Hawkfrost is brambleclaw's brother and and when tigerstar died he went to Brambleclaw in a dream telling him to kill firestar but he refused and turned away from him because fireheart told bramblepaw and Tawnypaw about how tigerstar did bad stuff like trying to kill Bluestar the leader and Tawnypaw went to shadowclan with Tigerstar and when he died she still stayed but when Tigerstar came to Hawkfrost in a dream he listened but when Hawkfrost went to kill firestar brambleclaw stood up for his leader and attacked and killed Hawkfrost that's what happened then Firestar made Brambleclaw deputy and then when Firestar died Brambleclaw became Bramblestar....

For those curious about why Hawk/Moth were in Riverclan, you have to remember that when there father, Tigerstar, was leader of Shadowclan, he was in an alliance with Leapordstar and the rest of Riverclan. Hope this helps. *There mother, Sasha, didn't want to be in a clan herself, but she thought it would keep her kits safer*
Scourge and Ashfur are my favorites due to their nice back story. Ashfur's scene w/ the fire is also very emotional, one of the most emotional in the series. The thing that topped above it was probably Hollyleaf revealing their past in the gathering.

Hawkfrost's biggest problem was trusting and loving his father. He only wanted tigerstar to be proud of him by whatever means possible
