What a touching moment at the start. Matpat told Mark that he had dedicated the power washer theory to him and Mark had no idea a video was even uploaded.
I love how you can see their personality just in the way they power wash. Mark enjoys working with big pieces such as the underside of the playground, all at once. He repeatedly goes back and forth until he finishes stuff as a whole. He doesn’t focus on the small missed spots until going back over what he might’ve missed towards the end. This is apart of the “unplanned” part in his personality type. Matpat can be seen breaking down the areas piece by piece, dividing them up into small rectangles before going back on the separated spots and almost always going in a straight line. He enjoys organizing the large picture into smaller bits that makes it easier for him to understand. He also tries his best to finish a piece before rushing onto the next. His planning part of his personality is shown through this as without the breaking down a large ball of chaos he has little to no lead on what to do next.
I LOVED this. Two people with different approaches to life but similar interests and perspectives slowly learning and understanding each other by just talking about content creation and life.
OH NO I used to rage quit all the time in Path of Exile when I had the original PS4 controllers. At some point I realized that I couldn't fix the controllers I had and got some third party ones, and my life immediately improved. If I hadn't gotten those third party controllers, I might not be here today.
The irony of Matt saying "you'll cost the show its budget" when talking about a show that famously closed _because_ of budget issues (and also the death on set) is delicious.
@@yesouioo It’s “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”. besides the budget being overkill, several actors have been injured from all the stunts needed to be done. There’s a video from a channel called “Wait in The Wings” about everything that went wrong with that production.
this conversation actually made me feel, like life exists, and these people we have watched all this time really are giving way to a new future, and its scary to think that one day so many of them will no longer be there like they have always been, its sad but there is always more, there will always be someone you can watch but those years you have spent with them is something that isnt coming back idk man, the human experience is so unique

@@ipromiseimtrying fr, all of Mat’s haters were just trying to be different, there is not a lazy bone in MatPat’s body, he’s just a passionate, smart, and lovable guy
I can't believe that here, on the Internet, there are such warm-hearted people who are encouraging of new things coming and going. This place is so huge and practically uncontrollable... But it seems somewhat safer when I hear you two speak about younger creators getting inspired. It feels like maybe someone is looking out for us on here. Thanks.
But it also does seem that small channels do have a tendency to stagnate until someone more popular tags them, showcases them or does a shoutout. It seems to be almost impossible to grow a youtube channel naturally unless you do advertise everywhere and rely heavily on click bait.
Oh ye 100% man, love listening to what people have on their mine. The text me thing bro, at least don't make it look like "ITS A TRAP!"🐠😂 Be safe everyone and have fun. 😊♥💚

I love this PowerwashPals series that's going on, just hearing the people who I've grown up watching having casual conversation about current events. It's a comfort.
Imagine mark just disappears and a few years later you see his name on the credits of a movie or he’s the voice of a animal documentary that would just make me smile seeing him doing movies and documentaries
"At some point my channel will fall-- I've practically been trying to get it taken down at this point." -Markiplier (Recent videos: "Try not to get age restricted challenge", "Stealing other people's content", "RUclips cut this content")

Mark: "I'm a muffin that has a fist in it that punches you in the teeth every time you try to go bite it, but somehow you try to keep coming back". There it is. A muffin for masochists.
It isn't for masochists. It's for people who are looking for power. For those who want to be an approaching storm that provokes black clouds. For those who want to reclaim their name. For those who were born in flames and have been blessed with a family crest that is a demon of death.
When you think about it, every single RUclipsr is *just a person,* all these people you look up to, are just people that decided to make videos one day.

This… was so interesting to watch. Unlike Mark with Sean and Ethan, who we have seen their minds being similar in their thought processes, seeing Mark and Matt butting thoughts that are similar yet so different was fascinating. Also seeing Mark realize how much Matt watches his channel in comparison to the other way around kills me 😂
The first two of these (Sean and Ethan) were two bros we’ve seen talk in many many videos before on Mark’s channel. This video is extra special because fans of Mark and Mat know how much they’ve meant to content creation. Seeing these two talking about meaningful and casual things in one sitting was wonderful. Game Theory theorizing about the games that Mark comes out with a play through of is a dynamic duo!
Man, theres something about watching this after matpats announcement. How both of these creators have grown and developed over the course of their careers as well as how they've decided to view themselves within the platform itself is truely something special.

Honestly, it's so refreshing seeing them disagree on things and still have respectable conversation. Anymore it seems like people either agree or hate each other, so this is nice to see
These two having a conversation together about life is like all the starts in the universe alligned and it's super satisfying. I love all of the PowerWash Pals videos, but this one was the one I needed the most.
YEES! I still can't believe it. The 2 most awesome people on the platform, just sitting sown and talking. SO satisfying. Feels like something was completed, that hasn't been completed for a long time.
I would sincerely love a series where these two talk. Doesn't even have to be a dedicated podcast, just a series where they hang out and talk about whatever they're feeling about.
Idk if there’s bots here or if they’re genuinely saying that, but yeah i agree. It’s interesting to see how content creators have the sense of mind that they can instantly think, or relate another topic to one another with such fluency. Scary, kind of.
Honestly, mark Just sitting down talking with someone for an hour or two is the most enjoyable content he makes these days imo. Its really nice to just put on a video as i work listening to his smooth voice talking bs with some other random content creators about whatever comes to mind. Its so down to earth in a way
When Matpat mentioned how they were peoples childhood I instantly said to myself how both mark and Matpat were my childhood and it made me realize that I have been officially been watching both Matpat and mark for almost 5 years it’s crazy cause I feel like I only just started watching them but no it’s been 5 years!!!
34:42 - The way Mat said "Mark" just felt so wholly genuine. Sometimes, even though I *know* that the RUclipsrs I watch are people, it's so different when you just have people talking just to talk and hang out and it's so different.
Mark: "My audience has grown with me." that hit me in my feels a little bit ngl Edit: Thank you all for the likes! 😭❤ also it's nice to know I wasn't the only one who got a little emotional.
About the art topic: I think a piece everyone should at least hear about is “Can’t Help Myself” by Sun Yuan & Peng Yu. It’s a robot that is constantly trying to clean up its own oil that is spilling around it, but every time it pulls some closer to itself, the rest spreads out. I don’t really know what else to say about it, I just think it’s a piece everybody can relate to with an excellent message and execution. Please check it out if you have time!
These two have always interacted with each other for years and seeing actually sit down and just talk about whatever for 2 hours is something so heartwarming because it's the first time that they have spent time talking with each other extensively
I know! It’s especially heartwarming how they’re so excited for this new “generation” of RUclipsrs! They’re acting like RUclips dads talking about how proud of their children they are :)
It's cool seeing Mark talk with all these other youtubers. I mean, Sean and Ethan were pretty much expected, I wasn't expecting Mat so soon, eventually yes. It's hard to think of who else he'd have a splash chat with. I mean obviously Bob and Wade, but Mark has 3 Peens and Distractibles with them already, it's not one on one, but they do talk about a ton of different things on both podcasts. Same with Tyler, he has that sports podcast with him. I do hope he has a chat with Pewdiepie one day though, I can't remember the last time I've seen them do a video together, it would be really interesting. And a chat with Lixian to would be great!
Unfortunately Pewds clarified that they aren't really that close anymore so it probably won't be a thing. There wasn't any beef or anything, they just kinda grew apart.
@@dagold I mean mat & mark said they haven't had a non work related talk until this video, so you never know, it's also just to talk while playing a simulator so it's not like it's asking for much
I keep hoping for Lixian to be on one of these. I love watching how they "interact" even though it's all just Lixian's editing and Lixian is great on his own channel so I keep hoping to see the two of them together for a longer video like this
14:32 Interestingly enough, what Mattpat is talking about here is actually being talked about in the writing community right now. It's becoming more popular for people to release a bunch of short, tropey books iback to back the same way one would do with fanfiction than it is for people to work on longer, deeper works. Absolutely find to do with fanfiction, it's supposed to be just for fun, and tropes are not a bad thing, so long as the story, characters, etc. have more to them than said trope. But, if you just focus a book on one trope...yeah, probably not going to be very deep. Which is also fine, the issue isn't in the writers but the industry favoring this and pressuring a lot of writers to do it this way if you want to be popular or traditionally published. So, sad to hear it is happening with a lot of different media too. I'd say it mostly has to do with the industry involved with the creations of this media rather than the creators themselves, and the fact the pressure is being put on the creators who should have much more freedom is sad.
@@RaifuEnthusiast Good point but I meant that it's better than just watching 2 guys just talking and doing nothing. It's kinda like a podcast. However, you can listen to it or you can watch the gameplay too. I think it's a bit of both podcast and multiplayer gameplay/playthrough.
@@theodoretekkers well an interview is basically an interrogation, you ask questions they answer, not everyone likes games either. But ik what you're trying to say
@@theodoretekkers I'd say Powerwash is more for them than for us. Why do you think "chill" games are considered relaxing. They clear the task-manager mind and let your brain talk to itself (or other people).
I'm late watching this but I better see a playlist on Game Theory labeled "JUST FOR YOU MARK" so Mark can catch up on all the videos dedicated to him lol
It was really interesting to me hearing Mark explain how he never goes out of his way to look for music. Personally I'm the opposite, I often purposefully seek out new music to listen to. Just the idea that something so basic to who I am specifically could vary greatly between people was sort of fascinating. It may be an obvious thing, but still I definitely enjoyed the process of realization behind it.
I used to follow some music channels & go through songs, but now unless I hear a song I like, I'll look for a bit, but if I can't find it I don't bother, even if people recommend me music I don't really listen, even though I might like it, but ig at this point if I ever feel like looking for music I can just go to those recommendations
Knowing that they've been friends for a while, have seen very few interactions between them outside of Mark's "W/ Markiplier" videos and Matt St. Jude charity streams. So excited to see what an actual conversation between the 2 of them is. (Even if it is interview style)
Coming back, now that matpat is retiring, the clues were there.... We love you matpat!!! Also those two are so fun, i hadn't even realize this was an interview!!!! Omg they are awesome!
I'd just like to take a second to appreciate MatPat's mindset (huge credits to his father), "The best thing that you can be is a student of life", "Never stop learning". (49:07). This is a belief that I greatly follow as well since it's the habit of constantly learning that kept my life colourful and overall made me a happy person.
Know this is late, but that is similar to how my parents raised me. Their motto is "there is always to more to learn about life, yourself and the world around you and it is how you understand these things that make your life interesting". They encouraged me trying as many skills and experiences from a young age, I learnt many sports and skills before I settled on the main ones I pursue now. But outside of those main skills, I have other skills I float between as I feel. The other thing they always say is "do what you love, you'll want to succeed if you do and will be more likely to succeed as you will want to put in so much more effort and time" and along a similar line "you spend so many hours working in your life, if you do what you want, you'll be happier". This is enabled me to have better experiences than my peers as my parents weren't pressuring me to do law or medicine or engineering, but spending my time in school not super focused on results, but focused on experimenting with what I love and trying many extracurricular activities and skills to figure out what I wanted to do. Then when I figured it out, I spent time wanting to do well at those activities and skills I settled on but also recognising the other skills I gave a go and understand we need people with those skills and interests and learn from the people who do to broaden my perspective of the world around me. So in a way, very similar to being a "student of life".
I’m so glad to hear Matt talk about quitting theatre and why, I relate heavily as someone who got a degree in theatre and immediately quit. Mine also had the added level of being a woman and how many abusive men prevail and succeed in theatre, even just at the level of my professors in college.
@@duckman9327 depends, technical theatre takes a lot of training and musical theatre has so many moving parts and you need to be good at acting, singing, and dancing. I was always a straight play actor bc I can’t sing, and while any old Joe can get on a stage and read some lines with some level of conviction truly understanding your character, the text, and portraying that separates a serviceable actor from a great one.
It’s always lovely to hear topics discussed in such a good setting by others that you are familiar with and interested in. Personally I’m in no way understanding of theatre aside from what I hear, but wanted to leave in a good comment aside from all the junk in peoples replies and wish you a good day :D

55:35 MatPat saying that his theories are like fanfiction is priceless

I used to follow some music channels & go through songs, but now unless I hear a song I like, I'll look for a bit, but if I can't find it I don't bother, even if people recommend me music I don't really listen, even though I might like it, but ig at this point if I ever feel like looking for music I can just go to those recommendations

What about jumping up, kicking back, whipping around and spinning?
That's supposed to be a reference to a song with over a ton (as in over a literal ton, a.k.a. "12") of remixes and i'm curious if you get what song i'm referencing; and as a bit of a hint:
It's over a decade old (thinking about that honestly makes me feel like i'm atleast over one-and-a-half times older than I actually am) and it's a childhood show to very many people (me included).
@@gameman3981 NINJAGO MY BELOVED
@@robotoorigato7288 Yup, that's correct, or if we're going to use its original title (which I personally prefer because I think that just "Ninjago" sounds boring):
"Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.".
"I'm the spicy chocolate drug muffin"
- Markiplier, 2022
the spicy chocolate drug muffin" for president 2024
Don't forget the fist that literally punches you if you try to eat it
Heh, spicy eatable 🤣
@@rinayasi But you still like it...
So a masochistic muffin?
I'm the same but I'm caramel instead of chocolate
1:33:07 Jesus christ Lixian, I just died from this sound effect man, chilling listening on low volume, then this banging loud ass sound comes in bruv
I did not expect this episode, but I am excited for it!
Who wouldn't be? It's Mark, Matt, and (M)Powerwashing
I’m Better Than Markiplier
I'm better than kavetion
These spam bots are getting out of hand I cant go to anyones comments without seeing them youtube needs to do somthing
I'm a world wide rapper i am known every where
I love seeing these two interact off each other and hope they do more in the near future, but it also made me realize I've never seen Mat and Jack interact off each other. I wonder what their chemistry would be. I'd love to see it someday.
I found you both while I was pregnant and my son has literally grown up watching "Markiplier's Scary Games" for bedtime LOL Maybe not the best choice but he loves it. He likes Game Theory cause he's always fascinated by the how and why of things
yeah definitely not the best thing for bedtime, but if he's not getting nightmares i guess it's fine
congratss!
Watching this with newer context is really heartbreaking especially at 34:00 , shows how much of a long way we have gone from the early days of RUclips huh............. "sniff" "sniff" I'm not crying
This was so delightful, thought-provoking and hilarious. All at the same time.
Also the fact that Mark name-dropped Defunctland made me SO EXCITED, glad I’m not the only one who enjoys a good history lesson on rides from yesteryear.
This series is great. Many of these friends haven't had a chance to sit down and talk at length since the pandemic started. Being able to chat and wash away the layers of dust and dirt that have accumulated over the years, and polish their friendship to a shine.
This video is genuinely really insightful, feels more like a podcast then a gaming vid! And I gotta admit I kinda love it!
Its expected honestly. This game is very chill and theres not that much to talk about it.
that's the point of the whole powerwash pals series?
@@clickstorm847 It's not. Rewatch the video where he brings up the concept.
@@Naokarma not sure what you're referring to, but the point of this series since the first episode with Jack has been to and i quote "have a free space to talk about things". Word for word from the first video. This was never meant to be a gaming series, it's a mindless activity to do while talking with people about things.
@@clickstorm847 That's what I mean. A podcast has a focused purpose. A topic, even if just for the episode. This does not. This is just 2 people chatting with eachother.
Mark invites Mat on for an interview. Mat ends up interviewing mark.
