Boukenger did it better in character development. I felt more for Eiji and the struggle he had with his Ashu blood. I'm impressed with the extra footage that Overdrive put into it but Boukenger was a better series. This wasn't a bad episode for Overdrive but it's overshadowed by the rest of the "plot". Great job editing it.
It's personal opinion if anyone thought that the Overdrive additional movements were better, but Super Sentai always made their fights more organic, even with wire and laser Fu.

Yeah, the characters were memorable in Boukenger. In Overdrive, the Rangers were not likeable or memorable becuase they gave up in Once a Ranger and what's worst is that none of them returned for any season after theirs while Boukenger did.

Of course because this is a tokusatsu series and it is better than the power rangers, beautiful props, the scenery that matches the scene, the past and the story of the character is very lively.The clothes and suits are sketched for the villain, choose the right time to shoot, the brightness of the movie must be beautiful
I've not seen Boukenger as of yet. But I'll always consider Overdrive the black sheep when it comes to the Disney seasons. It was a decent show that was ruined by its lacklustre budget and limited episode count (I mean, 32 episodes, really?). While the rangers themselves are a mixed bag, I actually liked the Fearcats (Gai, Rei, Ouga, etc.) and Kamdor (Yaiba of Darkness) as villains (from a design standpoint and the fact that their voices were on-point to how I'd imagine them sounding.) But I won't deny that both Gajah (Flurious) and Ryuuwon (Moltor) were played dirty the most in my eyes. Overall, while it's not winning any awards anytime soon, I'm satisfied with what we got. (Heck, I'm working on rewriting the entire season. ^^)
Yeah I’m impressed with how Disney era used a lot of their own footage. Despite Sentai having better story and deeper character development. All though I say SPD was the best power ranger series cause how deep they went in character development and story the only counter part to sentai I actually equally liked.

Same here!!! Operation Overdrive was the very first Power Rangers season I watched as a kid. So despite its flaws, it will always feel like the gold standard for Power Rangers for me. And after I rewatched it as an adult, I got to say it's not that bad. Sure it has its awkward moments, but it's so good! I still don't get why people hate it.
Agreed. I know there are better seasons out there. Lost galaxy and dino thunder were amazing. Operation overdrive may not be that great, but i still have fond memories of it. Seeing the mercury ranger as a kid was one of the coolest things ive seen. Was even honored to meet dwayne cameron as well.

I'm sick of the overly used wirework and the unnecessarily explosions, it doesn't make fight scenes better, just makes it worse!!! Super Sentai may not have the showy fight scenes at times , but substance and impact was always somehow shown. Example? This scene here, Eiji defeating the ashu blood within himself and given a new way to fight Rei and Gai. Of course that storyline was trashed for that crap about some liquid dude SMH
J Mac Hero not always the case, but Its pretty obvious that PR has had a good number of fails, on its own MMPR is pretty bad, Turbo nuff' said., Wild force is arguably bad, Ninjastorm was pretty chill but it's not held that high in regard, mystic force was definitely inferior at times, theres no question that Operation overdrive was fucking aweful, Jungle fury is deffo debatable & then theres the neo saban seasons which are bad all round. Power rangers ain't spotless fam.

It all makes more sense than what you guys called it Super Failforce since it is Pirate themed, Angel themed and them being separated series.
I just heard that Masayuki Deai, who played Eiji Takaoka, returned in Super Sentai Strongest Battle. His transformation into Bouken Silver was way different from 2006. this is what i like overdriveversion for my point of view.. the transform sequence feel so much effort has put into it... by far the best transform sequence then jp version :P
The triangular stripe on his back and the large shoulder pads with no additional armour parts to even them out on his costume seem to be the most painfully distracting parts of the costume to me.
Operation Overdrive kinda suffers from reshooting the battle footage from Boukenger with how fake it looks and not even in the fun kind. I feel like they could’ve afforded to let the Rangers use their civilian powers when morphed if only for creativity.

I’d question why your even watching this video, but I’ve experienced something similar when it comes to certain videos involving Star Wars that pop up in my recommendations. All I know is that apparently the Sentai counterpart has the better story compared to that PR series.

Disney didn't fire him, neither Saban, he got to work in Gokaiger, Kyoryuger and a bunch o rider and other japanese toku series
