I am so happy that SB is getting a vigorous defense. This is what our criminal system should look like. I'm talking to you, Judge Canonne, Prosecutor Lally, every prosecutor that was and still is against the Menendez brothers, et al. SB may have PTSD and Battered Spouse but no display of fear of imminent danger does not equate to Not Guilty. Thank you, Melanie, for covering this trial. We need lawyer activists like yourself to shine the light on the flaws in our system.
I'm a survivor of DV, and when I locked my abuser outside, in the cold, still fearing for my life, I called 911! Sarah, could of called 911, fled or called her friend.
In my experience in FL, I lived there for over 20+ yrs, they take BOTH people in a DV situation and that's why victims don't call most of the time. At least in Tampa, it's a known thing that they will take you both so no one ever calls. It's wrong and it's sad. I'm still watching the end. Now I'm wondering if all those attorneys refused to believe her battered wife syndrome story bc of the videos? And that's why she went through so many. This seems like the first attorney that took her seriously.
