I wanted an black metal logo of my brand name for my YT account and after unsuccessfully searching for a font creator for the logo, I came across your video and decided that just making my own from scratch will not only be more fun but probably give it some sentimental value instead of just plugging it into a font creator of some type. Appreciate the video, bud 👍🏽 much love
ive noticed you are flipping the one side this way: ctrl + t flip horizontally move it with your mouse. you can just do this instead (for rasterized layers) ctrl + j ctrl + a ctrl + t flip horizontally so that way its centered and you can do it way faster rather than moving it with your hand adjust it etc great video regardless

i thought i couldnt make logos before, but i genuinely think i got like twice as good after this video LOL, like i'm still not good but i made smth for a side project and i kinda cooked. tysm
Cheers mate. Yeah exactly, I just use a hard round brush with pressure sensitivity turned on while drawing with my tablet. Best of luck with your artworking pal ⚔
Ah nice one Matt thanks a mill 🙏 at that stage I had merged both sides onto one lager then went into edit, warp and was playing around with inflate but at about -21. It kinda just pinched in the centre if ya get me!

First of all, amazing video 👍 but I have a question. Do you just draw the jagged lines with the Lasso tool or do you have some kind of setting or tip for it? I tried it myself, but it's so hard.
I genuinely want to know too. I can see him going over the broad shape, but there are perfect little jagged patterns in the more straight parts. Really want to know what this is.
Hi Pierre and Daniel, as stated in the video I draw them by hand with the free lasso tool - there is no plug in for this. It just takes a bit of practice and sooner or later it will become second nature for ya
Thanks for this informative video. I hope i can at least get a pirate of photoshop or find something similar, im tired of using krita (a painting/drawing software lol)
Really stoked to hear you found the video useful mate! Awesome, programmes like krits and gimp can be super useful for getting the basics of digital art, but I think when you get photoshop your designs will go to the next level! wishing you the best going forward buddy
I mean the mirroring not so much but you can absolutely apply some of these principles to paper, biggest recommendation is use pencil first, and a ruler for guidelines, then go over in pen and add all the gritty and gross details. Then you can photo scan it if you need and work on it from there.
yeah dude, I use folded grease paper to get solid mirroring. But you can check out my mate Angel at Avenged Creations - he has some really nice tutorials for making metal logos with pen and paper. Great logo designer ruclips.net/video/Zjz88r8nMOQ/видео.html
I used to use a Wacom intuos tablet but currently use a Huion display tablet. They're great quality and less than half the price of the corresponding Wacom displays! I recommend them if you're looking into a display tablet ⚔️
They're absolutely awesome mate! Check out casketnap on Instagram - he used an ipad and procreate to make the sickest metal logos. He has a lot of process reels
Haha exactly! The iPad will have multiple uses and benefits - load it up with games for your daughter, then hit procreate for some logo drawings in the evenings, and that's money well spent imo. Good luck with it boss ⚔️
Hi mate, I used the free lasso tool to draw the selection, then with that selection open I fill it with black to build up the shape with these gnarly jagged lines. Hope that helps bud!
I think he is talking about the more straight parts. You have this perfect little jagged pattern. Is there some kind of plug in that you use to get the random jagged bumps?

something about the negative space in the centre of the logo ....
👀👀😂
Loved this , when using the free lasso to make it spiky , did you make all of the cuts and spikes by hand (before filling )?
the only problem i have now, which brush did you use???
