The place where the videoclip was shot is real - it's the Neon Museum in Warsaw where are old neons from Warsaw (dunno if they have neons from other cities here) - to be exact, from the places that for various reasons don't exist anymore or when there was renovation of the buliding and the neon was removed etc. - and the neons are kept here and are being renovated here to look as if they were new ..., I haven't been there but I know a lot of people that were there and I heard it's amazing

I visit the Museum in 2018. When I saw the video today, was really nice get the memories back from that trip. Really cool place. Warsaw is a nice city to visit.

Fact: this is song is sung by a singer named clara rubensson TVP polish broadcaster brought this song from her and team , this song was a melodifestival reject too..now the demo is available on youtube and TVP is trying hard to delete all demo vids cause they know she sounds better than him 😂

Not really. This is a song from Rafał's upcoming album. He brought this song to TVP because he has been working with those composers. They also have worked with Margaret or other polish singers.

Deban, Rafał in Poland is not anonymous. He's a TVP pupil and was a host in the Polish version of "Wheel of Fortune". Right now he is a host in the programme called "Jaka to melodia?" ("What's the melody?"). He also took part in ESC 2017 National Final with "Sky over Europe".
The Polish ESC fandom hates him because of his very cringy appearance and the fact that he, as the pupil of the CEO of TVP (Jacek Kurski), had bigger chances than for example Alicja Szemplińska. 3 weeks before the song's reveal, Kurski also fired Konrad Smuga (the director of 2017-2019 performances and both JESC in Poland) and the HoD, Marta Piekarska. Due to this chaos, they bought the demo from Clara Rubensson, revamped and that's why "The Ride" is in the Eurovision.

i ended up watching his performances on the voice poland and surprisingly he's actually a very good singer!! yeah this is definitely not a ultimate qualifier but i think he could do well live vocally.. and this song is sitting nicely in my top 10!! good job rafal!!

The music video is shot in the Warsaw Neon Museum - it's a great place if you're ever in Warsaw. Tiny, but has a very pleasant vibe!

Thiss song is amazingg. Im kinda a sucker for this kind of uptempo happy music. And i totally agree with Deban. Im also in the mood to party this year. This is not gonna win the contest. There are stronger songs than this but if it makes the final than i will be very satisfied. Its certainly a song i will listen to a lot. And im also loving this video. If it wasnt for this colourful video i wouldnt know if i putted it as high on my ranking as i have now.
Why does it feel like Fyr & Flamme and Rafal are from the same 1980:s movie where Fyr & Flamme are the goofy protagonists while Rafal and his crew dressed in all black are the villains

oh, and Benny Cristo being that funny guy who's friends with either Montaigne or Fyr&Flamme and helps, supports, makes them laugh, gives good advices etc. :D (dunno, he seems to be that kind of guy XD)

Less of a ride, more of a speed bump. The song is bland and his live isn't great. Poland probably won't be gracing the grand final and it won't be any kind of loss.

There are so many hugely talented singers and plenty of singing shows' finalists with amazing voices and sensibility in Poland who already proved their talent confirmed by the support of the public, yet they are sending (as a Polish representative) a public broadcaster's pupil, a jack of all trades, a master of none (except for his confidence) without organising any fair, open selection. That's the world we live in...

I agree to William. I don't understand all the bad comments about this song. I mean, its not a bop but it does not hurt anybody. In my opinion its middle field. So not as bad as it is voted lately.
Rafał was a singer with 4 albums. Now he works more by public TV as a host. The clip was made prabobly in museum of neons in Warsaw. Nice place to visit. The song is nice, nothing special but it is no bad. Many people dont like him and the public tv so he is now hated by many people and portals in Poland.
I feel like there's the page we're all on and then there's Deban in a different book in a different library 😄.

Guys, fyi Rafał is a singer, he was in two bands (starting in 2003) then 9 years later he was in the Voice in which he was eliminated just before the final. He released few records and then he started working in medias, like atm he’s a host of the show “Jaka to melodia?”, but used to be a host of the Wheel of fortune for 2 seasons. So guys do your little research before making the reaction cause saying “oh he came without any singing experience” is a bit disrespectful. I’m not justifying him, cause I think the song itself would need a bit of revamp to lift this monotonous song, however if I was an artist and somebody would comment it like you did I’d be a bit offended.
I understand your point of view, but I believe that everyone has the right to express their opinion, whether it is positive or not. Unfortunately, I think they are right. the music is really great, love it! but, too much auto tune. I hope he manages to sing during the live. I wish him good luck from Switzerland 🇨🇭

I think they knew they we're making a laid back pop song, and it could have worked, but there is too little happening in the chorus. It also lacks a loveable detail that could have lifted it. I like your expression during it, William. :)

In a million years, finally a really decent quality musical product from Poland at ESC. Listenable, even if not valued by typical ESC fans (who cares about their forgettable tastes?). A song to probably keep on my playlist.

I agree the lyrics are messy, but I love the cool electropop '80s vibe, and the cool delivery. Definitely one of the better entries this year.
Fun and upbeat, definitely catchy, but not a competing tune for Eurovision 2021, imho. If it came out around 1999 when "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65 surfaced- might as well have been a winner then :D

As for the song, it's the most disliked song on the official ESC channel besides removed Belarus and I guess most of it comes from Poland cause no one from Polish people asked him to participate.. bring back Alicja with a better song!
Some polish people are saying that this is political but I am not sure how, that might be why there are a lot of dislikes as well

Whilst the melody is fine.....just fine Rafal's vocals are just ordinary and the lyrics are so cliché ridden. A 10 year old child could have come up with a stronger composition. It is poor!

He’s the mascot of governmental television and thats why he was selected internally. He tried to qualify few years ago and people said NO. Margaret wasnt governmental mascot and its the main reason good singers arent representing Poland. Every good performer was chosen by people.

This is not the song and the performer we have chosen - it is the choice of political, regime television TVP. We Polish fans of Eurovision have nothing to do with it :( It is not our choice unfortunately...
Unfortunately, this is not true, I am Polish and I can say that these are slander. Dissemination by supporters of a party opposed to the present government.

Song itself is quite catchy, I couldn't get it out of my head for half of the day. Rafals vocals are not very good but there is some time to work on that. Estetic of the video is nice and they need to transfer it on the stage in Rotterdam. It can qualify, but I wouldn't be suprised if it didn't.
I recommend seeing Alicja Szemplińska's songs: "Pusto", "Na pamięć". She was to be our representative, but TVP "polish government TV" decided differently.
Rafał got chosen by the head of TVP (A propaganda station for the leading party) because he works for them as a TV presenter. The song heavily reflects the head of TVP’s music taste - Disco Polo/80’s. Rafał said in an interview he didn’t have a say in representing Poland at Eurovision 🤔

always a bit of a concern when you like the video more than the song - and you don't love the video. Curious to see if they can present this on a stage that could be as remotely griping as the video. Choreo, lighting, styling all great... camera work gets a bit much at times. Nothing gripping about the song, but it's not making me want to turn it off either... but half way through I'm thinking about what's next.
