(This short shows us why Mr Krabs never lets Patrick work at his restaurant.)

After SpongeBob's house floods because of Patrick's stupidity SpongeBob comes home to see Gary reading Patrick a bedtime story as if he hasn't been neglected and suffering from hunger all episode. You’re right.As for the first one,there may be a few reasons.One,Spongebob felt that he has partial ownership of the toy because it was his money.Two,Spongebob probably expected Patrick to share the toy as a friend.And three,Spongebob is known to be obsessed with anything related to Krusty Krab.

I liked how goofy Patrick was, but I truthfully never actually liked him as a character.
Modern SpongeBob really is just nasty isn't it? The animation is so over the top and the gross out moments are practically in every scene. Its just a horrible show now.

Patrick has no doubt gone through the worst change in the series. Mr Krabs has always been greedy, Sandy has always been into science, SpongeBob becomes a bit of a creep in episodes like Boating Buddies, but it's still not as bad as Patrick's drastic change. He went from the lovable idiot to an unlikable asshole.
