I don't know why so many other content creators omit the fact that Tom and Gus were found. The story is mysterious enough on its own. Thank you for this concise and well-researched video. It's by far the best one I've seen done on this case. 💜

Thanks Elizabeth, that's really kind. Yes, it's a bit annoying when extra details are added or taken away from things to help serve a certain narrative. We just report the facts as best we can 😊

@@curiousdark Thank you for doing your due diligence and creating accurate content. I tend to stay away from creators that report inaccurate and/or sensationalized "facts." It's a relief to have channels that I can count on to be reliably honest and factual! 💜😊

Somehow, despite literally being one of the first like.. legit 50 people to find this channel right as it wss coming out, even saying "this channel is going places and I i expect the subscriber count to grow quickly" I never subscribed or accidentally unsubscribed. Been trying to remember the channel the last 6 months, and it finally just popped up on my feed again! So awesome coming back and seeing you're almost up to 10k! Definitely think I accidentally unsubscribed, somehow, but subscribed again, now! Awesome video, man!

What's this? A new channel with less than 10k subs that will one day break 100k and which I will be able to say that I was one of his earlier supporters? Cool.

The Shining was based on Stephen King's book but King completely disowned Kubrick's interpretation and even produced a movie version of his book on his dime because he had so much contempt for Kubrick's film so it feels a little disingenuous to say King was the author of both. King had nothing to do with the movie beyond signing his name on a contract for a paycheck; otherwise a great video!

The one thing I can never believe at all is a person who shoots their own dog. I could never hurt my dog even if I was in problems I would not want to have my dog destroyed. I want to give him to another person because he is such a grand fellow so I don’t believe that he shot his own dog and he committed suicide. The first person who owned the bookshop it is obvious that through surveillance that one would be able to catch those who are coming in to the mountain areas dumping dumping into mines the most dreadful and cast genic material that kills human beings With a vigour regards Alan from down under more people go missing here never found again including all their possessions than any other country in the world. It is the most lawless you can think of people simply don’t understand how dangerous the sea is around Australia.

staged their disappearance to start a new life... I am really getting tired of this argument in missing persons cases. like, is that even a thing? have there ever been proven cases of people doing that?

    • @curiousdark
      @curiousdark  11 месяцев назад +3

I mean, plenty of people seem to have tried to fake their own deaths in the past (just did a quick internet search) so we might assume people may also try to 'just disappear' some times?
That being said, I don't think there's sufficient evidence to say this is what Keith did, he seemed to have a lot to live for and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance is a genuine mystery.

A couple of British citizens; one an MP and the other a businessman faked their deaths in recent years, due to various issues. Unfortunately both were found out.

As someone who has extensively explored the mines in Silver plume. Both adits and vertical shafts, I can attest that the plutonium theory would be very unlikely. The mines in silver plume tend to be very wet. As a result of this massive haulage and drainage tunnels were driven into the mountain to drain the mines. These tunnels still spew water today, and if nuclear waste was in any of the mines, we would see it coming out of the discharge.

I thought the same but conspiracy theorists abound. Makes more sense that the two disappearances were odd coincidences…nothing more. The last few lines of the unfinished book is telling.

Love this channel and this case is very strange. What also strikes as strange is the article that says a journalist had evidence of plutonium dumping...in 1998, so I wonder if that ever came out ,25 years later it doesn't seem to be a fact as such does it?

My thoughts are that you REALLY like birds flying in the sky! ...After that, I think these are just cases of guys ending themseleves.... I think the 2nd guy wanted to leave his book behind in a dramatic kind of way that makes the story he wrote have some kind of legenendary status.

Tom and Gus each had died of single gunshot wounds to the head. Tom’s death has been ruled a suicide. The bullets were from Tom’s revolver which he’d purchased only a few days prior to his disappearance.
We need better gun control laws here in the United States.
Thank you, CD, for this interesting and informative video. I always appreciate your work.

No we don't at all, we need to enforce the ones already existing, but that's impossible to do and only getting more incompetent the more activist leftists and etc. are hired instead of competent people, hell courts/judges don't even execute convicted proven pedophiles and rapists for bloody sakes, the "justice system" is getting weaker and going backwards and more bs gun laws aint gonna fix anything especially when current ones are not enforced because of incompetent activists nonsense.

A real mystery still, part of me after looking more into this of late watching all available segments part of me just part thinks maybe his own friend Ted Parker might be a serial killer, he is the only one with a connection to both men, but I'd hate to believe his own childhood friend would off him to, it sounds absurd but I don't know just a random out of nowhere hunch I totally hope and probably am wrong about, I just think it should be on the table is all.
