Dire, Dire Docks - Super Mario 64
- "not at all related to penguins", no they are, what you are trying to convey is 'not closely related'
- Alcidae, not Alcid
- razorbills are the closest living relative, but puffins are not the next closest. There are a few equally closely related; little auk, common murre and thick-billed murre
@@Dr.Ian-Plect I see - good points, thank you for the notes. ;)
@@GoneButNotForgottenFiles-ql9iy You're welcome.
Saddest story, great video.
I didn't even know what auks were until I recently read Robert Goodsir's diaries of one of his expeditions searching for his brother & crews of the Frankin Expedition. He wrote down both the names and scientific names of what animals he came across and it was very intriguin' to look up. Shame that they're gone.
"small, patheric wings" how rude 🤣
@@leahwyzykowski9464 Still love them though. 🥺
What a fantastic video, I just discovered your channel and I love its theme. Not only is the content super facinating and informing but the whole idea behind your content to honour the legacy of these beautiful exitinct species sadly lost in Earth's history and too continue to live on their memory. Makes you really appreicate life and inspires you to protect species today!
@@Bo-my5bn That’s so nice of you to say! 🥺 Appreciate it.
rip great auk
Fascinating video, thank you! 😊 I love your presentation style.
0:26 yes!
I find it sad of how many animals that humans caused to go extinct. I wished that heartworms and other dangerous enteral parasites and several did and certain viruses could be one of them. I'm thinking it's only a matter a time before the Vaquita becomes an extinct species. I also love the Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64 as that music along with the file select music, the end credits music, the Bowser levels music, and the slide levels music are my favorite songs in Super Mario 64.
Oh that last one was clearly a witch in disguise.
Really nice video ! Im subscribing
Out of all the recently extinct animals, the great auk is the one I am most bummed about.
