So privileged to have seen him live. Best concert of my 67 years of life. Leonard came to me when i was 13, after the death of my mother and brother within 3 days of each other. He has been with me ever since.
I saw him as well, at Waldbühne Berlin in 2012. Very grateful! I was in my early 20s then and now can appreciate it even more. Wish he was still around writing.
Thank you for sharing this. This celebration is done with beauty , grace and elegance... It warms my Heart with love , and will forever ! Thank you Leonard .. and not for one last time... But for eternity !
I loved that an American, Aaron Neville, who brilliantly covered Leonard's Bird on a Wire, made it a point to request that he be able to honour Cohen with his version of the song at the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Class act
As famous as he was he was not properly and duly acknowledged. His combination of wit, humility, and wisdom cannot be surpassed. What a great talent and classy human being. The planet was bettered by his presence for sure.
I acknowledged him Barbara. He inspired me to become a songwriter. I always believed that lyrics could be very powerful and even change folk's lives. I swear Leonard Cohen knew this. I think anybody who discovers they can write and create pictures in folk's minds realises just how powerful that can be. One of my friends plays Leonard's concerts on the loop..my god does Leonard speak to my friend....and still speaks to us all. Can he be any more appreciated than that. I, for one, don't think he can. His wit was very cheeky and extremely amusing. Does a human being get any better than that?...that's your call Barbara. I'll certainly miss no more interviews with him...i always looked forward to those. Kindest regards, Sonic Foxx(Songwriter).
Thanks for sharing this. It's nice to find a complete decent quality version of this. I guess you rescued this from the Much Music / CITY-TV beta tape archives? Peace

What a beautiful post. Me being 72 yo, I have seen our Leonard live in 2008 twice. In Amsterdam as well as in Rotterdam. Memories of the heart.

What a great guy. I'll keep on loving him till I die myself.❤
Wow! Leonard’s songs sounded so good being sung by others! How handsome he was! Funny, humble and brilliant- he will forever leave his legacy.
