I live in Knoxville and worked dor some time on Strawberry Plains pike, though not at the time yet. I remember hearing part of this story at the time. I need to look at this story a bit more.

Instead of declaring war on the government the media got into bed with them. This was the death knell of mainstream media as well, apparently for this young man. Of course people are going to say it was an accident, they don't want to DIE!

Intriguing video, thank you. Like many in the comments I find it hard to believe that further research wasn't apparently done in this case. If you could take one of the very large pebbles shown in this video, go to an old airfield or large expanse of land and see how far that object could be propelled using some system that didn't create a sound then I'm sure the investigation would've homed in more on the cause.

My office used to back on to a small street and during summer I would throw open the windows. I was on the third floor. A car came along and reversed under my window and for some reason it must have stayed there with the engine on. The wall of the building must have funneled the exhaust fumes up to my window. I almost coillapsed and just made it out of the office door before I did so. Pretty sure people were exposed to some type of noxious fumes.

Until I see an alien craft... i do not believe any of it... it's all bollox....

The idea that there's some kind of rational explanation for this is totally ludicrous. Supernatural and ultra bizarre stuff is so difficult for people to deal with and process so they just invent idiotic nonsense about giant slingshots miles away or anything other than accepting that something otherworldly is going on.

Yes, let's just carress the stone like a woman's upper half instead of preserving it for forensics. The 1980s were a different time. But the real answer here is probably some large, homemade slingshot or trebuchet-type machine. I'd say slingshot because it's easier to build/transport/hide. No CCTV back then so setting it up wouldn't have been an issue. Another possibility is a modified crossbow.
