    Another great video, Thank you Doctor! I have colitis, so I can't/wont eat red meat! I eat all the greens you mentioned, Kale is full of iron, broccoli too! I am constantly on the move every day - Am a carer for my wife and we have garden/s that keep me busy, I walk to the centre and to my bowling club two days a week, I do around 10.000/30.000 steps a day, I eat fish most days, but stay away from farmed salmon and tuna! My wife opens all our windows first thing in the mornings, as I put my padded jacket on! We live in Scotland! We have a few plants in the house, so we are doing all the right things in our old age!

    Walking outdoors in a natural enviroment is the best activity we can do to enhance our mitochondria biosynthesis, immune response and overall health. Steady walking regulates appetite, reduces sugar cravings, stimulates blood circulation, balances brain chemicals, relieves hypertension, reduces inflammation, minimizes cortisol levels and anxiety.

    • @marisa9600
      @marisa9600 5 дней назад +1

      Yes, but what is the process? What is happening in your body when you are walking that impacts all of those variables? That is the knowledge I needed to help me finally learn how to lose weight. Walking is definitely a tool, but it is one of many tools you use to help bring glucose down, which in turn brings insulin down. When insulin is down, glucogon can kick in. Insulin is the hormone that stores glucose in fat, liver and muscle cells AND moves glucose into every cell in the body. In opposition, glucogon is the hormone that breaks down glucose from fat cells for energy (ie fat burning). Walking is a great way to help lowering insulin, but it is not the only way. As you mentioned, it is also a great way to lower/manage stress, which helps lower cortisol (which impacts insulin resistance). But again, there are many ways. Walking is great, but it is not the only tool to accomplish those things, which is why I appreciate this video. There are many ways, and you have to find what works for you.

    It's not complicated, just skip breakfast in order to fast intermittently. Don't worry, you won't die. Most people actually acclimate very quickly. I also resistance train or perform some type of aerobic exercise prior to my lunch most days. That will increase autophogy/mitophogy exponentially. I also eat until I'm comfortably full. Additionally, I consume a carnivore style diet with fruit, fermented veggies, a little dark chocolate and my guilty pleasure which is peanut butter. I'll also consume some leafy green and/or cruciferous veggies now and then. Diet, of course, is a whole other topic. Ultimately, I'd say avoid All ultra processed foods, especially seed oils. I don't have an issue with a little avocado and olive oil once in a while. Ultimately, just eat a whole food diet that you like and which works for "you". I would also recommend researching vegetable consumption and bioavailability. The fact is that yes, vegetables are loaded with vitamins and minerals, But our digestive systems aren't designed to absorb and utilize them. However, ruminant animals "are" designed to absorb and utilize them, 6 we're designed to absorb and utilize the flesh (I know it's off-putting to say) of ruminant animals. All that being said, there are definitely human beings that thrive on vegetarian diets, but they're rare. I'm not an academically trained nutritionist, but I've done a good bit of research and a lot of experimentation on myself and these are my opinions.

    The studies on intermittent fasting show no difference in longevity and higher incidence of heart disease. No surprise because when you don't eat for a long period of time you are producing more cortisol...stress hormone. Calorie restriction, in general, has been shown to be the operating factor...not time restricted eating.
