Thank you for another fun reaction, and for the kind words! 🤘 Since you asked for info, here's a little who's who of the band: Misa: bass; well known for her appreciation of alcohol. Akane: drums, acting band leader; boasts about her eating capacity. Kanami: lead guitar, main composer; has a huge girl crush on... Saiki: lead vocals; too cold to reciprocate. Miku: founder, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, main lyricist, and PR spokespigeon.
Love your reactions to Band-Maid... also that you don't talk over the complete video, but just silently enjoy it at times... please keep the Band-Maid reactions coming, cause they're SO FUCKIN' AWESOME! I was at their concert about 3 weeks ago and it was one of the best experiences in my entire life, they are really THAT DAMN GOOD! I'm looking forward to more reactions about them in future :)
So glad to hear that the girls being pretty influences how much we like their songs :) I'm sure that was in Miku's mind too when she created the band and told the girls to wear maid outfits.
London was Beyond Awesomeness. I got VIP ticket and was showing them, my live gig drawing from 2018. The guys around me told their reaction as I was somewhat overawed!
Short bio The maid thingy hahaha, that's actually the whole reason of why they're together, the rythm guitarist, Kobato Miku (Rythm Guitar, vocals, 2 ponytails hair style ), she's the one that started the project, she worked as a Maid on a Maid coffee in japan, she's really into it, she REALLY REALLY liked the whole concept of dressing like that, and talk like "Hello master here is your food" etc, she thought that crerating a band that plays rock and heavy metal with that attitude and those outfit would be awesome, so she saw Kanami (Main Guitar) doing song covers on the internet and she contected her, and talked her into wearing the maid outfit, they recorded demos, Kaname knew Akane (Drums) and talked to her about the project, despite having second thoughts about the maid stuff she agreed to join, Akane knew Misa (bass) from the Music University so she invited her as well, it is known that Misa just like the rest wasn't too excited about the maid stuff, they actually had their debut as 4 with Kobato on vocals, after that she decided that they needed "twin vocals" because that would be cool, so they contacted and auditioned Saiki (main vocal), knowing how she was, they didn't tell her about the whole maid business, according to Kobato and Siki when she showed up in the studio and Kobato gave her the outfit she said something similar to "Are you fucking with me?" and throw the whole thing away, they eventually talked her into wearing it. Funny thing, when the whole thing started, Kobato was the one that wanted to do the band, the only one wanting to wear maid outfits, and she didn't even know how to play guitar, you can see her on some acoustic sets out there in youtube basically struggling with the chords
Miku has progressed on guitar wonderfully since they started thanks to Kanami. Her rhythm playing can be heard clearly on many of their newer live shows. She even does a great pick drag on a live version of 'Take Me Higher'.
Straight up the best rock band in the world today. I have a picture of Akane (John Bonham reincarnated ) with Jimmy Page. He is a huge fan of theirs and so am I. Five gorgeous girls from Japan have saved Rock for the world. God bless them.
To continue the Japanese theme: Check Asterism. The typical review is Rising Moon created when the lead guitarist was, at the oldest, 16 . They have several other "Battle Sessions" which might be studio-demos. All instrumental, although a couple of live gigs have Maki doing vocals.
Nice reaction! How about watch "Glory" next time. I love BAND-MAID and next month I will go to their live. But they are not surprisingly known in Japan because they are not introduced at all on main 5 channels of Japanese TV. I am disappointed that they are little-known despite making high quality music. Japanese general people also don't know SCANDAL and other female bands...ahhh... Could you watch ASTERISM "Rising Moon"! They are a monster metal instrumental band with an average age of 16. Especially the performance of main guitarist Hal-Ca is eye candy!
Band Maid are awesome fun - if you like them recommend you try Take My Chance by Doll$Boxx, Shadowmaker by Lovebites and Black Pentagram by Unlucky Morpheus!
Hello, you seemed to have paused your Band Maid reactions? Surprisingly, RUclips have not taken down the DVD which came with the special addition CD of World Domination. There are individual songs as well as the entire DVD. A good source for you to continue to make your Band Maid reaction videos.
Yeah, if you guys like Band-Maid this much, i think you'll LOVE Doll$Boxx! Similar style band but more of a "mega-group" deal. Comprised of the band Gaccaric Spin and a woman who is the lead vocalist of like 2 or 3 groups. They're SO GOOD.
I prefer Alone more than this(Dice is a close 2nd) but this is just as a good cause they're very similar in pace. You guys should react to Alone cause it's just as fun as this song.
If you liked this one then prepare to be utterly amazed. These were professionally shot from one of their live shows ruclips.net/video/YeiIju_t1D8/видео.html ruclips.net/video/N7BQCkUb4SI/видео.html
Scandal is another great all girl band. You should check out Platform Syndrome and Koisuru Universe. Scandal is another great all girl band. You should check out Platform Syndrome, Take Me Out, Koisuru Universe. They've evolved changed their style as their age so with regards to that I especially recommend Love Survive/Shoujo, Departure/Awanai Tsuridemo Genki Da Ne/Kagen No Tsuki and Image/Standard(Their perfect world live performance is amazing) . Tbh they're probably the highest profile female j rock band and for good reason. They've been doing this since high school and have never fail to rock. You'll have fun checking out their stuff. They always do international tours. (Even one to my home country, sadly I'll be leaving a week or so before it happens) There's also a clip showing Scandal's music through the years > VN7dKh0Il9U Polkadotstingray is also another great band, they have a very distinct sound. I recommend サレンダー(Sarenda) , ichidaiji and 夜明けのオレンジ(Yoake no orenji). Well tbh every track they've pushed out are hitters. Even the once they've done for commercials including Google and Mizuho
The band usually calls the fans as Goshujin-sama and Ojou-sama (or Masters and Princess, in english), as a reference to their Maid gimmick. So the fanbase adopted this moniker :)
Here are 2 SCANDAL live tracks. Please check em out. Queen of Trumps @ Space Ranger, this was their first single when they were teenagers on an Indie label after they broke it was Budokan and Osaka Hall and world touring @
Unfortunately, relatively few Japanese bands play outside of the West Coast. It happens from time to time, but it's pretty rare. Band-Maid has played the USA twice, once in Seattle and once in San Francisco. I flew out from Atlanta to see them last September in San Francisco, and it was absolutely worth it. It was part of a Japanese music convention, so their set was pretty short, but it was intense with only a second or two between each song. Everyone I know who went talked about how wiped out they were after the show. Anyway, if we end up at the same show, I'll buy y'all a beer :P
saldiven2009 I hope they come back to SF, though. One of the audience members was kinda rude cause I guess he thought their sound checks took too long. But yeah, Band Maid was there both days and also did Q&A, took photos with fans and other stuff so if you went to Jpop Summit you got to see plenty of Band Maid all weekend. Very nice girls.
They had a drag queen J-Pop lip sync contest right before Band-Maid's set that went a good 15+ minutes over schedule, and the venue had a hard cut-off time for when the event had to be over. So, the ladies had to rush in getting their equipment out. Their sound check was actually really quick as they didn't have any time to mess around, and they couldn't do the sound-check early because the stage couldn't be set up ahead of time. If they really thought the sound check went too long, I would find that confusing, because the entire set-up and sound check probably wasn't more than 15-20 minutes, and that was starting from an empty stage that didn't even have the drum kit ready, much less all the amps, speakers, pedal boards, etc. Maybe they were talking about the earlier even that went too long.
No, I was there and everyone in the audience was cool, except for that one guy who yelled a rude remark at them because of the sound check. Hopefully they don't speak any English and didn't understand. As for the concert, it was great. It was the last show of the night and mostly the Band Maid fans and metal fans were left. Watching them onstage inside that big pier warehouse over the bay gave it a really cool rave-like ambiance. Also great was the way Kanami and the other girls performed during the show. It's a shame that nobody filmed it - the music videos don't do it justice.
Great reaction. Band-Maid are AWESOME. You should watch a live song called "Play" ruclips.net/video/YeiIju_t1D8/видео.html and enjoy a live performance.
Thank you for another fun reaction, and for the kind words! 🤘

Seeing them at the Echoplex in LA on September 30th. Can't wait.
London was Beyond Awesomeness. I got VIP ticket and was showing them, my live gig drawing from 2018. The guys around me told their reaction as I was somewhat overawed!
Oh, this is funny. At the beginning of the song, one of you says, "They just bring it!"
"Just Bring It" is the name of their last album.
saldiven2009 didn’t even realize I did that haha makes sense though, the record has been in constant rotation for a week or so, great album!!

We need a name for Band-Maid fans... like "Maidenheads" or somthing.
Omg! I can't stop laughing to these two comments. Thanks for making my day.
The band usually calls the fans as Goshujin-sama and Ojou-sama (or Masters and Princess, in english), as a reference to their Maid gimmick. So the fanbase adopted this moniker :)
That figures, I suppose. Thanks for that information.
They also call their shows, servings because of their maid gimmick. I am kinda hoping they lose it. Eventually
Maid-iacs.
Here are 2 SCANDAL live tracks. Please check em out.

So, the next time they come to the USA, are you gonna travel to see them?
saldiven2009 Totally! We are just a few hours from most major cities they would play in, that is of course if they play the east coast
