    What a great video Jason. As you may know, I really enjoy when you ride along with Matt & Billy. Garnetts are a top notch operation for sure. Been watching them for years with ya👍🏻👍🏻.

      I was surprised to see the option too. It is amazing how auto steer has developed over the past 20 years. I saw Deere auto steer on this farm in June 2003 on a 9520. At the time it seemed like an interesting option. Now it is a must have.

      500 acres per planter per day, 5 days and they're done.

      @@lynwessel2471 was referring to the amount of land. That’s around 48sq km I think when I put in into a calculator.

      @@joelg8004Yes its fairly large for a row crop farm, but so are a lot of them. Several nearby me in Southern MN that are 10- 40k acres corn/soybeans.

    Awesome kit at work on Billys farm, hes some man.....not sure the two track is more comfortable than the 9RX but hes happy in his Fendt...if it is he needs a Quadtrac 715 😅😅

    Farmer in the USA would be my dream job. Only few days work in spring and than waiting for the harvest in autumn 😁

      There are also other chores: maintenance, repairs, and etc.
      It is not an easy business to be in.
      Farmers are the only folks that buy their necessary supplies at retail, and sell their produce at wholesale.
      That said; No farmers, no food... and I, for one, like to eat.

    I wonder if the harrows could be pulled behind the anhydrous applicators to save from having to go over the fields again with the harrows.

    Up in Northen MN we run conventional tillage and I have a John Deere 5115m on my 7000 4 row planter. It would take me approx 10 years to put that many acres on one row unit. Lol

    Why are they not using the high speed option with the planter tractors? This would enable them to run up to 10 mph if the conditions are right.

      We don’t have the right conditions in this area. Too many line stone rocks and rolling ground.

    12 thousand acres is about 18 and three quarter square miles.

      That's all corn ground ,got wheat ground too and it's double cropped with soybeans, I can't fathom that much of a farming operation!

      This farm raises 12,000 acres of wheat, corn and double crop soybeans following wheat. They crop 36,000 acres of grain as well as some hay and cattle.

    Wonder when a John Deere 710,770 or 830 will show up.Ironically JD can put 4 track 9RXs but cannot put out a 2 track tractor the size of the Fendt 1167.Deere made 2 track tractors for 19 years before a 9RX ever appearred.

    Tracked tractors look so much nicer on 120" spacing. It appears Billy has abandoned the 9R6XX wheeled tractors this year in favor of all 9RX machines?

      They went to all 9RX tractors in 2019. They first 9620RX arrived in November 2017. I think in time the planting/grain cart tractors will go to tracks.

    Not high speed planters? I'm surprised at how slow they go. Ivers Farms single 2150, 24 row Red planter I've seen go as fast as 12 mph, and it's singulation and overall stand of corn after they're done is unsurpassed.

    With auto steer on the ends, the tractor turns but the steering wheel never moved.

      12,000 acres...and they have 3 tractors for every 2400 acres. One to till, one to harrow and one to plant.

      If you review this video at 17:30 you will find the 9R 440s are set up with full automation to the point they turn themselves around. They just run the row marker on the first boundary pass around the field to ensure they are staying on track on the second boundary pass with gps. Basically it’s an insurance policy to keep an eye on the path. The rest of field is done with out marker arms.

      The turning mechanism. Is all internal. Some farm machines are moving to joystick control and removing the steering wheel completely.

    The Fendt tractor has half again more horsepower than the John Deeres.

      No their big rx's are 640 HP. Fendt is 670, but it only has 670 when the PTO is used, otherwise it's around 620 used for pulling.

      Cost. The tracks are great for tillage. At some point the smaller 4wds will probably go to tracks but it has not happened yet.

      @@bigtractorpower I still don’t understand why they can’t use the tracked ones for planting. Or do they already have that many tractors and just don’t want to put planting hours on then tracked ones? Seems like a lot of tractors when some could do both jobs.
