Nice little update KP. I started the season at 20.2, got down to 14.1 but a couple of bad round have seen me drift up to 14.6 and finish on 15 :( Similar to yourself I have been driving the ball very well, but my second shot in has been pretty hit and miss, luckily my chipping is the strongest part of my game but plenty to work on in the off season. Keep up the good work.
Gone from 25.3 to 21.8 this year by just playing and not practicing. Reckon it will require some practice to progress further from here. Courses are closing in Norway now, guess it will be some rounds playing the simulator this winter. I'll only have a drink and the go home... famous last words 😂 good to see a vid from you again.
Thanks for the update Kev, don’t put too much pressure on yourself regarding the handicap, unless we play 2-3 times per week and go to the range and practice it makes it harder to get that handicap to drop. Family commitments also makes it difficult. Just enjoy playing and competing and have fun with it 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more... I was pushing hard at the beginning of this year and handicap was coming down then cus of other commitments I haven't been able to get out nearly as much and the fame is super unpredictable now
Nice to have a lovely little update... Don't lose heart mate, keep plugging away and u'll hit a nice purple patch soon. I started the season at 13.8 and went down to 12.5... Was playing really well and then things have cropped up in my life and haven't been able to give it my all annoyingly, haven't been able to play comps/qualifiers and have gone back to 12.6. Certainly don't feel like I can even play to that at the minute. Need to get back into the habit of playing again. Tricky. Cmon Europe! That yank squad looks insane tho
Keep your chin up kev. Sounds like you've had the kind of season I've had. Again like you I play and practice regular and my handicap is either stagnant or going the wrong way. 🤨 Changing my coach several weeks ago is helping and hopefully with plenty of practice through the winter I will have a more positive outcome next year. Coincidently, I've just bought my first ever electric trolley and it's the powerkaddy C2i and love it. Keep the videos coming 👍
Great to hear from you pal, my handicap has stayed about the same. I haven’t played much over the winter months due to my back and bad weather(maybe 1-2 rounds very 2-3 weeks), but when I have played I’ve generally shot between 2under to 3over my handicap. So all in all I’m not playing too bad. On a positive, I have just ordered a set of mizuno jpx919 forged in recoil graphite 95 stiff shafts. I’m currently playing srixon 565 steel, which I love, but I’m trying graphite to see if it helps with some injuries and hopefully help my back as well......Stick with it mate it’ll click for you soon😀👍
Welcome.back Kev Currently in Wales with the missus she's a great caddy played Nefyn and Aberdovey both pukka courses From 21 to 19 got to 18 early on though back home tomorrow and Playing Flackwell Heath on Friday Kev I've got.that left shot as well mate We need more clogs from you
Sounds like a good week away.. I've got a Mrs that caddys occasionally too. Gotta hold on to those ones. Lol. Sounds like a good season too. Well done and keep on going
Started the year at 14.3 and currently at 10.9, had it to 10.7 for a month but it went back up. Have a look at the most resent BeBetterGolf video, he talks with Bertie Cordle the inventor of the DST compressor and impact line technology, you might be interested. Good luck.
Started the year at 13.2, was out of action for the first 4 months with a broken leg. Handicap went up to 15.4 when I started playing again now down to 13.9. I was hoping to get to around a 10 this year but that won't happen now.
I have been using the Shotscope for about 12 rounds. It works really well. Stats are interesting, it confirms what you probably already know but backs it up with data. A big thing is getting data on how far you hit each club and how often you use each club in what setting, ie chipping, approaches ect. Sync with the phone is great. The only slight niggle is you do have to do some post-round editing, typically putting location. So big thumbs up from me. I got it because like you I am trying to reduce my handicap. Chipping has been an issue, just done a crash course on technique, it's getting there. But everyone has an opinion. There is a good guy online called Eric Cogorno, best coaching lessons I have seen, check him out. Despite my efforts/practice like you, I have gone up 1 shot 15 to 16. But my ball striking has been great. I joined a new course (Westhill in Surrey) last year and its harder and taken me more time to get to grips with it. So My expectations were probably too high for this year. Having said that I am playing to my handicap a lot so a good one is just around the corner.
Joining a new club is always going to be a challenge. Probably takes a season to get used to it... Learn the misses, pin positions, stuff like that... I always think if I'm playing regularly to my handicap there is always a class round waiting... Good luck
I started the year on 5.2 and finished on 5.3😂 but I did get up to as high as 6.4 so was quite pleased to get back to some decent golf and lower it back down to end the season👍
Had a decent season. Started 5.3 and managed to get down to 4.7 with a couple of qualifying comps to go. Since getting to cat1 it’s difficult to take it to the next level tho I have finished season really well and looking forward to getting practicing over the winter. Still need to play a round at Wakey pal
Hi James, super kind worlds, thanks. I’ve been super busy and not had time to dedicate to my golf let alone the videos! Been doing a lot on the Golfshake.com channel, head over their and have a look 👍
11.2 to 10.4, and last two comps back to 10.6. So, Im happy with this, and next season a push for single figures. The thing Im most happy with, is that I can play to my handicap and compete.
Started back golfing on the 1.1.2018 after about 30 years off. Gone from 54 to 30. A few naff rounds. Should have been nearer to 20. Oh well. There's always next year.
On holiday with the lost art of putting - will finish before the end. Season - 13.1 to 10.4 got 3 more qualifiers to go - if close (to single figures) will put in a supplementary card. My best comp scores haven’t come from my best ball strinking rounds (often not in comps) but by being ‘average’ and taking opportunities when the present themselves - we never do this . . . . . but just try to play to your handicap - you will get some shots on those par 3s - can you bogey them? . . . . of course - easily so, but 6 over on 3 holes is tough to recover from - good luck 😉
So true... My best low rounds this year have jst come from hitting fairways, hitting greens and When I don't hit greens getting up and down... Jst those effortless days where you keep ur head and concentration and it jst all clicks. Crazy game
Started the season at 6.2 and down to 5.0. Played pretty well this season. Off to test the game at Thorpeness tomorrow! Look forward to the watch review. I’ve used game golf but to be honest the tagging is a turn off.
Sounds like a good season... I've got gamegolf and loved it the first year but its jst become a bit of a chore and have hardly used it this year, shame
hi kev .. great vlog, I do feel for you mate , it's only my opinion but you seem to be trying so hard, just wondering, have you had a lesson lately , have you got a regular teaching pro , perhaps instead of spending ages working down the range go see a pro and perhaps he can explain and help you stopping them left hits .... I was like you a couple of years ago , but had enough got a few lessons , kept my gear and this year I've gone from 12.6 to 9 , so if I can do it you can buddie ... keep going mate .👍👍👍👍

Tougher the less shots you get too.. Keep plugging away dude

Well done. Super tough in cat 1. U must have been playing some decent Consistent golf
Not seen any parts in a year. Have you left RUclips or have you given up golf? Really enjoyed your content.
Hi James, super kind worlds, thanks. I’ve been super busy and not had time to dedicate to my golf let alone the videos! Been doing a lot on the Golfshake.com channel, head over their and have a look 👍
Hello, are you still making any youtube videos? Looks like its been a year since you last produced one.
11.2 to 10.4, and last two comps back to 10.6. So, Im happy with this, and next season a push for single figures. The thing Im most happy with, is that I can play to my handicap and compete.
