This song is easily one of Skillets greatest master pieces. The strings , the flow, the lyrical composition all converge together into a powerful anthem for us all. The part that gets me especially is the bulid up to the first chorus with jens soft vocals and then the instruments swell and burst forth with johns powerful voice leading the charge. Absolutely incredible.
Love how there's Linkin Park fans here. The same year they formed the band, I went into the Army but had no idea years later, and after his passing, my heart sank. Few years later, I lost my stepfather the same way. Music has been there for me all these years and I thank God for this band and so many others out there sharing God's love. Chester fought demons day and night and it was clear sign how the devil works. He comes to Steal, Kill and Destroy All that is good. May God bless his family, friends, and us who stood by them all those years. God Bless Skillet and their amazing music that has shined a light in this dark world. Peace and God Bless.

I just want to say thank you Skillet for answering the calling our Savior has placed upon you all. You have no idea what an impact your music has had for so many, including my son. Your music helped him get through some of the most difficult times in his life, throughout highschool, and even now as he serves in the Army. He constantly tells me if I've heard your most recent songs or albums and tell me it helps him get through each day, since military life can be very lonely and difficult at times. God bless you, Skillet 💜 from a very appreciative, military Mom🙌

The first time i heard this song.I fell in tears cause (im a teen who doesn't talk a lot to other people cause of being bullied for so long about my size and age and my health problems that i stuck around bad people just trying to fit in the crowd and actually talk with other people but it lead to a downward spiral such as cussing about other's people , dirty jokes and rumors about others ,vaping talking back at other's and family member's and old friends telling about some down right dirty sites on the internet.) And when i heard this song i started tearing up saying to myself(This is me right being stuck hopelessness of doing terrible things to others back then and sticking up to the wrong crowds just to be notice from other people and to actually be talk to and have real friends (cause i really did not have friends back then) and caused major heartbreaks to other such as family neighbors and other people. And going thru depression right now aint fun from my dark past.so if your going thru deppresion,sadness,heartbrake or sick of this covid plandemic God can save you and help you through the hard times your facing.
You deserve all the help you can get. I too have been going through tough times and have been thinking about starting to smoke and vape. But your story has proven that those things don’t fix your problems. Only your belief is God and faith can help you. Thanks for sharing this. My friend i whent through the same thing that you have i know what you felt . Even when i was in a large groop of people who i pretended where my friends i felt like i was l alone. l would just hide what i was going through from all those who cared abought for me so i hid away from every one and just suffered for years until my mom came to visit and took me to a concert called winter jam. Which is ware i herd this band play and it changed my life i got clean got a good job and am going to college. This band is a light that steers us away from are bad pasts and on to a better tomorrow. And brighter future's with god leading the way.

The odds of anyone from Skillet seeing this is next to nil but I wanted to say thank you (I have no doubt you receive many messages like this so I apologize for piling on). I’ve battled major depression since I was six. I’ve attempted to take my own life three times. Each and every day is a battle inside of me that so few truly understand. Long story short; my wife and son bought me this CD for Father’s Day 2020 specifically because of this song. They didn’t tell me about the song. Instead we were driving and it came on. It hit me like a rock and very, very few songs are able to do that (the last one ironically being Skillets own ‘Would it Matter’) I know this is too much information. I just wanted to give my sincerest thank you to Skillet, and particularly Mr. Cooper who wrote this, from the bottom of my heart.

Akhil Joseph I’ve tried to find Jesus. However attempting to take your life is apparently an unforgivable mortal sin (even more do with multiple attempts). I was kicked out of the Jehovah Witnesses (disfellowshipped). I tried to become a Catholic (my wife and son both are) but they openly stated they did not want me during the Right to Christian Initiation for Adults courses when I kept asking question (nothing rude of course but I had a ton of questions with each lesson). In the end they determined Catholicism was not “for me”. I’ve never felt lonelier at that point when two faiths boot you aside. I know what I did was unforgivable in Gods eyes. I also know what unfortunately awaits me in the afterlife. All I can do now is continue to try and be a good father and husband.
Steven Brown hope you get this , I am a Catholic too , cause that’s what I was born into . And I can tell you that Catholics have gone real far away form Jesus . You need to find who Jesus is , and there is only one place you should look for him in , which is the book he left back for you . Read the Bible man , and read the New Testament cause that’s where you can see who Jesus is . Read the book of John . And you will find him !
@@stevenbrown1204 don't search for Christ in a titled religion but find Him in a sincere surrendered heart relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit. Find Him on your knees in prayer when you feel you are broken. Find Him in the red letters in the Bible: there you will see and feel His forgiveness and unwavering love for you and know that He willfully hung on that Cross (and suffered so much else before the Cross itself) to cover and erase each and every single one of those sins you think are unforgivable all so that you may know Him and His love for you in this life AND the next. Just find Him in other believers who can tell you their testimony and the truth that there is no place too far, no depth too low, no guilt or shame or sin too heavy we can be pressed down by that God cannot reach to and pull you out from under and into His grace and mercy. Listen to Jordan Feliz "Never Too Far Gone" or Memphis May Fire's "No Ordinary Love", then open your Bible (or Bible app!) and give Romans 8:38-39 a read and understand that God (not man who may profess to know God but does not follow the example of love unconditional that Jesus was, is, and will always be forevermore) loves you regardless of the stain of sin, He only desires that we let Him into our heart so that He can remove that sin and make us whole in, and only through, Him. I pray you hear Him when you call and that you'll find your way into His grace where you belong because you are already in His heart and your very name is engraved upon His hand ❤❤❤
Steven Brown, Jesus loves you man. He loves your family. Look up to the heavens and ask for strength and forgiveness, Jesus Forgives. The main thing is you pushed through and prevented your suicide and you're still with us. Prayers abound. I went through the same thing with depression in high school, I was bullied to the point where I tried to take a knife to my wrists and hang myself, but with Help and the Good Lord around me, I came through my dark times to find the light in Jesus Christ. He listened when I needed help and he rescued me. He will rescue you too. Open your heart. He will come to you. Knowing and believing in Christ is more than Religion, it is a Relationship with the Father.
If you ever feel like you've never accomplished anything, just remember that you woke up today, and that's always enough 🤘

That was my first song, found in a star wars video cover when I was in high school and I was very confused about myself. I had to deal with bad colleagues and my emotions weren't very comfortable but that song gave me balance and from there I was a fan of the band.

They are amazing live, John really has the perfect voice for this, most bands you can tell they have to do a lot of work in the studio to make their voices that good. Skillet is not one of those bands.

Skillet, I first saw you guys in 2002'ish in the Watertown, SD high school arena when you were touring with Benjamin Gate. That night was my first exposure to Christian music, and as a new Christian, that made all the difference in the world. My dad told me we were going to the concert against my will. I'm thankful for his faithfulness as a dad, and I'm thankful for you opening my heart and mind to the world of Christian music. Your music and the music of many other great artists (love me some David Crowder) have helped me grow in my faith in countless ways!

God I hope we get out of this Corona Virus rut soon. 2020 was difficult for all of us. If history has shown anything, though, it’s that humanity’s got a propensity to survive Hell-on-Earth scenarios like this. Sure, at the end of the day, lives have been, and will be lost from this, but at the end of it all, we will endure. My prayers go out to all who are struggling in this difficult time. May you hopefully find relief soon.
