I am Certified Infection Preventionist, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I had a cringe-worthy moment early in the video when they used Betadine appropriately, applied a sterile drape, and then DID NOT wear a mask! I agree entirely with your concern regarding infection. Hopefully you can give them feedback from your favorite Infection Prevention nurse!

If they did light sedation vs. lidocaine I could be talked into it! WTH I feel like I’ve been a walking lab rat with this osteoporosis diagnosis since my hysterectomy 20 yrs ago.
I know that have osteoporosis and my orthopedic surgeon confirmed it when he had to go in for the second repair surgery on my broken forearm ( radius/ ulnar mid shaft). The bone separated from the plate/ screws. So he actually saw my bone visually and felt the bone in his had on second surgery putting in much longer plates a 20 screws. Happened just from a fall with my arm stretched out. 4 months in a cast. Trimalleolar comminuted fx took 6 months in care and physical therapy. A few years earlier. Not fun
My Oncologist never reviewed my bone density tests and just put me on Prolia without being upfront and honest with me. Also, I was also never told Prolia is a "Forever" Drug. I ended up getting bad swelling in both of my wrists with awful pain and ended up having to have wrist surgeries on both. I ended up going to an Endocrinologist who is absolutely WONDERFUL! She put me on Fosamax and is doing all she can to help me even though I still have joint pain. My lazy Oncologist needs to retire or be fired for being so incompetent!
Thank you so much for sharing all of this. It sounds like you could benefit from the next free Bone Foundations Masterclass we have coming up if you have not attended one before. You can find more information here -->www.optimalhumanhealth.com/build-bone

I had a quantitative ct scan on my back as the arthritis was too great in my lumbar spine to diagnose Osteoporosis via Dexa scan. I was in fact diagnosed with osteoporosis. Are these CT scans more accurate than Dexa?

Sounds too invasive to me. I’d rather go with the DEXA knowing it’s inaccuracies. We’re not looking for perfection. We’re only looking for a baseline as to how bad off we are. Most Insurance pays for DEXA.
Thank you Dr Doug!! This has been very interesting! Would any of these tests show osteomalacia? There's not much information about it. I've wondered for several years if a bone biopsy would identify leg pain.... bone, muscle, nerve, dehydration, electrolyte or a combination. I'm at my wits end. :(

Hey Dr Doug, my grandma broke her hip (luckily the leg bone within, not the pelvis). Have you considered doing a video on what is best to do for faster healing of broken bones/fractures, and possibly any studies on it? I was looking around, and didn't see any videos as informative the ones you make :(
Thank you for sharing this, unfortunately I cannot provide specific recommendations through this platform, I would need to know a little bit more about you as well. Bone and needles …. Knee OSTEOARTHRITIS Many years ago I had Regenexx-SD is Bone Marrow Concentrate that contains me stem cells. These cells are harvested from my lilac crest and reinjected on the same day. Worked for me on both knees , I’m 72 and no knee replacement!!!I was a runner for over 40 years 😊 Update , umbilical cord stem cell worked for me most recently!

I'm a former nurse epidemiologist/ICP. Totally agree.
Yes, they should be wearing a mask.
If you are puncturing the bone, wouldn't it make the bone weaker?
Good question!

If that procedure caused a deep bone infection could that lead to amputation?

Your introduction is too looooog, too anoyyyying, and too unnecessary. Just go straight to the point!
Just speed ahead.
Have you heard about Osteo Probe?
Use the timestamps to go to the topics you want.
Hi! we have timestamps in the decsription part so you can skip ahead :)
Chill out! Or fast-forward! Geez.
