No. You can reach 50% without doing the online events.

When i want to do the last race in the seasonal championship the game says i need to download the race and connect to horizon life, how do i do this?
You need to be online to win the car sorry.
I was in an online session but I still got the same notification .

I restarted the game and another race popped up so i finally have the car now😀 thanks for your replies.

You can get the car in about 1 hour worth of racing. You need to complete all Seasonal PR Stunts and Events to unlock.
