It’s only nine steps, if you count the time that I called 411 in 1994 after Kurt’s death, and got the number to Leland Cobain, his Paternal Grandfather. He and I spoke on the phone for several hours, long distance, from Minnesota to Washington State. He was very gracious with his time, and he told me believed that Courtney had something to do with it. He believed that Kurt did not kill himself. I wish that I had recorded it. I was 17, at the time. Back then, privacy was much less of a concern, and such information was publicly available. It was called the White Pages, in phone books. Kids today have no idea.

      @acmemasteri 22 дня назад +1

      Oh... Kool suprise?
Well... yes, yes it really is.
And that Melvins 7" has another band too: Nirvana.
I almost bought that 7" but it was too good condition (value ~1000-1400€)...
      Ok, I taptap this:
I just recently cleaned that 1st version of the album. Andy Warhol's production abilities were so poor that my Swedish bootleg (2007? Usually called Raw Banana or Green Banana) that's from the acetate-plate/mold us mainly hissing and rubling. It may been recorded to 8-track (not 8-tracker... old 8mm tape on two disc*-us) that was mainly knewn because Tandberg's decks.
We had those still AT USE on our classes grades 3-9. (1990-1996)!
Those were the first time people could record a live sound (radio) as they wanted. Actually as tapes got better quality of 8-track is quite good. We used those as we did loops ("tapeloops")about 20 years ago. We copied Kraftwerk's idea.
But to the sub: I got much of all cracking, rumble, hissing etc. more background and when I channeled guitars and lifted vocals and et cetera songs like Venus In Furs, European Son and I'm Waiting For the Man (versions are different and lyrics has bit changes) worked quite ok... bc that bootleg-quality is horrible.
I'd put those on my channel but ỲŢ usually cencored those. Even those has never been published!
By the way... if you click on my account... read the text. It has been so for years.
III is my favourite and even IV was a bit another band I like those all. Even that Green Banana.
I had a live-bootleg (Dallas, Texas 1969 -yt maybe?) that was hq-quality but I, an Idiot, crashed it. Crack.
It's really worth of listening and there we can eadily hear how small the bar was or it had not listeners...
I look if you may find it...
      Yup.
      Here: ruclips.net/video/kCIs6lbiHtg/видео.htmlsi=loSqkHP5d1Kzw9UZ
Or just Dallas, Texas, 0ct 1969.
      I'm Set Free is fabulous.
My 1st gf loved 1st album... And Because Rister Ray (Joy Division's last concert-version is on 'Still' and it's (thinking of culture and records by the time it was really wild record (White Light/White Heat, 1968, title song later recorded by Bowie). My third long time (7+y) girlfriend had a Banana bag. Actually all of my gf:s who has listen music much (there's violinist & bassist, bad guitarist, and pianist f.ex.) has liked the band.
I saw Lou Reed live here 2005...
I have also live-gigs & demos (1965) and most of Reed's albums. Also c-cass bootleg serie and some more... So the band was big thing even I lived a shitty redneck-town pop.16 000 -NOT like N.Y.C.
So & still I DO like tVU.
I was 17 as I loaned 1997 "Peel Slowly And See"-box (from my high-school friend and musical mentor). I loaned that to my best friend. She liked also the band and introduced me many I still listen.
Year later she committed suicide (jumped from the bridge to rails where a train run over her. RIP C.)
Anyway. What a coincidence (?)... As you handle the most of Joy Division's material too you have a good background to go on...
      Greets from Finland.

Dale Crover was also Nirvana’s drummer twice in a row. The first time was in 1988, during which time the band recorded a demo tape called, “Nirvana: Heavier than Heaven.” Some of it was remixed and included on the Bleach album, other tracks were released on the Incesticide album, and others still were included on the 2011 With the Lights Out box set. The only track from that demo tape that never got put out on a proper album or compilation was that version of the song Spank Thru, which the band rerecorded with Chad Channing on drums later, and that version was released as a single by Sub Pop.
The second time Dale joined Nirvana as drummer was to help the band complete the tour they were on after Kurt and Krist parted ways with Chad. Dale agreed to do it under one condition: NO TRASHING THE DRUMS AT THE END OF GIGS. Kurt and Krist agreed, and never did any trashing of instruments at all during the remainder of that tour.
