Great birdie! I get to play Firestone occasionally here in Akron Ohio. Number 16 on the north course is a 667 yard par 5 called the Monster. I typically play from the white tees as I am just a bogey golfer but when I get to 16 I play from the blues just because. Have yet to par it : )
Awesome birdie! I’ve played #17 at Black Mountain (NC) Golf Club. That’s a tight 747 yard par 6. BMGC is nestled in some lovely Blue Ridge scenery. I think the course is still closed after Hurricane Helene, but should re-open this spring.
back in the early 70's when I was on the op of my game, one of my buddies heard there was a par 6 in the Poconos in PA where we are from. We found the course, called and got a tee time. It was the middle of a brutal summer, hadn't rained in 2 weeks, fairways were like a parking lot. The hole was 745 yards. I got the name King Kong from my golf coach in 1969 when I wouldn't tee off until the other 4 some was on the green, 340 yards away. He said who do you think you are King Kong. I ended up on the front fringe. Every day we played someone would put a banana on my bag. As for the par 6 I crushed a drive and it just kept going, and looked and I still had a long way home. Hit a driver from the deck and it bounced and ended up off the back of the green. I was 85 feet away from an albatross, but with my luck ended up with a birdie, the green was as hard as a pool table
I had to work in VA for a good while, so I played this course a good number of times. It’s a fun track. Out of all the rounds, I only par’d this hole once. I never played the tips on the rest of the holes, but for this hole, I always played the tips just for fun. All the water is hidden, which makes it necessary to know your line and trust that line. The people that run the course are super nice and the surrounding area is really pretty.
I’ve heard and read online that the other 2 courses are “better” to play than the longest 9. But I feel like if i had to choose one of the 9s, I hadddd to do the one with the longest hole lol. Appreciate your input and will def check these out again during warmer months. Cheers!
I have played that course a few times. Played with my dad and 2 of his buddies. His friend got a Hole in One on the Waterfall hole. Very cool shot. This course is a fun challenge. Nice birdie. I need to do a Par 3 Challenge here. Happy New Year!
Need to check out the other two 9s. Apparently the “Longest” course is the worst out of the 3, but has this hole so chose it. Stinks it’s a drive but def will be back. Definitely great value cost wise! Cheers to ya, Paul. I’m hoping to play one of your grint tour events at some point this upcoming year.
If you think that's a long hole then take a look at St Andrews 2000 golf course in Chonburi, Thailand. The 13th hole is a 910 yard par 6 off the championship tees. Myself and 3 mates played this course back in 2010 and between us we managed 1 birdie, 2 pars and 1 bogey. I was the bogey maker.
Yup, cart path only so decided to walk. And yeah conditions weren’t the best. I give them a slight pass given this was filmed Dec 2024 and had a cold stretch and rain previous few days.
From when I played there, it didn’t appear that they maintained that back tee box. I played from there anyway because it is the longest hole in the US, and I didn’t want to shortchange myself. 😂
The Meadows Farm courses have a number of interesting, fun gold holes. I've always considered the par 6 to be kind of boring. You just keep hitting the ball until you get to the hole. You have to hit a pretty bad shot to get in serious trouble.
Hah appreciate the love! I’m def not scratch, but goal is to get there one day. And think I had the putt ~25 feet when I paced it off. One of my favorite sayings is a putt is the same amount of strokes as a 300yd drive, all about the short game!
Good video. And nice golf! It's not often one can say, "I made birdie 5."
Appreciated!! Yeah “Birdie 5” is def a new one hah.
Congrats -- getting a birdie on that hole is an accomplishment!
@@windyrun7979 appreciate it! Told myself a bogey would be great and Par would be amazing. Felt like stealing one with that lucky putt 🙃

I played there years ago ....... was a blast to play

The camera falling 😂. Good job on that birdie!
Wow, tysm!!!

@@MarkEresGolf Let me know. You can play as a non-member. My Par 3 Winter Classic is open to non-members as well.
Fantastic birdie, that was great to watch
Appreciate the love! 🫡 🙏

I think this course opened in the early 90’s when I was living in Richmond, VA. I regret not playing it while I was there. ☹️
Cart path only? That tee box look like a cow pasture!

Those are dormant trees, not dead ones. Loved this, what a hole. BTW, that is a nice 5
I birdied that hole many years ago. I've also had many scores over par as well. Fun course.
I’m learning quickly that a birdie on this hole can now be used as a badge of honor, hah! Not many ppl can say “I’ve made a birdie 5”….cheers to ya! 🫡
That is insane. My son and I played a par 6 at Lake Chabot in California. It was only 647 yards! 800 plus yard?
Very nice! Great hole!
Great video, awesome job!
@@Vitruvian-Man12 appreciate ya 🫡🙏
PGA needs to visit this place or Greg Norman's tour
Well done, sir!
sorry not a real birdie since you picked the ba..........syke I'm just kidding, that was awesome!! Great job!
lol had me for a second. Appreciate the support, cheers to ya! 🫡 🙏
Australia has a golf course so long it takes 2 days to play
Great Putt!!
Super fun and unique course
Do this again in the summer
Very good job with this video do it again
You’re not a weekend warrior for sure….Maybe I missed that you’re a scratch player ‼️. But congrats ‼️👍👍 that was crazy… looked like a 15’ put?

I played a 1100 yard par 8 the other day.
More entertaining than TGL.
The longest hole in my parts is Lake Chabot 18th hole at par 6, 667 yards of downs and ups.
This is 5 miles from my house. Great bird!
If I was 5 miles away, I’d def be here quite often. Love the 3 9 hole courses concepts! Maybe I’ll catch ya out there one day this upcoming season!
841 straight into the fan. Easy par. Driver, driver, driver, wedge, putter.
😂😂
Good bird.
🫡🙏
Great job had to sub thanks will be watching thanks !
Appreciate the love and sub! Many more VA course vlogs on the docket for 2025!
It should be a par 7
lol seriously! Think the other 2 holes ahead of this one in the world (not US) are Par 7s.
It's okay, when it's January, windy, and in the fifties, to wear pants. Nice birdie though!
Nice bird and rhoback… sponsorship deal??
!!!!!! @rhoback, hello??!?
Look, at age 62, I don't need an 800 yard hole to have a par 6. A 650 yard hole could easily be a par 6 for me!
I hear ya! I’m not a long hitter in general so agreed on anything over 600 is crazy. Fun experience tho, check it out if you’re ever in central VA!
Not two ponds in the middle of the fairway....
lol I feel ya. Real goal not mentioned on camera was to not lose a ball. A birdie felt like stealing one here :)
@ sometimes the long putts fall for us. I woulda lost AT LEAST one.
You must be fun! 🙄
Background 'music' is a bit annoying. Otherwise, nice video.
Nice birdie….less talk would be better. Now we know why your by yourself😂
My ex wife also holds this title
😂😂
So your telling me no hole in one possibility ok well I can drive it 300+ even though I don’t need that all the time
😂😂
Don't be like Luke kwan keep your arms and legs and head in the cart.....
Too much talking...
