200hp in B110 Sunny/Datsun 1200 ain't no joke! Especially being ~125 pounds (57kg) lighter than stock. It's difficult to remove that much weight from a 1200, they were built really light.
@@HillClimbMonsters I had one with an A14 and five speed, roll cage, and street legal that weighed 1601 pounds. The cage saved my life, but not the car.
@QuinnBoone that's the one thing I like about living in South Africa, Datsuns are dirt cheap. The cars were built locally and in mass. The A14 engine for example was in production until 2008 where it was used in the B110 pickup which was also in production from the mid 70s until 2008. The costs are starting to rise a little bit due to a large number of people around the world buying South African Datsuns, due to the dry climate it means rust is minimal as well as being cheaper and better built than Datsuns in other countries. I picked up a decent B210 for basically nothing and raced it for 2 years. I use an A14 block but with an A15 head and crank. 138hp at the wheels. Now I'm building a 1200gx four door. Which was also easy to find.
...come sempre il peso della macchina fa la differenza!!! 600 kg con 200 cv è un ottimo rapporto peso potenza! 😎👍🏻 Gran bella macchina e pilota non male!!!
My 1200 coupe runs A15 with mild cam, port work, jetted weber dgv, extractors, big exhaust. I can vouch that the awesome power to weight ratio and rev range allow it to embarrass many a 'fast car'.
I autocrossed my little Datsun 1200 Sunny Coupe with SCCA for the first time. The engine had over 140K on it, had been sitting for 8 years without being started, had new dual carbs that had not been tuned yet, had poor tires for autocross, and had absolutely no mid-range throttle due to the untuned carbs. I pretty much had to keep the thing either floored or at low rpms to keep running...GUESS WHAT? I bested the times of a Carrerra that just had a $23K close ratio racing transmission installed. This with the little 1400cc motor that I personally rebuilt 25 years earlier and hadn't touched since. Drive a Datsun 1200, then decide!
I like how the fluids are in the dashboard, you know, so you can check their levels in the middle of a run. Absolutely mad build.
Now this is a serious JDM classic. Definitely need more vids like this. 👍🇯🇵
We might have some up our sleeve.. ;)
This car just feels fun to driveeee and that sound goes very well with it
It is a proper Classic Race Car 👍

Well, with determination and penty of panel substitution it is possible :P

I'd love to find an old 210 or one like this but sadly they're either non existent or when they are, very expensive to acquire...

How do you make 200hp in a B110 sunny ?
Such a scenic hill climb with an amazing noise coming from that engine 👌
Leadfoot Festival brings some very unique machinery..hopefully we´ll see it return on 2023 ;)
@@HillClimbMonsters it would definitely be worth the trip that's for sure !
freekin awsome.
never seen a datsun like that.
I used to drive a B210 in high school
and it was fun but not fast.
that one is a beast😎
Guess when they´re fast, they´re still fun :P
Oh man , proud Datsuns owner here.
205bhp...seriously impressive!
I hope you're serious. It's the same power/weight ratio as a 1300kg 400hp car, and anyone would find that impressive.
It's from a lil 1.6l, that's what's really impressive
Not at all.
@@2zz98 unless it's bored it's only 1500
@@joe125ful It has the same power to weight as if you put an ls3 in a civic, I'd say that's pretty impressive.
That little thing @#$%in FLIES! Such a cool car, a true pocket rocket!
Wow! That Datsun really flys. Looks like it could use a little more tire to help with grip.
What a beautiful track and car👍😃
Leadfoot compliments these Classic Monsters beautifully ;)
Such an awesome build.Driver is properly crazy and fast.

@Liam McMahon
Whoa! Indeed.
Gorgeous little car
Revving to the moon 🌙

It is rare, maybe first time, for me to watch Sunny coupe in overseas motor sport although it is quite popular in Japan. Nice video👍 どうもありがとう!
Thanks ;)

This is so cool! It’s like a Japanese Kadett or Escort!
That´s pretty much the perfect comparison... !
I've never seen a GX coupé shift like that before.
Makes me wish I still had mine
9000 rpm with a push rod, what?
Insane
That thumbnail is sooooo beautiful.
We like it too :P
Nice build, car tail happy tho
Yeah probably only weighs 700kg lol.
@@MerlinOpeth Weight is really the first word in the title...
@@anttij2973 with driver probably 700kg
Wow that power to weight ratio is so fun, I want to know more about that awesome build, waiting more videos like this🥳🥳🍺
There´s more in the pipeline ;)
Wow, very nice car and super sound
Nice one ricky looks like fun
That thing's bad ass!!
Killer! Amazing!
drive it like a mad man! haha great sound and build.
Love your content. Hello from the United States.
Thanks for enjoying it Michael. We might have a little something from USA coming up...
Surprisingly fast for a 200 horsepower car
Its light...520Hp/ton.
Am a bit confused what the bore pitch of the A15 engine is, heard it was 82.5mm yet other sources purportedly say it was offset at 82.5mm x 90mm?
wouah!!👍, it look's like an opel kadett!!!!😀
Aberrante ça envoie du très lourd 😲
Superb
Nice car سياره جميله
Amazing still uses the 50 year old engine.
And thakes it to whole new level...
305hp per tonne.
128hp per 1 Liter.
Close to the limit, around the Ferrari 458 Italia and S2000 F20C JDM only engine.
😍🔥🔥🔥
Fast but only here on that track with many corners:)
Cool
👌💯😎
カッケー!最高!🇯🇵
Pushrod Engine?
👍
Does anybody know the name of the circuit?
New Zealand Leadfoot Festival
a 9k rpm pushrod i4seems near impossible lol
Opel c-kadett coupe copy, but loveable
👊👍🏆🏆🏆🇧🇷
このコース走ってるの何回見たけど?サニーは初めて見た…。スターレットは見たことがある。
i thinl A15 is 1.5L
とてもA型エンジンらしからぬ音してんだけど〜www
Looks like a nice place to have a picnic, until some fruitcake thrashes his car through the woods! JK good vid thanks for uploading
Well, it is literally the driveway of Rod Millen in New Zealand so you´re not wrong :P
Tires can't keep up.
日産サニーだ。
こんな古い車が・・・。
Why the wheels so tiny?
Better acceleration
While I’m sure they’re not used on this race car but the OE wheels on a 1200/Sunny were 12” diameter.
