Repairing Daikin E3 Error

- E3 Fault - High Pressure Switch Activation
This is stating that there has been a high pressure error on this system. This could be due to fan motor or air flow problems but it could also be an issue with the actual high pressure switch.
In this video I diagnose the High Pressure Switch to be faulty and I show you the steps I take to make that diagnosis. I also show you how I replace the actual switch and the steps involved.

Thanks for pointing out just how stupid the HP switch is on the Daikin units,, I have replaced so many and every time I just shake my head in disbelief as to why they designed it that way where it requires a gas removal process..Yet the HP sensor switch can be removed in minutes by screwing off and screwing back on..
It makes no sense to me either. So stupid!

How did u manage to get the last of the gas in? I though the last would go in the suction when on?... I'm trying to learn ac, just incase iv missing something..

So after evacuating the system, I weigh in the refrigerant. In the perfect case, there is enough pressure in the bottle to add all the gas in. If not, then I run the system and add it slowly through the suction line.

Do you have any information regarding this recurring error code?
Unit 0 concerns the outer group?

Sorry mate I don’t really understand what your talking about. Daikin E3 is a high pressure switch. Something is causing the system to have high head pressure OR the pressure switch is faulty.

I have the same error coming up but mine stays on for about 40mins and the top fan doesn’t kick in either
It’s a high pressure switch so unfortunately the only way to diagnose this is to reset the system, and run it with some gauges on the unit. If the pressure is indeed getting to high then it could be caused by the top fan not running (if on cooling mode). However if it is coming up with this error when the pressures are fine then I’d put my money on the HPS being faulty.

No Schrader. You have to reclaim all the refrigerant to change it over. Crazy is correct haha.
