This album is probably one of my favorite releases from 2023. I actually found their music earlier in the year, and I've been absolutely hooked ever since. I definitely plan on doing another Johnny Booth cover in the future.

Love Johnny booth, a close band to my local scene (Albany Ny) JB used to come up from the Amityville /Long Island area every time they put out new music. The drummer used to be in an awesome local band called surrounded by teeth. Super stoked to finally see Johnny booth getting the recognition they’ve deserved for years! Hell yeah.

Fucking hell Anup.. that was one hell of a one take recording.
Haha! I wish this was one take. I usually record anywhere from 3 to 8 full takes and just comp everything together. I do make sure to match video and audio, but it's definitely comped between multiple takes and I can't take that much credit. \m/

Quick question. Do you memorise all the exact drum parts for these songs or do you get acquainted with the tune and play what you fill like playing?
I don't know the bands/songs you cover hence the question

Usually depends. If the drumming has a lot of technical parts that make it a staple for the song, I do my best to play as close as possible to the original, or exactly as the original. This song is a good example of something that has a lot of sections you can interpret however you feel. There are main drum patterns from the original song I stuck to, but I definitely don't play it exactly as the original.
