If there's anything Samurai did well, it's great editing and blending of both American and Japanese footage. Something that was completely missing from Megaforce.
BronyTran Yeah, because it's damn near a shot for shot remake of the show. say what you will about RPM, it wasn't literally just Go-Onger in English with half the budget.

Ditto, he comes off as actually trying to do the role justice as his energy is able to compete or match that was present with Genta. It’s just that at times I don’t believe he was fed the right stuff to he can come off as more awkward, but I at least know he was trying while everyone else it didn’t seem that way.

It's amazing how most of the American version timed the Japanese version so perfectly to do the same exact moves at the same exact time.
That is the problem with it, there copying all of shinkenger to the point where it should make sense in Japan but in America it doesn’t make sense so many times and shinkenger is actually a top 3 super sentai but power rangers ruined it by not trying to make there own ideas. I’m also talking about jaden because he just was like shinkenger red but they made his story a little bit to onward and just made him good leader, bad leader while tekeru the red shinkenger had to get used to his team and had to backfire it when his story and Juzo Fuwa who is dekers counterpart was waiting for the right time to fight him and was learning tekeru rather than just wanting to fight

Unpopular Opinion: Samurai/Shinkenger Had some of the best villain designs. Too bad in Samurai, they barely had anytime to develop them aside from Deker.

+finnishnin Yeah, but even if that was just one redeeming factor, it still doesn't make up for the fact that it's still a note-by-note translation of the Sentai, when in reality....it should've been an actual adaptation of the Sentai. And that's the main reason why I've always hated Jonathan Tzachor for trying to "dubbed" the Sentai, instead of actually *ADAPTING* the Sentai. Hence why I'm so grateful that Judd Lynn is now the head writer of Dino Charge.

The reactions from the shinkengers is funnier than the reactions from the samurai rangers.
I realize that in PR Samurai 超 is used for Zords, and 合 is used for Megazord, and in Shinkenger 大 is used for individual Mecha and 超 for Gattai.
Actually 合 is also used in Shinkenger for the “Megazord”
超 is saved for the Super Formation

The Cheeseburger Morpher did show up in one episode, but it was Levi's cell phone....which is even funnier.

Anyone with eyes can see pr samurai was screneshot. The one of the biggest hint is the rocks. If you look at the rocks their laying on, their dark gray. But when the change the scene to the original one with a voice over, the rocks are white. Then when they change back to their actors, the rocks are dark gray again

jasmine hendrix That’s not a graphic fail, it’s a stock footage failure, since the Shinkenger Footage was filmed first in a completely different, place in New Zealand which shared similarities with the location from the sentai footage.

Samurai may be a copy paste job but you really have to give credit to the voice acting and the blending of US and Japanese Footage. After all it is made with a shoestring budget. If they are given the budget they can be 10 times better and there are actually many things PR does well

That is such a white people thing to say. The technique has an actual name and it's called Iai with a capital "I". Even when copy and pasting Shinkenger, Saban still failed at it.
Even though this may be a bit racist its is the upmost truth
It is a very interesting game to play with power rangers. How would you change the dialogue in this scene. For example what i would have done to explain it is similar to takeru. Say the actual sword slashing style, and that compared to regular swordmanship it cuts much faster.

Instead of changing the dialogue, it should have been left as it is.
Takeru ALREADY explained how the technique worked after revealing its name. Calling it "Sheath Slash Maneuver" is dumbing it down for people that the producers assume are too stupid to understand.
To replace a term (Iai) that comes with its OWN explanation with a term (Sheath Slash Maneuver) that is "easier" to understand insults the intelligence of even children because the former is LITERALLY self-explanatory.
@@darkglass3011 was talking about the pr scene itself but tbf, not everyone knows what iai is which is why sentai does it best because they were swift, short, and told you why hes faster in less than 10 words. Why if i did do the dialogue and localized it i would have had jaden say "it's iai, a sheath slashing style. Compared to regular swordplay it's faster" its swift. And the kids that dont know, least have the basic knowledge to know ehat it is and ehy hes fast.

Yeah, that's why I pointed out that PR failed at such a simple thing. It would have been simple to reiterate the original dialogue because it's self-explanatory than to rename it into something different for no reason.

Luis Alcala Villanueva and they said that the rpm tail spinner zord is based on a shark, when it's really an orca, the rpm falcon zord Is really a chicken, and the griffin thunderzord is really a qilin
the sushi themed transformation is really cool
I will give credit to PR samurai, the additional armor does look like Samurai armor. I don't mind the Shinkengers not wearing stuff like that, but as a powered up form it's perfect.
The new helmets are unnecessary shit though, and Gold Shinkenger looks like MEGA ASS without his blue color in PR Samurai.
Honestly you'd think that Nick would have kept MORE of the Japanese references and props since the theme of the show is inherently Japanese.

marcus morga true because the fucking American version isn't even good in general, adding in actual plot and complicated sequel would only make those casts work extra 5 mins on their daily 20 minutes job at the green screen and garden scene, can you imagine what those editor would have say if there an extra scene "oh for god sake, now I have to crop even more videos then add in even more cut to make this show look like it was created by us American."

In Sentai they did(Didnt watch samurai), Takeru gave Genta the Ika Origami when they were kids, then Genta Studied the Origami until he could Understand how it was made, and then he made the Sushi Changer
@@lfskyden Samurai did the same thing. Jayden gave Antonio the Octozord as a going away present and Antonio really wanted to understand it and become a samurai. One day while training, he found a broken phone and figured he could talk to Octozord via texting, so he designed a Morpher. It doesn't say how exactly he made it work, but it's a combination of him being really good with tech and assuming he somehow got help from the Octozord and his own symbol power.

@@aman085 That IS the phone. He turned the broken phone he found that gave him the idea to talk to Octozord through texting into the Morpher. It shows him finding the broken phone lying on the ground somewhere. Which for a trashed phone, isn't out of the ordinary.

Xaviergray87 Shinkenger's mecha are kind of awful across the board, though. The toys make this apparently, though that's Bandai's fault for pushing the designs to not be Gattai optimized in the first place. That's been an issue for several Sentai for a few years now, though.

Me?! I thought it was alright, but, I just wished that they had done more on the actual plot during the second half. That, and I really didn't like the "weak points" of Hiromu and Youko in the show. But, I did like the characters of Ryuuji, Gorisaki and Escape.
Xaviergray87 It's not bad, but it could have been better. I liked better gokaiger, I remember waiting anxiously for the next episode, thing that didn't happen on gobusters. So it's watchable, but not that great. If you want to watch some good sentai go with liveman, or megaranger, wich are subbed. If you know japanese then go with gogov, that seems interesting

No, power rangers uses the sentai footage and shoots new footage in locations that look as close as possible as the Japanese footage.

The main characters, at least. Mentor Ji has his annoying moments and I couldn't stand the two comic relief characters.
Matthew's Corner I think other think they characters are played well/are more memorable in Shinkenger.
One example is the Jayden vs Decker / Takeru vs Juuzo first duel. It may be done the same, but shinkenger is a lot more emotional.
I think another reason why people like Shinkenger so much is because it isnt PG. same example above, decker/juuzo loses the duel, but Juuzo falls off the cliff while Decker turns into a ghost

Talking during the fight is kept to the minimum. All scene are kept in the “Show dont tell” quality and tension is kept. Another detail is acting/consistentcy. When Red wound his shoulder during Decker’s duel, ShinkenRed is shown to be in more pain and holds his shoulder where he was stabbed. However, Jayden doesnt convey he was very hurt, and holds his hand instead of his shoulder.
First of all it is because power rangers just spoiled Super Sentai by trying to make a teenager show into child show and go and watch Super Sentai first and understand it yourself

I apologize for my outburst. But, I am dead serious about this situation and quite frankly, I am so glad that Haim Saban fired Jonathan Tzachor after Super Megaforce and got Judd Lynn back into the franchise by handling Dino Charge.

Michelet Dickenson Well, I wouldn't say that Samurai had the best storylines, but the only redeeming factor that it had were the changes that were made for Dayu and Juuzou's backstory from Shurikenger into Dayu and Deker's backstories and of course...the character of Lauren, the first-ever good female Red Ranger in Power Rangers history. Remember, the first-ever female Red Ranger in Power Rangers history was Charlie/SPD A-Squad Red Ranger from Power Rangers SPD, yet, she was also evil. Where as with Lauren, she's the secondary female Red Ranger. And let me tell you something right here and now....Lauren truly deserves better than how the other Samurai rangers treated near the end of Samurai. Seriously!!! She deserved better as a character. And, I have no intention of ever bringing up Clash of the Red Rangers ever again!!! I have my reasons why.
