I am a retired SWAT officer (Asst. Team leader-Precision Marksman-Instructor-Man Tracker-Rappel Master Instructor..14 year USAF SP EST/25 year State Trooper SWAT). Love the content, back in the day 1980-2011 we didn't have some of the cool guy gear you are sporting..but for years part of my loadout included a M-60 Machinegun in the trunk!!
Salomon boots are my gold standard. I worked in land surveying for about six years. When I first started working in the field, I tried cheap Wal-Mart Brahma boots. Absolute disaster. Worked up to a new pair of boots -- either Merrells or Timberlands, I don't remember -- but they were hardly an improvement. Finally, my buddy who was serving in the 1st Ranger Battalion at the time and on leave loaned me his issued Salomons (which he loved compared to the standard Big Army boots) to wear for a day at work. We had broadly similar sized feet and though the fit wasn't perfect and they were broken in for him, I could instantly tell that the boots were the most high-quality footwear I'd ever worn and definitely the best boots. I ordered a pair of Salomon Quest 4D 2 GTX that evening when I got home. They served me well for three years of hard daily use before finally showing signs of wear and tear. Great traction on most terrain, super comfortable for all-day use (nearly comparable to tennis shoes in that regard, I honestly forgot I was wearing them more than once), tons of ankle support, and totally waterproof until the aforementioned three years of use finally managed to wear them down. I ordered a pair of the third-gens to replace them and they, too, lasted me an additional three years. I still have them, though they're showing their age. Also of note: Salomon customer service is excellent. When one of the pairs had a minor issue (an eyelet came off), all I had to do was send a picture & fill out a form explaining the issue and they let me keep the old boots *and* delivered me an entire new pair of ~$350 boots. I was floored.
@@grim5547 Yeah, I ended up getting one of those after a few times where the inside of my boot got wet. No fault of the boot or its Gore-Tex -- it was due to heavy rain getting in from the top or me just walking through creeks that were too high to keep out. The boot dryer in concert with a high-powered fan blowing on the outside was a lifesaver. Wake up the next morning to nice, toasty dry boots.

Hard to believe you get five years out of Salomon boots. I am issued the same boots every year and by the end of the first year the soles have completely fallen off. I am now issued 2 pair a year I love the boots for swamps exc but they don’t hold up for me. I am a county canine handler Maybe I just train harder than you 😉
Haha no love from the K9s. I guess I should clarify. Not 5 years of daily use. But 5 years of frequent use. For patrol, yeah I doubt they would last a full 5.
One difference between a $500 helmet and a $1000 helmet is backface deformation. One will save your life and allow you to enjoy the rest of it. One will save your life only to have you drooling all over yourself for the rest of it. Don't EVER go cheap on a helmet. I'd rather have to $500 headset and the $1000 helmet than vice versa.
You say those Solomon 4d’s lasted you 5 years, as in 1 pair? I have a pair of Haix Mission’s that have gone strong for 7 years and they’re just now reaching the end. I’ve been considering replacing them with the 4d, but hear mixed reviews on their durability.
@@IronInfidel thanks for this, I think I’ll give them a try. Haix discontinued my model, and what they replaced it with doesn’t share the same features.
Most don't. Most use RG, black or even blue. But many LE departments work in rural environments, of which multicam is significantly more useful than black. There is more to it than rolling up to the house in a bearcat. There are perimeter positions that need filled prior to BC arrival, sniper overwatch, etc. It really depends on your work environment, but to think LE fall into a one sized fits all color or pattern is the wrong way to think about things.
This is how stupid the ATF is with their rules. A SWAT police officer has to use a pistol brace as a stock. I’ve seen patrol officers running “pistol” length rifles with braces in their cars. Mind boggling our actual sworn police officers can’t even run a rifle the way it’s intended because, ATF rules. Great video btw.
I don't think I’ll get an answer but I’ll ask anyway, I'm 24 almost done with my bachelor's in Public Security, my end goal is to join the FBI HRTs, I don't have any military background I'm thinking of joining the SWAT team in Puerto Rico, but I don't know if it counts as experience or do I have to move to a US state that has a SWAT team to get a valid experience to them ?

Sorry this comment just came through
Whats that Bullpup ? looks like an HK MDRX :D

@@IronInfidel uhh fresh stuff
Why would you get multicam black? For night operations? I think any other option would be more viable as actual camouflage than that pattern.
I never used multicam black or multicam for duty purposes. Our team always stuck with ranger green. Personally, I think ranger green or multicam is the better option, over MCB.
Nice video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Hell yeah! And niiice gear man@@IronInfidel
Im just looking here and going… “yup cant afford that…” haha
haha yeah it can get pretty expensive. Thanks for the comment and sorry about the delayed response.
@@IronInfidel lol. No worries. Youre a busy dude. 🇺🇸🤙🏼
How are you running a leg strap with that holster? Certain part you have to order? I’m seeing the CT2-A.
Thanks for watching and subscribing.
I love gear vids. So learning you have hours worth of videos makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.
Glad you like them. We will have more coming.
Whats the name of the gloves?
PIG Full Dexterity Gloves
The only sad part about UF Pro gear is buying from their website, almost nothing is in stock 😂😭
That tends to happen
38 seconds in, what optic is that? Is that eotech with a dust cover or something else?
Thanks for watching and subscribing.
I pay 230 bucks for boots that only last a year in the environment i work in. Luckily i get 145 towards it by the company
Much appreciated.
where in dallas, can someone find people or programs to train with?
Well I am not in TX but there are lots of good people out there. Gladiator six, sidewinder concepts and many more.
Well yes and no. And fbi study showed most the high end one ms didn't fare well when hit from the side
Does SWAT allow you to have patches on your vest
All teams have different policies. Our team was very flexible with uniform standards.
You say those Solomon 4d’s lasted you 5 years, as in 1 pair? I have a pair of Haix Mission’s that have gone strong for 7 years and they’re just now reaching the end. I’ve been considering replacing them with the 4d, but hear mixed reviews on their durability.
The Quest 4D's have held up great. Yes, 5 years on a single boot. Now that is not daily use, but pretty frequent.
@@IronInfidel thanks for this, I think I’ll give them a try. Haix discontinued my model, and what they replaced it with doesn’t share the same features.
Great video. Looking to buy a ballistic helmet. Will check out the helmet you use. Thanks brother. 👍🏼

Would the kore ratcheting battle belt work with a full patrol setup?
No that is not a duty belt rig.
I missed the link on the helmet. Where did you buy the helmet for $500 ? Thanks

Complains about $230 boots that last 5 years but has multiple pairs of pants that cost $270 each.
My boots cost 550$ and am lucky to get a year out of them. Worn at least 40 hours a week.

Beautiful uniform I love America 🇺🇸

Why does SWAT, and other LE boys, like Multicam so much?
@@IronInfidel couldn’t have gotten a better answer, thanks.
It not due to the aft rules

I don't think I’ll get an answer but I’ll ask anyway, I'm 24 almost done with my bachelor's in Public Security, my end goal is to join the FBI HRTs, I don't have any military background I'm thinking of joining the SWAT team in Puerto Rico, but I don't know if it counts as experience or do I have to move to a US state that has a SWAT team to get a valid experience to them ?
I think a basic requirement is that you know how to use grammar.
Hrt is an elite team. You'll need to do your time and work into it.
