Really baffling that one of the most significant improvements came for mobile a long time ago and only now it's hitting consoles, but better super late than nothing I guess
No, you‘re not the only one. In fact, I also want to see GTA Chinatown Wars being brought to the Switch with all the contents from the DS, mobile version and even the PSP exclusive contents. But I highly doubt that Rockstar Games is even interested by that point, as they are quite busy with GTA VI.
I hope they'll continue to optimize performance and the resolution. The switch shouldn't break a sweat running PS2 games. The fact that even next gen consoles had frame rate issues is insane.

They're in much better shape but 2 issues still bug me. In all of them on the OLED switch theres a thin white line that pops up at the bottom of the screen pretty often, and in all of them but mostly 3 and Vice there's a weird haze or distortion effect under your car when driving. It almost looks like the censoring/bluring tool effect. Its really apparent in Vice, just hop in a car during the day and look at the road just behind/under your car as you drive. Its like a blurry puddle that constantly follows your car. Really hope they address this now that GSG isnt at the wheel anymore.
Sad part is, that even if you own the physical version the updates are subject to virtual servers. Once they close, you keep the physical version of a bad game
Still needs a bit more work, but it's decent now, at least. They still need to fix the traffic issues, aerial controls, put moving garbage back on the streets of GTA 3, fix overall texture issues and etc.
SA is still a little blurry, especially when playing in docked. But its hard to complain now when they were so bad at release. And the Super Switch should hopefully auto upscale in the future.
My only real remaining niggle is the lack of litter and newspapers blowing around the city in gta3... IT'S TOO CLEAN!! And with these improved visuals and lighting/shadow rendering, it looks even cleaner
This is really good news! Glad to see the trilogy getting major improvements! Maybe one day sega could do the same thing and fix up sonic colours ultimate. I'm well aware of the re rainbow mod I'm just thinking for those who don't play on pc. Maybe give it the same treatment they gave generations.
So they never added gyro to the PlayStation versions? That’s weird, especially considering that the gyroscope on the DualSense is actually better than the Switch’s.
the only problem i still have with these remasters are the car physics. when you get into a car, it feels like it’s slightly hovering above the ground. i wish that they would add in car physics similar to gta 5
Rockstar gets credit for continuing to work on the game. Due to its original reception, and that it’s a few years old not many new buyers will jump on board. This is more to say hey we messed up bad and we made it right.
4:23 Dang, yet another game removing flashing effects with no option to restore them. Feels real bad. Thunder doesn't look nearly as good on 1.80. Otherwise, every other change is a big improvement.
I’ve heard they haven’t added option to change the axis of gyro. From my memory it only used yaw, why is not a great option axis for handheld mode as it results in turning the console like a steering wheel. I would test to see if gyro was improved from previous versions, but I have a sd card detection problem with my switch which makes that a bit difficult. Also I wished it was an included feature on playstation.

I've been through marriage, combat, divorce, homelessness, and getting back on my feet since. I am remarried with seven kids, lol. I work getting people housed now. It's nuts. And now San Andreas looks ALMOST as good as that PS2 trailer!
I can’t agree that it is great. I tested San Andreas today and it is most worse than ever. It takes longer time to load and it takes also a longer time to load the roads and buildings in the game. So when I drive from Las Venturas to Los Santos it happens a lot of times that the road was blurry and half of my car was under the road before it has loaded so I could see the road. It was much better after the last update but right now it is a catastrophe. I shall test Vice City and GTA III too and see.
@ I tested Vice City and GTA III too right now. And Vice City have the same new problems like San Andreas. But I shall test to delete the update/game and install it again.
