This is one of those hidden gem songs that skillet makes, every album has all these songs that are extremely underrated and get no attention, no music video, and never get played live, just like falling inside the black, believe, Madness In Me, and many many more. this song is beautiful.

I heard this song for the first time the day I found out my mom had cancer. She battled for ten months and lost her battle almost a year ago. May 26th @ 3am my dad called me to tell me my mom was being rushed to the hospital because she couldn't breathe. On my way there "Watching For Comets" came on. When I got to the hospital my mom was gone. I used this song for a slideshow of my mom's life at her funeral. I listen to it several times a week. It reminds me that no matter how tough things get for me, it's nothing compared to what she went through in her 10 month battle for her life. Thank you for this...

John Cooper has the uncanny ability to write the songs of my life....I felt that way with "Rise" and even moreso with "Unleashed". This one is probably my most favorite ever....I didn't think anything would ever top "Salvation" but this is the one I listen to on repeat 😀

I don't know why, but this made me think of my grandpa. He was a priest and just loved and believed in people. He passed away three years ago and it shattered my world. But this song just brought back so many happy memories of time I got to spend with him. Thank you Skillet.

This will be playing nonstop when my parents pass. Just the part "...you were gone so fast, I want you back," breaks me down and makes me regret every time I was an ass to them. This song is a wake up call to anyone who ever has mistreated or not given much affection to a loved one...
every time I hear one of Skillet's songs I feel closer to God. They lift my spirit up and every time of trouble it feels like they know what's happening and he right song plays. this song reminds me that people can say what ever they want about me but my soul and spirit are invincible to the attacks from Satan because I believe in Christ and He is my protector.
To date, this has to be one of their strongest power ballads, and my goodness do they have a lot that I love!!

Once I met a girl who I loved so much. We weren't a couple to begin, but I was in love with her. We started to know each other and she made me feel special. She was especial for me too. We just shared a little time together and then she dissapeared from my life witihout apparent reason. She is the comet that I lost and that I want back. I hope to see her again some day.
