peace deals have a lot to due with how much a country contributed to the war effort, in this case the soviets lost nearly as many men as the axis powers combined. casualties is one of the factors that determines how much stuff you get in peace deal.

They solo'ed the entire Axis.. Which is pretty hard in most games. But they made use of the allied lend lease.. They didint even utilize that much of the stalin line..
after italy joined the axis the unit and industry stats didnt change at all edit: this was explained in the description, thanks aachen for bringing this to my attention
also, you would expect manpower to go up in large noticible jumps when units are deployed, but thats not what happens. manpower will go up at a certain rate for a bit, then go down at a certain rate

There is no way Russia and Germany are ever going to recover from that. It would take 100 or so years at least when taking into account civilian casualties. I wonder how life in the Soviet Union would be in this world.
@@leekirrane3753 Russia still feels the POPULATION effects, it killed almost an entire generation of Russians, even today it's demographics are totally screwed up. The UK suffered relatively minorly thanks to Montgomery.

That low birth rate would take years to bring back to pre ww2 levels unless every family had multiple children like 5+. With a poor economy thats less likely. Im high right now lol i just wanted to share my thoughts

Also, if we could see the entire world map at the end then that would be pretty cool.

Love your timelapse videos. Plus this shows how Axis is the weakest faction in the beginning but the allies were to scared to fight resulting in Germany becoming the strongest.
This is the best of these kinds of videos, not only do they show a realistic and amazing timelapse. But they show units, factions and even the industry and casualties of the factions, this is amazing and the realism and accuracy towards the real WW2 is kind of shocking in terms of the borders, casualties and advancements made by the factions. Great job!
Great simulation! But the funniest part is all the comments from people who are whining that it's "not accurate"! They seem to think this is supposed to document the historical WW2, instead of being a timelapse of Hearts of Iron 4!

These videos have gotten so good through the additional information bars and the troops moving around. The only thing still missing to me is a better look on how the peace deals turn out.
I loved seeing the Allied wide front strategy towards the end. But also, when the allies held 1-2 ports in Belgium/ Netherlands and getting pushed I’ve never clenched my butt quite as hard.
The video was amazing! It shows you have a lot of dedication and effort to not only make it easier to see the divisions but adding the stats as well was great. One recommendation i have is to make the casualty graph only show the casualties that year rather than having it accumulative, that way you can easily see when there where higher casualties for different factions in each year. Also, for a cool future project, though it might be hard to do, you could make a timelaps of an actual multiplayer game, i think it would be pretty neat. Still an incredible video, keep doing what you enjoy!
The videos are getting better and better, however I do suggest you make the overlays not transparent. There's no loss making them solid since what they cover is the ocean or edge of Ireland.
paradox said it would be "portraying war crimes" same way you can't starve a country/region by cutting off the food or by nuking them. Thats stupid because its a ww2 game (war crimes galore) and their other games like eu4 and ck2 feature ethnic cleansing (culture conversion) and genocide (raising holdings)
I’ve always wanted to learn how to play this game, but seeing as my patience and intelligence seems to be on an equal level to my shoe size it’s unlikely to ever become reality
Fun fact: The Americans wanted to invade the Pas-de-Calais region so they can end the war quicker, but Eisenhower chose Normandy as the real D-Day invasion site because, If I’m correct, he took advice from a British officer about the risks invading the Calais region, since it’s only 30km from Dover (if I’m correct, with a powerful telescope, you can actually see both coastlines).

That's what annoys me about this game. Peace deals don't seem to work as well as in EU4.
