THANK YOU! Thank you Thank you!!!!!! That is exsactly what I needed to know!
Every other review I found is so worried about spoilers, they dont give me enough information to care about the story.
I'm not overly interested in sci-fi. That it is set in space and involves Alians actually made it harder for me to get in to. After force reading a few pages here and there, trying to push through until I got hooked by the characters, I'm finally excited!

Mistake: The name of the ship Kira and crew are on is the Wallfish not the Wallpole smh

I have been waiting for someone to review this so thanks! I want to pick it up but since I haven’t read anything else by this author I wanted to watch a review or two before spending money on it.

    1. I didn't know the narrator was Jennifer Hale from Mass Effect! That's so awesome and makes me want to checkout the audiobook now. Love the mass Effect Series
    2. We definitely read the Eragon Series. It started off strong, but kinda waned in the last couple books imo (TG). So was a bit skeptical about this.
    3. Great video man! You've definitely peaked my interest on this!
    4. Last favorite Sci-fi book would have to be Thrawn series (Star Wars) or Brandon Sanderson's The Reckoners trilogy.

This book sounds way more interesting than I assumed it would be. Great review!

I quite enjoyed his Eragon series - nothing all that special, objectively speaking, but I captured my imagination as a teenager for sure. So I was interested to see what this new book was gonna be like! Sounds like it might be worth a look. Glad you liked the characters and plot, and the worldbuilding definitely sounds pretty promising!

I read Paolini's The Inheritance Cycle when I was a teenager and really enjoyed it although I don't remember much. I was so excited when I found out about this book, the cover is gorgeous! I'm glad you enjoyed it overall!

I’m currently 30% through and I’m enjoying it a lot. Kira isn’t a great character but overall the plot and worldbuilding is very interesting

The Expanse is a great sci-fi series and so is The Interdependency series by John Scalzi. Scalzi's series is 3 short books so you can get through the entire series pretty fast. The Expanse is definitely more substantial.

This book sounds great. I love a science fiction with great characters. I seems like a really long book, but I may have to check it out.

I recently devoured The Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells. Sadly the books are short so I read them all far too quickly and I'll have to wait till next year for the next book.

Even though I don’t read sci fi- yet, I always like hearing about the plots and storylines and this idea of this suit sounds so intriguing. I’m with you on endings Justin, they don’t always need to be wrapped up with a tidy bow happily ever after.

Wow! 4.5 out of 5 stars is a lot! Now I'm intrigued...I wasn't a huge Eragon fan but maybe I'll love this grown-up Paolini

The Murderbot Diaries novella's by Martha Wells are super fun :) Of course anything by N.K Jemesin or Nnedi Okorafor. I also secretly liked The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - they're YA but the AI is brilliant.

I've been very skeptical of this just bc it's someone who was popular for one thing but do they actually have what it takes to do something new that's still good? Nice to see a good review.
The fifth season is probably the most recent fav scifi I read and really liked.

I recently finished A Pale Light in the Black by non-binary author K.B. Wagers and would recommend it. It's a sci-fi book that has similar vibes to The Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet but with more action/plot. It's about a found family space "coast guard" crew with a competition and mystery thrown in.

This might be the first time Justin reviews a sci-fi book. By the way, the last sci-fi book I finished was Leviathan Wakes By James S.A. Corey.

Nothing comes close to "The sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell but it's not for everyone. "Stories of your life and others" by Ted Chiang is a collection of short sci-fi stories that really stayed with me.

I've just finished Adrian Tchaikovsky's amazing 'Children of Ruin', a sequel to 'Children of Time'.
I can't think of another SF writer who writes about aliens and their cultures better (not even Hal Clement's classic 'Mission of Gravity'). A great story and a stunning imaginative achievement.
