- This is the first video showcasing my 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn build known on Instagram as @5thgen.ram! In this video I give a full walk around on the entire truck, and I try to give insight into why I chose some of the modifications I did and explain my mindset behind the build. I will be adding many parts soon and I want to upload product review videos, install tutorials, and general truck content soon! This video will serve as the base point as I add more mods in the future, and I can’t wait to show you what’s all in store for the truck!

Couple things: do you know the tow mirrors flip up ( i like em up , many people don't) .
Carbon fiber steering wheel would be cool ( mine otw)
You can get red trx style start button ( may not match your theme , mine red and black)
Haha yeah I know they flip up I’m just personally not a fan of them up.
I planned on getting a carbon fiber steering wheel but then when it added all the topographic vinyl I didn’t want it to clash with carbon fiber haha. I bought a kit to reupholster my steering wheel with black and orange leather with orange stitching but I need to have it professionally installed

I wish there was a vid that showed you painting the silver pieces as I want those same orange pieces on mine. What paint did you use and how did you do it.
I apologize I just now saw this comment haha. I know I wish I would’ve recorded it too! It’s just such a time consuming process I was focused on doing a good job instead of filming. I didn’t wanna mess anything up since it’s so touchy. You have to drill out a million plastic welds and then sand the trim down to somewhere around 250-300 grit, spray plastic adhesion promoter (I didn’t but I would if I did it again. I haven’t really had issues but it would’ve been smart to do), then spray your paints (adhesion promoter, primer, base, clear). And then putting it all back together personally I like to use a gel super glue or 2 part epoxy. I tried hot glue like some people recommend and it was a nightmare for me. If you want to try something easy first, the far left and right air vents on your dash by your windows just simply pull out with your hand. Then you can take the trim off with your hand. Every other piece in the entire truck will have plastic welds you have to break/drill out. Hope that all helps

Do all the vent bezels and center console bezels all just pull off? I’ve wanted to wrap all mine but didn’t know if they came off?

The gloss black is trash on the head unit. It will crack in time, fade and discolor because of the lamination. Other than that... perfection. Wanna trade? Haha my 5th gen bone stock minus window tints
Hmm I’ve never seen it cracked or discolored? I’m sure having all the high end tint will help prevent that substantially though since it blocks 99% of UV Rays and I think like 65% of heat.

The 6'4" bed with the crew cab is the only way. That short bed crew cab combo looks terrible.
Thanks man! I agree. Idk when they’re just leveled I think short beds look fine, but definitely once the truck has a 6” lift it looks more proportionate with the longer bed. I freakin love it I’d never get a shorter bed than this in the future

appreciate the mega amount of time and attention to detail you have in this build. Especially like what you’ve done with the interior. I’ll be using it for inspiration on our Limited eco diesel build which has way too much chrome!

How were you able to paint the silver part on the interior. Did it just clip off?
I wish! No you have to grind down a million plastic welds to get them to pop off and then 2 part epoxy back together

14-15 mpg hwy... oofta. Like you said, not bad for the size of the truck. My 35's on my ecodiesel still keeping me at over 22mpg combined. I did drop about 3mpg on the lift.
Thank you! That’s awesome on the ecodiesel for sure! I’ve even heard of some guys with the Chevy ecodiesel getting 28mpg with 35s! But for the hemi to get 15hwy I’m pretty happy!

I read on 5thgenram forum that you had warranty issues with your rear window. That sucks that they are doing you like that.
Damn dude thanks so much! Yeahhh ram did me dirty! Voided 100% of the warranty because I added a lift and tires. Wouldn’t even fix the cracked back window that ram issued an extended warranty for since it’s such a common issue, all because of “you installed larger than stock tires” so dumb
Depending on how far you'd want to go with suspension the bulletproof 10-12 suspension kit looks good
But Rough Country and BDS got decent suspension too
Haha nah I’d never do a 10-12 inch lift especially on a 1500. I like using my truck and with those lifts it’s strictly a show truck. I got Fox 2.5s for all 4 corners being installed in January so that fits my goals much better
I think wayyy to many lights but truck looks dope & I like what you did with it for sure. 👌👍 specially the bottom part of the grill & with the brushed chrome on the front thats unique for sure.

Hey man unfortunately the rebels and TRX’s share a skinnier lower grille that won’t fit 3” pods! You’d be able to fit BD S2s or similar style pods and still most likely use the brackets from my kit, but you’d have to make the holes in your grille or the grille I provide by yourself 👍🏼

Hey man Im designing, manufacturing, and selling them myself! At this time there’s no affiliation with Baja Designs, I just designed it to work with their lights perfectly! I’m going to try hard to have them on the new website and ready to sell by Jan 1st! I’m glad you got some use out of the video! I think I’ll try to make some shorter specialized videos going over some of the individual mods I’ve done with reviews and some tricks and tips I learned with install 👍🏼 some of the stuff I don’t even think about because obviously I see the truck every day and kinda forget that I even modified certain things 😂 I had to check my list of mods multiple times when filming just to remember everything I did haha
