That's how all videos should be. Informative and simple! Great one Chris!
Great Video, Just bought one online! Thanks again! Best video I've come across on the DG Element.
I really like the Darkglass sound. Huge fan!
Brilliant!!! Thank you for this video it exactly what I needed.
Cheers
is there or will it be any way to change presets for live use?
can i add a darkglass tone (distort) to the element pedal?
Is the element basically built in to the ultra v2 models? Many thanks.
If you can do a fender baseman pre (usable for bass and guitar) I'll buy one tomorrow!!!
I was on the fence with this. After watching this video I might just get this.
If it's at the end of the signal chain on a pedalboard, can it then be run into an amp?
Hi - does the cab simulation come through the headphones output as well as the XLR out or just the XLR out? I had the B7k ultra v2 but the cab sim only worked when using XLR out and did not come through the headphone out - is this the same with the Element? Thanks.
Love me some Darkglass...currently saving for the 900 head...cant wait to put it with my AO pedal :D
Can it drive a lot of headphones ? how is the amplifying architecture ? thanks
it's possible use like an interfase connected to an iphone to record? or only works with a computer?, thanks great video!
Great video, very informative. What's the difference between B7k Ultra Cab sim and Element Cab sim ?
With the B7k ultra you only have specific cabsims, while with the element you can blend them as you want. You could change the mic position, add an additional eq and noise gate and so on
I don't get any of the options for instrument in raw or processed when I set the device in Cakewalk. Any suggestions?
can I use this in my EFFECTS LOOP?
I enjoyed your demo on the Daurte class element. My question is can I also listen to backing tracks or work on a song at the same time as using this device? Adam in other words I want to learn songs
Yes you can
I uploaded 3rd party IRs to Element via suite, but in phone app they do not show up. How can I switch between them and the stock ones via the app?
The mobile app currently only displays the names of the 3rd party IRs that have been uploaded to the unit via the desktop Suite. The ability to load 3rd party IRs via the mobile app is currently not supported, but will be most likely added in a future update.
Can you use wireless headphones since it has a USB port ????
Will it work at the end of a pedalchain, or is it only usable with an Instrument?
I am using the H-Booster, X-Ultra and H-Luminal C.?
Works great in a pedalchain. This pedal is awesome.
Hi guys! I want to know if I can use the pedal like a interface with any software, like ableton, for example.
Thanks from Argentina!!
Yes, you can :)
Just be aware that if you send your DAW's output through the XLR out, it will come out along with the internally processed signal from the input. You will get some comb filtering as the two audio signals are blended in together. The headphone out, however you can control the amount of "mix" with the middle slider. You also have control over what the output is within your DAW.
I was hoping that the XLR out could be isloated so that it could be just the DAW output only. Maybe in a future firmware version it can have that option?
Now that it has power amp simulation and an equalizer, can it be used as a stand-alone preamp? I mean, can I go to a gig with just my bass and the element, and be completely fine?
Yes, the Element can also be used as a standalone preamp for gigging without additional pedals.
@@darkglasselectronics that's great guys, now I'm even more convinced to pull the trigger on one 😁
@Anthony Farrish thank you very much for your input man. That's exactly what I wanted to know.
As Element has 2 physical 6.3mm inputs, will you sometimes allow it to process stereo signal or is it and will it always be mono 6.3mm input processing unit?
It has one 1/4 instrument jack (mono) one 3.5mm stereo. The other 1/4jack is a parallel output (dry out)
@@MarcosBarilatti I see. But even the other jack (dry out) can be used as an input from an amp. I understand, that currently in any scenario only one of 1/4 jacks can be used as an input. But I ask, whether there is a firmware upgrade possibility to mark both 1/4 sockets as mono inputs and process them to all available outputs as stereo input signal.
The 6.3mm inputs are physically connected in parallel, so they will always provide a mono signal.
@@darkglasselectronics And what about using 2 elements and connecting them via aux-in (headphone out to aux in), would that allow us to listen to stereo via headphones? Probably not, as we would need to be allowed to blend both signals to sides.
@@darkglasselectronics Hi, I connected my raw stereo line level signal via aux and I mixed it with processed main mono input, and it sounds very nice in headphones, but I wonder: Can we get the options to: 1, record aux input via usb (I would like to be able to record my stereo aux sound as well, not just mono input) 2, apply cabsim onto aux input? It would be nice if phone app allowed us to do these changes. Man, any of these options would improve this already nice stereo experience I get via headphones with Element. Edit: I see that aux can already be recorded, which is great! What about the 2nd wish?:)
Can you finally connect it to a wireless headset?
there would be latency issue, so it is nearly impossible, unless you use specific low latency codec to connect the device to wireless headohones, and both device and headphones need to support the same codec, and still there would be slightly noticeable latency. Anyways, element is bt receiver not bt transmitter, right? So no, you can not connect bt headphones to it.
Without a Dingwall Bass, this tone a re impossible :)
Not digging why DG tends to use XLR outputs on the ... pedals.
Enable GPS? Why the fuck does a cabsim need to know my position?!
I really looked forward to this pedal, but was so disappointed. Barely has enough volume and no one needs another interface.
You have to turn the volume under the EQ to 2. Default is 1. Make sure you turn the head on as well. It comes right alive!
What if they don’t have an interface to start with.
@@isaacandhismusic1153 no need my friend. Just set it up on your computer.
🤌
Does the audio from bluetooth or the aux in come out through the XLR? Or is it only through the headphone out?
Can the headphone amp drive high impedance headphones?
Did you find out any info about what you're asking? I'm having the same doubts
@@despinosap I ended up getting one used. BT and aux do not come out through XLR, only though the headphone outs.
When hooked up as a digital audio interface you can route the audio through the various outs, but keep in mind the internally processed signal from the input will always come out of the XLR out.
@@DarrenYung thank you! It seems to be what I’ve expected. I bought one finally too. Very excited to be what it’s capable of!
