I have a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Awd 2.4l. I know you dont take them off road but my little 2.4L Awd vehicle actually made out of a very messy rain soaked mess. I learned some things watching your videos. Thanks for what you do.
I just watch this review and purchased a 2018 2.0T AWD Ultimate. One thing you didn't mention is the tailgate will open if you stand behind it. You have to turn this feature on. This will allow the tailgate to open when you stand behind it. It will beep 4 time and open, but the car has to be locked and remain locked during this process.
Thank you Dave, great review! My fiancé just bought a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T AWD yesterday. Looking forward to seeing what it's like in the coming weeks!
Dave.. Been looking at your videos for some years. Very well done, casual and entertaining. You always go the extra mile to explain a bit more about things. Thank you for your dedication and self enjoyment in what you do. God Bless!
I own one its been 2 months now and im loving it. It handles very well. Very smooth. I have to be honest when it comes to gas i will say its below average. Overall i love it. Perfect SUV FOR a family of 4
Is spare tire exist? , HD radio? , Remote control Start? , Double glass ? , Windshield defroster ? , Adaptive cruise control support "stop and go" ? or just alert warning ? Lumbus support 4 or 2 direction?
it's not up to him what trim levels they get. he's a car journalist so he's just going over the features, it's called advertising. but if you subtract all the features in this car to only the basics, that's pretty much the base model. so it's pretty much the same car, but with less features. im more familiar with Toyota, GM, Ford, Nissan, and Honda when it comes to trim levels. Hyundai, Mazda, Volkswagen, and Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge have some odd trim levels, but im sure there base models aren't much different than there top trim levels. i know Toyota, GM, and Ford the most when it comes to trim levels. but there's no reason to complain.
On our 2015 Santa Fe XL, if you stand behind the tail gait with the fob, it would beep automatically then open. Nice feature when arms are full. Surprised the Sport doesn't do it or does it?
We are only averaging 18mpg. Very dissapointing for a 4 cyl. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too! Car is quick and fun to drive. As someone who has back seat passengers on a regular basis, I can tell you that Hyundai needs to fix that rear cup holder. When your passengers leave that cup holder out it rattles like crazy!!! Minor I guess, but very annoying.
DANIEL ALEXANDER I don't know what u have decided on, I own one and it's suspension is very hard, your really going to feel literally every bump and imperfections on the road it literally sends shock waves through the cabin or it's primarily for the 19" allow wheels on mine as we only have the top of the line in Bangladesh
Great review! My wife and I just had a rental Santa Fe with the three rows, so a lot was similar. It really is a nice vehicle. What's interesting, the second row in both is actually a 40/20/40 split. I found the release on the back side of the seat, which is odd placement. Thanks again for all the detailed reviews!
Good reviews as always but one thing i wanted to point out, the rear seats do have the ability to slide forward and backwards to create more leg room so that part of the review is inaccurate. I should know, i have the '15 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T Ultimate AWD and you did point out that feature in one of your previous reviews of that vehicle.
How is the sound system in this in this sport? Is AWD better than FWD also if you happen to know what is maintenance is like expensive or Avg? It sure is a sexy lil Auto, may be my next purchase. Thank you for the demo, it's exactly what I'm looking for!
great review u should have Hershey in more of your Reviews I wish all car reviewers we as good as your reviews, the Reviewers we have here in the UK don't seem to be as enthusiastic and fun as your reviews
Very ...make that an extremely good review. Thanks for posting. Hey, is there a usb or power outlet in the back seat area. And how many usb ports in the front console area? Thanks.
YS Ro Hyundais have poor resale value. It's a fact. Go look at a 2010 civic for example - it can cost maybe $9000 . Then look at a 2010 elantra - you can probably get one for 1/2 the price of a Honda Civic
Brian Lawrance You can get a lightly used 2017 base model for $20K (original sticker $27K). My (retired) mother got one yesterday (I haven't seen it yet), 24K miles. She got it to replace her Jeep that was recently totaled in a wreck (other driver turned into her, head-on).
Brian Lawrance We're talking about 2018 Santa Fe not 2010 Elantra and you said maybe and probably for civic and Elantra. So I searched here and there but I couldn't find those prices. Can you show me where I could go and see? I bought 2017 Honda CRV LX all wheel at $24,400 (out the door price) two month ago in Virginia and I don't like it. If anyone wants to buy my CRV (2,800 miles on it) I would sell it at $22,400. I'm gonna go for Hyundai Tucson or Santa Fe. I think Honda is not an old time Honda any more and Hyundai is getting better and better and it would reflect resale value too.
This or stick with Forester? I feel good about my 2015 Forester but Subaru certainly cuts corners in little bells and whistles and comfort IMHO. It has great capacity but I like Hyundai has more backseat adjustments. And the cargo organisation looks very functional in three Hyundai. Forester basically only has it's reputable AWD, slight edge in fuel economy. I haven't actually test drove this Hyundai yet but hoping to find a slightly used one with AWD and not sure if turbo is necessary. Interestingly my Forester is not turbo but it has a slight jolt at the starting line. But of course that torque Peters off quickly.
Considering this for my next vehicle - Can I fit a bike in the back with the seats down? I know I could probably lay it down, but I'm specifically looking to be able to stand it upright (most likely with the front wheel off). Is there room for this? I want to put more than 1 bike in there, so that's why I need them to be upright.
Small engine for a large car, poor fuel economy for a newer car, weak power, horrible handling with the electronic steering, but it's got a bunch of safety features. Unless you're driving around kids daily, what's the point? Golf clubs fit in sports cars too.
@@baseballhunter42 No I do not, but thanks for your input. I simply added a period that I thought was necessary after posting the comment. Keep trying to get away from the point though.

Hi I'm considering a 2018 Santa Fe sport to do some cross country driving here in Canada. How has the vehicle held up 6 years later?

2018 Santa Fe 2.0T has 264 HP and the back seat split is 40x40x20 split. You can put down the center for skis or snowboard or a 2x4.
Bill Speeroff wrong, engine was detuned from the 264 hp in the 2016 model 2017 has 240 aswell as 18 for reliability

I own the 2017 2.0T FWD Ultimate 19 inch rims and nooooooo problems so far and it's been a few months + sports rack!
This is exactly what my first car is going to be in three years, I love it😊
It's been 3 years, did you end up getting it?
@@jackveech4941 I also have to know!
Thanks for the review! Just what I was looking for as I am scouting out buying the exact model you demo'd.

Wish these videos would cover base models as well as they do with the top tier models. Some people have to make do with the base.

I'm complaining to the automaker not the video maker.
Nice review. Seems like you liked this car.
Dave, I'm glad you showed golf clubs. Do that with every crossover you test. Will it hold 4 sets?
On our 2015 Santa Fe XL, if you stand behind the tail gait with the fob, it would beep automatically then open. Nice feature when arms are full. Surprised the Sport doesn't do it or does it?
It does!
The Sport does this also you have to set the smart tailgate.

Another great review Dave.
Great reviews, always looking forward to the next one :)

Great review! I just purchased A Santa Fe sport 2.0 Ultimate a few months ago in Canyon Copper and am really enjoying it!
glad it's working out for you.
I'm thinking of purchasing this exact same model, only I hear bad things regarding the suspension. Can you elaborate!

id like u to include if possible whats it like in the back for dogs as I have 2 dogs and sometimes the size of the car can be deceiving in size
Is the panoramic sunroof standard on this trim level?
How about providing some information on turn radius, how it handles, what the suspension is like, etc. Don't just read off the car specs sheet.
MY Wife had hyundai sonata se 2013 but next car is this wonderful model very nice car i like it
Pretty sure you can move the rear seats on the ultimate model? Handle underneath
Great video, when do you think the santa fe will be redesigned?
