    • @SwitchSynthetics
      @SwitchSynthetics  3 года назад +1

      The primary and transmission oils have been completely designed for their exact use by our engineers. Yes it will be vastly better than motor oil even though you can use the motor oil we offer in all three locations. We designed the primary and transmission fluids for the riders that demand the best performance from their equipment and want to protect their investment for the long term.
      Will you see a huge difference in performance? You will see the first gear clunk goes away and you will be able to find neutral when it’s warm. So there are definitely advantages. Most riders get used to how well our lubricants perform and forget all about the typical bike issues until they hop on a friends bike to test it out. I have a list of customers that will only use AMSOIL because of the difference they noticed on the first ride after switching everything to AMSOIL.
      I can make this bet. If you’re running the Harley recommended oil and ride your bike around the block then change the oil to AMSOIL and ride the same loop around the block you will notice a positive difference in performance.

    Can you tell me why AMSoil redesigned their oil filter to a dome end bypass and leaf spring? To me the threaded or upfront bypass with a coil spring is the superior design. Was it costing to much to manufacture? Now they are just like any other average JOE oil filter that I can buy for less money. If you want to charge a premium give me a premium like no other available product and I will pay you for it.

    • @SwitchSynthetics
      @SwitchSynthetics  3 года назад

      Actually the filters still are superior. Our filtration rate at full flow is 20 microns. The competition is 40 microns. Our filters are still good up to 25,000 miles for some vehicles and 15,000 for everything else. The bypass is only if the filter is full so typically it’s not even needed. Drain back valves are still a specific rubber blend to last longer than everything else on the market.

      @@SwitchSynthetics totally depends on what oil filter you are comparing the Amsoil filter to. I have seen plenty of filters that filter 99% at 20 microns with full flow and will filter for a year. For the price Amsoil oil filters need to really be a huge step above the rest.

      @@SwitchSynthetics you are probably correct. I maybe haven't 25 maybe just 20. Not sure why in the world you would run a filter or oil for that matter that long. I havent seen any filter i would trust for 25k.
      The current longest OCI vehicle I have is 10k according to the stated OCI in the owners manual. Most specfically state changing your oil every 5k miles or at a minimum every 6 months regardless of the miles. Therefore running longer would void warranties or extended service contracts. So it would make sense for me anyway to save money on oil and oil filters and change my oil according to manufactures OCI to keep those things in place.
      So I if the only way to justify or make the cost of Ams oil products come out to realistic prices is to run them for 25k because they are just that good I really can't unless I want to sacrifice warranties or extended service contracts. Which i guess I don't want to sacrifice. I guess I will stick with my Q- state that according to 540 rat blog actually beat Amsoil anyway.

This does not mean it can be used in engines - it is merely a universally understood reference to its viscosity. Do NOT use Synthetic V-Twin Primary Fluid in the engine or transmission. Although it has the properties of a gear lube, it is NOT a specification-rated gear lube. It is designed to perform in transmissions used in modern separate-sump V-twins. Do NOT use it in the engine or primary chaincase. Consult the data bulletin (G3301) for additional information. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

    What about running 0w/50, 5w/50 or 10w/50 in a M8

      The 20w50 is recommended but another weight might work as long as it meets the requirements in the spec. The 5w50 & 15w50 are mostly for metric bikes with a slightly different spec.
