iam now using the ams oil in all three holes they have seperate formulas for the motor t rans and primary the trans has shifted better it shifts like butter neutral is now super easy and no clunking when you shift ill say the best i have used yet and its easily available my mechanic gave me good advice thanks lee
I've ran Amsoil for a long time, I use the 3 different fluids they sell for the bike, engine oil/primary/trans....never had an issue, I trust Amsoil.....everything I own has Amsoil in it, easy online site, quick shipping, got an oil for every application, one stop shop
Great video! I started using Amsoil a few years back in my 14 FLHTK, loved it. Then I bought their trans and primary fluids, what a difference. I won't use anything else. It lasts longer too. Just moved to Arizona from Illinois. It's doing well in 110 + temps out here so far. Thanks again !!
Love the content👍 I’ve been using AMSOIL in my bikes (08 Heritage - 43,000 miles and 08 Dyna - 65,000 miles until I laid her down in a hailstorm). I use severe gear 75w-90w in the tranny, primary fluid in primary and 20w-50 in engine. Highly recommend their oil. I’ve run Redline and Syn 3 and went back to AMSOIL. When my engine case on the Heritage was resealed (not an oil issue unless you’re talking about the oil leaking) and new rings were installed the tech (15 years as a master technician) said he runs AMSOIL exclusively. The argument will live on for as long as we have motors but I’m happy with the product.
I have been using amsoil Products in my 2017 Road Glide I use there Synthetic transmission fluid It works well I have a new problem finding neutral and the shifting is smoother I also use the primary fluid They make a great product
Been using Amsoil synthetic products from the day I bought my ride over 8 years ago. It just plain works. Easier shifting and stays cleaner from my perspective. Good stuff. In the summer with triple-digit temps, anything to help with breakdown of fluids are critical.
I've used the Amsoil sever gear trans fluid and it works well to quiet down the shifting and also to find neutral, but the Redline, 75-250 Shock Proof, transmission fluid works even better.
Perfect timing i contacted amsoil dealer near me already has the severe gear in Stock was just waiting for the oil filter to come it's here today just got mail my previous bike was a 2009 ultra when I put se sync in tyranny it would come out blacker than black when I had used syn castrol gear oil 75w140 it came out nice and golden brown no wear what so ever on parts
Amsoil Adam changed the tranny fluid in my 2017 RGS at the MB Rally in May. I noticed the difference immediately and I’m very pleased. The bike shift much smoother, and precise. I highly recommend this.
Sorry for the delayed reply. I've been using Amsoil Severe Gear 75-140 in the transmission on my 09 FLHRC, with 103 upgrade. Has 150k on her and still running hard. Just bought a 2022 FLHTK and going to run the same, of course Amsoil 20-50 for engine and primary. Rubber side down folks Ken
A lot of people don't realize that motor oil and gear oil are a different set of numbers 100 weight gear oil is the same viscosity as 50 weight motor oil. So the huge numbers on the gear oil aren't as huge as one would think.
I just put redline in my road glide transmission (before watching the video). I've always heard good things about the amsoil. I'm seriously considering it for my next transmission oil change. Thanks for posting the video review-
Good stuff on Amsoil Adam’s products. I was blown away with how much product he carries. I agree the thicker stuff he carries can’t hurt, certainly protects and won’t be breaking down. Not to mention his Banshee Lithium battery is off the charts great, and the lightest weighing battery on the market.
I talked to Adam about it also and I put in the 75/140 Severe Gear Transmission fluid in my 2022 FLHT and with out a doubt it's smoother and quiter. John also been doing allot of resarch and 60 weight Amsoil should be in your bike in the summer especially for Sturgis as it keeps the bike running much cooler then in the fall go back to 20/50!!!
Amsoil fluids are great in general. I definitely love using their trans and primary fluids. I think engine oil is really dependent on the conditions (temps) duration between changes. Change often whatever you do and definitely inspect the plugs before cleaning them. Thanks for another great video.
I reached out to Amsoil to ask them about using the severe gear 75/140 transmission oil in HD transmissions... this is their reply: "Richard, we recommend using either our 20W-50 Synthetic V-Twin Motorcycle Oil, product code MCV, or our Synthetic V-Twin Transmission Fluid, product code MVT, in your Freewheeler's transmission." FYI
I ran 75-110 in my 1998 Road King Classic this season. It seemed to shift a little better and finding neutral was a little bit easier. I emailed Amsoil because I wanted to know if I could run the 75-140 severe gear in my tranny and still be OK. They replied with...Amsoil doesn't recommend using Severe gear in the tranny at all. So now I'm a little hesitant about putting fresh severe gear in.
John thanks for the info ,definitely I need put this on my bike ,just install the love jugs buy from Adam after I see you video in laconia thanks again brother I'll see you in Sturgis for sure...
Thrashin ez shift inner arm, Greene bros shifter linkage, and baker truss shift lever (which is the lever in rear of linkage). That’s the formula for a solid shifting bike and resolved my neutral issues.
Yes, installed it about month and half ago on my 2020 road king special and you can feel the difference from your first shift, finding neutral is simple. The whole Thrashin bagger controls are amazing
John I’m running the Harley gear oil in my transmission, I thinking about switching to Amsoil 75-145 since I’ve switched motor oil as well to Amsoil ! Thanks again for the update…..
Hey guys. AMSOIL has a 250 severe gear as well if you really want to go that heavy. Of course being it is 100% real synthetic but a 250 it's going to be thicker but should still flow.
@cycle fanatix you did not say if it's better than just using a 50w oil or if it's better compared to any other brand Synthetic 75-140 which a lot of people already use in the trans.
I just purchased a 2023 Fat Bob 114 and want to convert over Amsoli oil cause all my buddies have Harleys and love Amsoli. What do you think. I live in California..
I’m from the south and man it gets HOT here. My thoughts on running that heavily gear oil in the tranny comes the extra heat with that thick of a oil. As we all know we sure don’t need any more heat. As you said it will help with the noise and smoother shifting.
I have 02 Sportster883, I have issue finding neutral and shifting gears will this product work? Also can you recommend a place to get it checked other then Harley. I'm in Little Falls. Please help Cycle Fanatix
a thicker viscosity does NOT necessarily make it better. It will largely depend on the tolerances of your gears and what its designed to run. A thicker viscosity could actually increase the drag on your tranny. Therefor INCREASE operating temps.
Nah sorry guys doesn't look like a harley. Give me the street glide road glide all day long but good luck with them looks like a BMW what a bee. Good stuff guys stay safe.
Absolute junk I have a 2019 Electra glide standard couldn't find neutral noise got louder went back to amsoil regular trans fluid much better for my bike
My girlfriend has been around bikes and bikers her whole life. Imagine my consternation when she touched a guys brand new harley. Turns out she new the young man and was just screwing with him. I was like honey are you trying to get me into a fight. She just giggled.
Just sp you know the Amsoil Transmission oil is 75- 110 not 75-140. Its still better than everythibg else oyt there other than Spectro oil that is 75-140 FYI
iam now using the ams oil in all three holes they have seperate formulas for the motor t rans and primary the trans has shifted better it shifts like butter neutral is now super easy and no clunking when you shift ill say the best i have used yet and its easily available my mechanic gave me good advice thanks lee
Love Sandy!!!!! "Im not someone...IM YOUR BROTHER!!!" greater words never spoken!

I Use Amsoil EXCEPT for transmission. Redline knocked out clunk by 50% and made it easier to find neutral

Did you ever try the Amsoil 75W-140 Severe Gear oil in a big twin tranny? Huge difference in the shifting etc.
Exactly what I was hoping to hear. I ordered Amsoil for the Harley Lowrider. Can't wait to try it out.
Love the content👍

I use Amsoil severe gear 75w-140 in my Tri Glide tranny for about a year now and I am very happy with the results.
Been using Amsoil synthetic products from the day I bought my ride over 8 years ago. It just plain works. Easier shifting and stays cleaner from my perspective. Good stuff. In the summer with triple-digit temps, anything to help with breakdown of fluids are critical.

I just did three hole change and used 85w140 maxima for transmission. Huge difference in shifting. Much better. Less noise too
Amsoil Adam changed the tranny fluid in my 2017 RGS at the MB Rally in May. I noticed the difference immediately and I’m very pleased. The bike shift much smoother, and precise.
I highly recommend this.
Used it for the first time today on my 07 roadking. Noticed the difference in shifting right away. Smooth asf!
Hello from Spearfish! I've been using 85-140 gear oil for years. Works great! Smooth shifting. See you in Sturgis
Rubber side down folks

I have it in mine a 14 street glide stage 4 ...it does seem smoother...and yes neutral is easier to locate...😉
My bike, Tanny (19 RG) transmission shifting got better and finding neutral got a lot better. Appreciate you John for sharing.
A lot of people don't realize that motor oil and gear oil are a different set of numbers
100 weight gear oil is the same viscosity as 50 weight motor oil. So the huge numbers on the gear oil aren't as huge as one would think.
Your last video about Amsoil convinced me to do a 3 hole change with all Amsoil. Thanks for the great info as usual 👍🏻
I use amsoil in my 2011 road glide and I experience a huge difference
I just put redline in my road glide transmission (before watching the video). I've always heard good things about the amsoil. I'm seriously considering it for my next transmission oil change. Thanks for posting the video review-

I only use Amsoil in all my vehicles, cars, trucks , motorcycles and lawnmowers for 20 years
Been using the 75-140 in my last two bikes. Love it!
I went to Amsoil 75w-140 severe gear in my transmission after 90,000 miles and it’s made a deference. 2011 Ultra limited @ 108,000 miles now.
if you are running a compensator sprocket check that, having trouble neutral is generally a sign its going bad.
JMHO the dark horse is the way to go.

Valvoline 75/140 limited slip works for me.
What about a woman's bike? Can I slap a Bro if he sits on my Fat Boy?
I use Amsoil 20w50 in my Fat Boy. Same fluid in all 3 holes makes it easy.
Thanks John, answers my question.
John thanks for the info ,definitely I need put this on my bike ,just install the love jugs buy from Adam after I see you video in laconia thanks again brother I'll see you in Sturgis for sure...
Put that in my transmission on my 03FLHRI and I love it.!!!!
Awesome Video again John
My Amsoil transmission and primary are coming in tomorrow
So hopefully it will be in the bike for the weekend 👍
Hey John, you should also try thrashin ez shift inner arm lever definitely feel an improvement with that part
Good info, but did you notice a difference when you changed to the heavy duty clutch?
Did you use the regular or the synthetic?
John I’m running the Harley gear oil in my transmission, I thinking about switching to Amsoil 75-145 since I’ve switched motor oil as well to Amsoil ! Thanks again for the update…..
Go straight to Red Line Shock Proof Heavy.....its much better in the transmission.
Hey guys. AMSOIL has a 250 severe gear as well if you really want to go that heavy. Of course being it is 100% real synthetic but a 250 it's going to be thicker but should still flow.
Is this advice just for Harleys or would you recommend it for rice burner’s 2 ❓❓❓
Love from DeKalb Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
Gotta check this out for sandstorm! Also, I have tow rope ready to go to pull mr @holyshift when we take the bikes off-road 😂
@cycle fanatix you did not say if it's better than just using a 50w oil or if it's better compared to any other brand Synthetic 75-140 which a lot of people already use in the trans.

Try bellray 85w140 very good also made for trans
I’m from the south and man it gets HOT here. My thoughts on running that heavily gear oil in the tranny comes the extra heat with that thick of a oil. As we all know we sure don’t need any more heat.
As you said it will help with the noise and smoother shifting.
I'm going to get Adam to change mine at Sturgis.
I have 02 Sportster883, I have issue finding neutral and shifting gears will this product work? Also can you recommend a place to get it checked other then Harley. I'm in Little Falls. Please help Cycle Fanatix
I definitely will try it. I will let you know. Cycle Fanatix
AMSOIL is great stuff.
i use amsoil on both my bikes for years the best
a thicker viscosity does NOT necessarily make it better. It will largely depend on the tolerances of your gears and what its designed to run. A thicker viscosity could actually increase the drag on your tranny. Therefor INCREASE operating temps.
i am going to try amsoil 75-140 in the trans, im also going to try it in the primary, i will post the results at a later date!!
Is there a motorcycle specific Amsoil severe gear 75-140 transmission oil, or is it for both cars and motorcycles?
Yes
I have been searching for this very thing,so you are not receiving any benefits from Amsoil?
The Stuff Works Grate
Nah sorry guys doesn't look like a harley. Give me the street glide road glide all day long but good luck with them looks like a BMW what a bee. Good stuff guys stay safe.
Next time try Redline Transmission Fluid with Shockproof. It’s a 250 weight. It’s the best oil I’ve ever used in the tranny.
Eeeee it's borrowed motorcycle so it'll be fine. 🤣😅🤣😎
👍
100% amsoil
Red Line Shock Proof Heavy is way better for the gearbox.
I can't find it on Amsoil site
I found it
I didn’t notice any difference 🤷♂️
Absolute junk I have a 2019 Electra glide standard couldn't find neutral noise got louder went back to amsoil regular trans fluid much better for my bike
My girlfriend has been around bikes and bikers her whole life. Imagine my consternation when she touched a guys brand new harley. Turns out she new the young man and was just screwing with him. I was like honey are you trying to get me into a fight. She just giggled.
no offense but Schaeffer oil is a much better option than Amsoil.
Just sp you know the Amsoil Transmission oil is 75- 110 not 75-140.
Its still better than everythibg else oyt there other than Spectro oil that is 75-140 FYI
