when I listen to her. For me amira is the best soprano singer ever. What Amira also does is donate proceeds to children in south Africa who are less fortunate than her. If ever there was an angel, Amira is one.
Amira is eithr 14 or 15 now. My personal favorites are of this song she performed with Andre Rieu in front of 15,000 people, and Amazing Grace when she was 13 I think (I cry every time I listen)
She is now 14 and many, including professional musicians and opera singers, say she may have the finest voice on earth. Listen to sing "Amazing Grace", "O Sole Mio" and "Your Love" and you will understand what they mean. That last song is the lyric version of Ennio Morricone's theme for the film "Once Upon A Time In The West". She now lives in South Africa and has become a good friend of another child you know about Alma Deutscher.

I have a small collection of CD's with such artistes as Tiri Te Kanawam Joan Sutherland, Elizabeth Garrett, Katherine Jenkins and even Maria Callas and none, and I mean none, have the perfection in tone that Amira has. Technically they may be better, after all they are all seasoned and long standing classical/opera singers, Amira is still a child. But in pure tone they cannot match her. My humble opinion she has the worlds most beautiful voice.

I am so happy you brought attention to this perfect voice. Another special child prodigy I hope you review is the lovely Jackie Evancho. She was runner-up on AGT at age 10; sang for leaders worldwide; has released platnum selling albums, and is currently 20, living in New York with eyes on Broadway. Jackie also starred alongside Robert Redford in the movie The Company You Keep. Unfortunately child talent seems to move to YT Archives once they turn 18. I'm hoping that doesn't happen with Amira, Courtney Hadwin or Angelina Jordan--all not far away from 18 and still at the top of the game.

Look first at Babbino with Andre Rieu - just 10 and 15000 people gave standing ovation - then look at Babbino CIG 2016, follow this with Babbino at Reykjavik finally Babbino / Your Love at max proms. Amira is now still just 15. Much more to look at but it would be very interesting to hear your opinion as to her progress singing from 9 to 14 with this one song which I think it is phenomenal. Also Petra`s reaction of Gabriella`s song is worth a look at as you are in the business of doing them. She gets standing ovations all the time. This year many concerts first with Helmut Lotti and one possibly with Andre Bocelli so keep your eye on this fast moving ball. Are you American ? If so spread the word! Don't seem to see many Americans posting their views.

I was hoping you’d do a double video comparing her first performance of O Mio Babbino Caro with a more recent performance. You’d think the first one can’t be improved upon until you hear a later rendition. With some of the money she earned at Holland’s Got Talent plus other performances, Amira has created a foundation that builds children’s playgrounds in poor areas of South Africa. She set the bar incredibly high for herself here and has not looked back. It's the version of "Ave Maria" attributed to Vladimir Vavilov. There's a background to this video, which shows her riding in Vienna in a Fiacre (form of horse-drawn carriage); it was bitterly cold, and the camera man was saying to her "don't look cold" - and she was having the utmost difficulty in not laughing. Amira celebrated her 16th birthday on 27 march, 2020. she lives, with her mother and brother in south africa (last four years). she has been concentrating on her schooling and her athletics and recently won her event (2000 m steeplechase) in the sa schools provincial meeting and will now represent her province at the s schools national championship (hopefully wont be affected by the covid 19 lock down).. she still has the dream of being an olympic athlete, as well as the worls finest soprano singer... she is still as humble and down to earth as ever... she also had quite a bit planned, musically for 2020, but it has all been affected by the covid 19

Little did these judges realize they were witnessing the beginning of a child prodigy. She now writes opera and writes for the whole orchestra, also she plays classical piano and plays classical violin. She is adorable and so sweet. God bless her.

I don't remember when, but there is an interview, where's she says that her vibrato comes naturally, kind effortless to sing. The rest was only memorise the lyrics.
in case you were unaware , she was serious about the olympic dream. She had competed and won against and children two to three years older than her in marathons when she was in Holland. I think she still runs in any spare time she gets.

western career after contract in Las Vegas ended.She has said that the way they wanted her to be in the
business/doing career on higher and higher level,she would have to
be a (....?)....sell her soul and body

She didn’t take it and this was the end of her career in the western world,only on low level,just to survive.Came back to Poland and
the communists wanted her to be a
confident in her world,she didn’t take it ether.So,she was over generally w/her career.After communism ended she came back
and was concerting for few years.
Than,after mid-90’s all was over for
her and in 2011she died of this abandoned.Very sad 😢 but truth.

Amira joined up with Alma Deutscher twice, once in Switzerland and then England to sing a short duet from Alma's opera Cinderella for charity concerts. Apart from their talent, you can be blown over by their personalities.
I watched a lot of Amira's videos a few years ago and was struck with her talent. She has a lovely voice and in interviews seems a charming young girl.
I need to catch up and see what she has grown into!

I very often think of the three great when it comes to young voices of today. Amira, Angelina and Grace.
Yes that was an amazing year, the one that brought us both Amira and Angelina.
She wasn't kidding about the running part either. She was still at that time a VERY fierce cross country runner for her age too.
(,and yes that one question from one of the hosts was a bit on the rude side.)
Both Amira and Angelina have big hearts too. Amira ended up using a good portion of her money to help build playgrounds in South Africa in areas where those sorts of things are not as common. She even has a fund made in her name to keep projects like that happening. Angelina has the story of her performing without shoes that she turned into a published children's book. (with some help from one of her grandmas) :D

Hi Sandy. I just knew you would be blown away by Amira. Amira I believe is 15 years. When I listen to Amira, I am always brought to tears when I listen to her. For me amira is the best soprano singer ever. What Amira also does is donate proceeds to children in south Africa who are less fortunate than her. If ever there was an angel, Amira is one.
Amira is eithr 14 or 15 now. My personal favorites are of this song she performed with Andre Rieu in front of 15,000 people, and Amazing Grace when she was 13 I think (I cry every time I listen)

She is now 14 and many, including professional musicians and opera singers, say she may have the finest voice on earth. Listen to sing "Amazing Grace", "O Sole Mio" and "Your Love" and you will understand what they mean. That last song is the lyric version of Ennio Morricone's theme for the film "Once Upon A Time In The West".
She now lives in South Africa and has become a good friend of another child you know about Alma Deutscher.

I have a small collection of CD's with such artistes as Tiri Te Kanawam Joan Sutherland, Elizabeth Garrett, Katherine Jenkins and even Maria Callas and none, and I mean none, have the perfection in tone that Amira has. Technically they may be better, after all they are all seasoned and long standing classical/opera singers, Amira is still a child. But in pure tone they cannot match her. My humble opinion she has the worlds most beautiful voice.

I am so happy you brought attention to this perfect voice. Another special child prodigy I hope you review is the lovely Jackie Evancho. She was runner-up on AGT at age 10; sang for leaders worldwide; has released platnum selling albums, and is currently 20, living in New York with eyes on Broadway. Jackie also starred alongside Robert Redford in the movie The Company You Keep. Unfortunately child talent seems to move to YT Archives once they turn 18. I'm hoping that doesn't happen with Amira, Courtney Hadwin or Angelina Jordan--all not far away from 18 and still at the top of the game.

Look first at Babbino with Andre Rieu - just 10 and 15000 people gave standing ovation - then look at Babbino CIG 2016, follow this with Babbino at Reykjavik finally Babbino / Your Love at max proms. Amira is now still just 15. Much more to look at but it would be very interesting to hear your opinion as to her progress singing from 9 to 14 with this one song which I think it is phenomenal. Also Petra`s reaction of Gabriella`s song is worth a look at as you are in the business of doing them. She gets standing ovations all the time.

I was hoping you’d do a double video comparing her first performance of O Mio Babbino Caro with a more recent performance. You’d think the first one can’t be improved upon until you hear a later rendition. With some of the money she earned at Holland’s Got Talent plus other performances, Amira has created a foundation that builds children’s playgrounds in poor areas of South Africa. Amira’s got an amazing future ahead of her.

After Amira won Hollands Got Talent, she had a Masterclass with Andre Rieu the Dutch Violinist and Composer. She then Performed with Andre at his Concert in Maastrict in 2014. @@smylyface .... Dafydd's right Sandra. This performance in front of 15,000 (with a standing ovation I might add) is historic and a must see. She set the bar incredibly high for herself here and has not looked back. Her voice is maturing at a rate that astounds and what a repertoire she's compiled in at least half a dozen languages in her short career. She turns 15 next month. One to keep an eye on. Enjoy.

There's a background to this video, which shows her riding in Vienna in a Fiacre (form of horse-drawn carriage); it was bitterly cold, and the camera man was saying to her "don't look cold" - and she was having the utmost difficulty in not laughing. Amira celebrated her 16th birthday on 27 march, 2020. she lives, with her mother and brother in south africa (last four years). she has been concentrating on her schooling and her athletics and recently won her event (2000 m steeplechase) in the sa schools provincial meeting and will now represent her province at the s schools national championship (hopefully wont be affected by the covid 19 lock down).. she still has the dream of being an olympic athlete, as well as the worls finest soprano singer... she is still as humble and down to earth as ever... she also had quite a bit planned, musically for 2020, but it has all been affected by the covid 19

Little did these judges realize they were witnessing the beginning of a child prodigy. She now writes opera and writes for the whole orchestra, also she plays classical piano and plays classical violin. She is adorable and so sweet. God bless her.

in case you were unaware , she was serious about the olympic dream. She had competed and won against and children two to three years older than her in marathons when she was in Holland. I think she still runs in any spare time she gets.
