That was exactly my feeling as well.. wondering how he would react. But actually he ist not the Polish Government, so he could be completely neutral. At least he was showing good manners towards Nikkie.
You know what? Nikki has changed something for me. I have been watching the Eurovision song contest for years. And if a country that I don't like doesn't make it to the final, I don't care. But now that Nikki is putting the singers in the spotlights in this way, I actually think every participant is a winner. Even if I don't like the song. Now I wish them all the victory. Because on stage they are often very different from in real life. And Nikki shows how fun, vulnerable, nervous, funny they are. A really good concept!

exactly, this format allowed us to know contestants a little bit, not only in the performance but what their motivations are or what the people are, helped connecting
I hope Nikkie gets or makes a show (similar to this) - she is really good as a host, and I think in her own videos she is also very welcoming and that's a gift; of course her RUclips experience is an advantage but in this situation it only helps her natural abilities

Her mentioning her being transgender to him was definitely to see how he would react. The Polish broadcasters completely cut her out of last year's broadcasts.

No tutaj trzeba przyznać że Rafał nie przyniósł wstydu Polsce , był to bardzo fajny wywiad
dlaczego Polacy zawsze sie boja wstydu ?
@@nathalie228 bo jesteśmy chyba najbardziej zakompleksionym narodem w Europie.
W obronie przed tym "wstydem" wylało się na Rafała mnóstwo hejtu zanim postawił nogę na scenie ESC. Jak czytam te komentarze gdzie Polacy tłumaczą po angielsku jak bardzo Rafał jest marionetką złego PiS-u w Polsce, gdzie ludzie w Europie mają to gdzieś i chcą się cieszyć konkursem, no to się nóż w kieszeni otwiera.... Większość łapek w dół pod teledyskami The Ride pochodzi z Polski, smutne. Chociaż każdy może wyrazić swoją opinię szkoda że Polacy wiecznie niezadowoleni, robią do własnego gniazda. Trudno, pojechał Rafał a nie Alicja, nomen omen ona też jest z The Voice czyli programu "pisowskiej" stacji. Ten bunt na forum Europy jest żałosny.

@@mr.g2727 Nie chodzi o to że jest z pisu tylko że nie dali nam wyboru. Ludzie są niezadowoleni z wyboru i to raczej zrozumiałe. Piosenka może się podobać lub nie, kwestia gustu, ale szans na wygraną raczej nie mamy, nie wiadomo czy w ogóle przejdziemy do finału.

Yesss, I really didn't think his performance was that great, but he has great energy in this interview! Nikkie did an amazing job with all the interviews too
Powiem tak, no nie wyszło Rafałkowi, nie leżą mu piosenki w takim stylu, ale przynajmniej chłop gadane ma i co ważniejsze - to gadane potrafi przenieść także na obcy język. Angielski akcent ma lepszy niż niektórzy polscy wykonawcy, pozytywna energia była. Ciekawe, że ta youtuberka akurat w wywiadzie z Polakiem powiedziała że jest trans, po ostatnich akcjach w kraju to cała Europa nie ma złudzeń, że Polska (a przynajmniej rząd) jest homofobiczna i jej nastawienie do osób LGBT jest średnie a nawet wrogie. Piosenka mi się nawet podoba, styl lat 80, synthwave, ale można było dobrać do niej kogoś komu ta piosenka najzwyczajniej w świecie bardziej pasowała wokalnie. Podczas występu za dużo było krzyków do publiki za mało śpiewania (brawa dla Pana Pawła Skiby w chórku). Trochę przygwiazdorzenia, ale rozumiem wielka scena i publiczność, chłop się podjarał i starał się jak nalepiej wypaść. Tak to jest jak wielki prezes Kurski (fan disco polo i "gwiazd" typu Zenek) bawi się w znawcę muzyki i zabiera się za wybieranie reprezentantów na Eurowizję. Niemniej jednak - dziękujemy Rafał za występ, wybrali Cię to pojechałeś, spoko, za miesiąc zapomną nie łam się.

It's always interesting to hear nikkie teaching the contestants dutch words. Since I'm German I recognize most of the words, because they are so similar
I mean this year, they all know so good English! Like they all speak English, some are not fully fluent but still are bloody amazing. Like, I've never seen that before. Such a good year, everyone is so positive and feel like it is even more of support, love, and family feeling. 💙
And then there's Efendi
@@adriankiedos599 But interpreters are there for a reason, you usually express yourself way more natural and with more depth in your native language, it’s not a bad thing to want to give better answers than “it was amazing!” 😊
@@adriankiedos599 Efendi speaks English a bit, she does answer simple questions but in harder ones she uses interpreter for clarity of a message
@@MrsKoldun Efendi seems to have a quite bad interpreter though, from what I've read by Azerbaijani commentators. That's a big issue with having to be interpreted, your image isn't really in your own hands and people don't really get to know you well if the interpreter isn't really skilled.
TBH 3 out of the Ukraine act don’t, and Efendi seems to learned how to pronounce the words of her song phonetically. So good might be a stretch, but it’s nice to see people having such a good time in LookLab with Nikki

I think 'wonderful' is his favourite word lmao, but honestly being at eurovision was his biggest dream and he's so happy to be there! I remember when he once performed at my school and he was so funny and nice. It's quite amazing story because our headteacher sent message to him asking if he would like to come but she didn't expected him to actually replied and actually - you know - come. But he did and that was super sweet!

I am pleasantly surprised by this interview! There was no awkwardness between Nikkie and Rafał and it was very fun to watch. What I'm also happy abouth is that his English is quite good, which for many of our previous Polish acts was not the case. I know that it's not likely that he's gonna get through to the finale, but I'm glad that the whole team is out of isolation and they'll be able to perform tonight!

Polish entry this year isn't like a ride on a straight highway. It's more of a rollercoaster. At first, it feels pretty generic and bland, but the music video is very cool, then it grows on you every time you hear it in some random situations, after that you hear him at pre-Party and then you see the staging at the rehearsal. Now I don't know what to think about our entry but I wish Rafał all the best from the bottom of my heart. POLSKA GUROM!
