In this continuity, hippolyta might be a combination of the original hippolyta and Persephone, so That would explain how hades and hippolyta were together at one time, it also doesn’t show any of hades other children other than Diana, that is if any others do exist in this universe.the one thing I don’t like about dc comics now is how they try to portray hades as some kind of monster while at the same time trying to portray zeus as a saint when we all know it’s the other way around, they even condone zeus cheating on his wife and sleeping around. In truth hades would’ve made a much better father to Diana than zeus ever would. The fact that they changed everything in the comics and made Diana the daughter of the god of cheating is ridiculous. I mean her entire race is supposed to despise men yet her mother was completely fine with being the mistress of the god of cheating makes no sense, plus the fact that they made the amazons into literal pirates who would kill innocent men just to get what they want, not to mention that they had no qualms about killing their own children if they were born a boy, if it wasn’t for Hephaestus they would’ve literally drowned them. So the amazons are no longer the pure immortal warrior women they once were, now they are murdering, plundering, pirates willing to sleep with to become pregnant and then kill any man they come across even their own children. Nowadays because of the changes they are basically black widows, except black widow spiders don’t instantly kill their children just because of their gender. Also zeus is just like his father, just look up the story of Athena’s birth, while her mother was pregnant with her she predicted that there son would be even stronger than zeus, so what did zeus do, he tricked her into turning into a fly, then he ate her in order to prevent her prediction from coming true, while at least Kronos waited till after his children were born because he truly loved his wife and didn’t want to hurt or kill her and he was also completely faithful to his wife, so in truth zeus is worse than Kronos ever was, because just like and worse than his father, if he suspected that his child would be more powerful than him even for a second he would not hesitate to not only eat his child, but he would also eat the mother of said child as well in order to prevent them from being born. So if zeus at any time had thought that Diana or her brother would be more powerful than him, he would’ve killed them and their mother before they were born, the only reason Diana’s brother survived is because his mother actually cared about him, unlike the other amazons and their sons and maybe she somehow knew he would eventually be more powerful than zeus and was afraid that if he was given to Hephaestus that zeus might realize this and kill him, so instead of giving him to Hephaestus she instead gave him to one of the argonauts who was also a friend of Hercules that’s why no one including zeus knew of his existence, so I do at least like the fact about Diana’s brother and that zeus was killed.
I absolutely love the idea of Hades being Diana's father. It makes perfect sense given how Diana has a lot of his personality. She is generally kind but ruthless when she feels she needs to be. Besides, I'm tired of everyone being Zeus's bastard offspring.
I dont know why Hades out of all the gods is made out to be the bad guy in so much modern media. Out of all the Greek gods, he was actually one of the better ones.
@duanegipson8672 I mean the devil is a different case, unlike Hades who in historic myths was generally less of an abusive asshat to people, the devil in Christian mythology actually hates humanity and desires their suffering. Unless you can point to somewhere in history where he was depicted differently?
In several films and series, Hades is portrayed as an evil and conquering god, who covets the Olympian throne. but in mythology IT IS NOT like this, Hades is NOT INTERESTED in taking control of Olympus he has a kingdom of his own, he not only dominates Tartarus (where damned souls reside, he is not the Christian devil), and he is also the lord of the Fields Elysium (the Greek paradise, where blessed souls reside) and last but not least, HADES IS THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE AGAINST A POSSIBLE ESCAPE OF THE TITANS IMPRISONED IN THE HELL!! So, my dear film and TV directors and writers, STOP MAKING HADES LOOK EVIL!!!

Hi, its me Bruce Wayne. This story is crazy. I love it. It reminds me of the real wonder woman. She was indeed handmade by me originally and possibly other. I used to be a mad scientist that created people and gods.
The irony; Zeus ordered Wonder Woman to go to Hades defeat Felix Faust and Hippolyta was like " the Gods decreed that you were exiled" Girl how tf Diana going to get in trouble for completing a mission given to her by the same Gods that exiled her
The point of the story was to highlight the fact that rules can sometimes no longer be useful or serve the purpose it was created for in the first place, since society changes and new solutions are needed to new problems. Also, it points to the fact of the hypocrisy that males that helped saved Paradise Island was recognized as heroes, but they also weren't allowed on the island in the first place, even though they could help the island, but also represents new challenges for its inhabitants. That is what good, subtle storytelling looks like.
One takeaway from watching this episode that I still remember today many years later, is that Hippolyta was ungrateful and sexist as hell. Somehow, people coming to save her and her people from demise was bad because most of the heroes just happened to be Male? Sick. I would've never been apart of that rescue.
Two beings who can tank world-ending attacks...and yet either one of them would be worried about a light pole....a light pole. It would be hilarious if it even made any sense...about as much sense as Son Goku tanking universe-ending attacks, but can be injured by glass or common ray guns...you gotta love the inconsistencies that writers write into stories sometimes.
The light pole "save" was meant to highlight Superman's instinct to immediately jump into action when something bad is about to happen. Also, just because the light pole wouldn't hurt Diana, doesn't mean it couldn't catch her off-guard and stun her in a crucial moment, especially since her attention was somewhere else. Also, the point of showing how powerful heroes can be felled by even simple attacks (that they were never even considering of developing defenses against) highlights that NO hero or villain is "unstoppable". That would have made for very bad, boring stories.
Is it only me who thinks they changed the famous villain Ares into Hades in this show? If you study both characters, comic vs show, they look a lot alike. Still, I loved the shows version of Hades.

Those gems look familiar; they look just like the red Sisyphean Stones from DC Online game.
If there was a time to waive the 'no men' rule, at least one time, that should have been it.
I wonder what would have happened if the traffic pole hit Wonder Woman? 3 days in hospital maybe? 😂😂😂
JLA/JLU’s my favorite Wonder Woman/Diana iteration, actually the only version of her I like.
If a traffic light took out Wonder Woman I’d quit lol
I watched this as well and sorry did not get her being terrified . She seemed to have a lot of anger at him instead.
Is it only me who thinks they changed the famous villain Ares into Hades in this show? If you study both characters, comic vs show, they look a lot alike. Still, I loved the shows version of Hades.
Hippolyta was always super hypocritical.
Imagine if Lucifer Morningstar introduced himself as Wonder Womans Father.
7:26 John is a statue and also he's not a statue walking with the group look to the left of the screen you'll see the statue just look around and you'll see.
My lesson in this video is whatever you faces an enemies, if you only one you cannot defeat them, but if you with your friends you all fight the enemies get?❤
The light post would have bent around WW’s head. Superman didn’t have to save her.
That’s stupid!!!!!! How the heck, they tell (Diana )her she can’t come back that’s bull. And she save every one.
You should say "Make sure you are in the right, before making noise and trying to change things." If you are wrong, you only cause trouble for other people.
