Finally I know that it's ok that I argue with myself and talk to myself, I'm akward and can tell people are wigged out when I'm around, it's like my chaotic energy rubs off on them, but I am harmless it's just my ADHD brain.
Ren doesn’t fit in a box. He is a rapper, guitarist, singer, storyteller, songwriter, actor in one video with a man and his guitar. In a room. I have never seen a musician do this all especially live! He is a Genius! PERIOD! I love Ren! He fits no Genre.

The guy got a contract from Sony when he was 17 - was suppose to be "the next big thing" and then he got Lyme disease and his record company dropped him. He has gone through 10 years of pain, loneliness, and psychosis. he has a video talking about it. you should check out his song "sick boi".

Ren posted this update on his health on Friday, 27, January 2022: "I don't know why I find it so hard to share this information, I guess because I never wanted to make my health problems my identity, I feel like Ren the person is so much more than Ren the health victim, but if this journey I'm on can help anyone else going through the same thing, its worth swallowing my pride.
A lot of people have been asking me for my treatment update, and ive been replying individually but then getting a lot of emails and messages which is quite overwhelming to try and respond to them all, especially during treatment, so I'd be super grateful if anyone sees comments on my videos/posts etc asking how treatments going if you could point them in the direction of this post.
I've been treating here in canada for the past week and a half now.
I sat down with the doctor and he explained last week that through all the extensive testing he did back in October, including lots of blood work ups, X-rays, samples etc. and MRI scans of my brain that the damage to my body from a having misdiagnosed Lyme disease and autoimmunity was quite extensive. There was significant damage to parts of my brain and many inflammatory markers in my body.
The obvious markers of pathology were antibodies to the myelin in my brain, thyroid, adrenals, and bones and a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder which would explain my symptom picture quite well. To put it simply my immune cells have been attacking my own body. Because my immune systems been compromised by years of basically being at war by itself it has also held on to some long standing viral infections and not been able to detox things like mold/heavy metals/and toxins properly.
Initially the plan was to be here for 3 months but because of the complexity of what's going on he's said i'll need to be here for 6 months minimum.
It's a lot to wrap my head around having to be away from friends, family and a successful career and almost feels like a total juxtaposition to the fact that my music is blowing up right now and spreading to all corners of the world, but thats life, we take the good with the bad.
The good news is because we now know what's wrong, we now have a road map for healing. I know its not going to be an easy path, but I know its one i'm determined to walk.
I had to quit smoking cold turkey last week for obvious reasons while going through treatment which was one of my crutches for when I was stressed, so have felt the withdrawals messing with my mood a bit this week, but I've got a solid reason to quit, so I'm just bareknuckling it.
I'm currently going into the clinic for IV's every Monday to Friday for an hour, firstly trying to build my body up by correcting all the nutritional deficiencies that were found due to being on a restricted diet for so long, and also implementing a lot of stress reduction techniques to get my body optimised for healing. Also found some low grade inflammation from some dental problems so will be going in for surgery to correct that in February to ensure there's nothing contributing to inflammation in my body. Once i'm in a stronger place to deal with it I'll start treating with antivirals and more aggressive treatments.
The most positive thing, is I looked my doctor in the eye, who is used to treating countless very complex cases, and asked him, if there's a chance I can get back to being in a pain free body with the energy of a healthy person, and he said if I stick to this, there is a good chance I can either get my autoimmunity into remission and recover or at least make enough improvements to live a much more comfortable life.
Want to thank everyone for supporting my music because that's been the best silver lining to this I could have asked for, reading through comments of support for Hi Ren and Sick Boi has really elevated my spirits, and having an exciting future to look forward too makes this process much easier, so thank you!

Great reaction! From what I've heard from other channels, Ren caught lyme disease from a tick bite and was misdiagnosed for 10 years suffering much physical and mental pain. He is now getting treatment.

Please explore more of Ren's music. You will soon find how versatile of an artist he is. So many genres and styles. Check out "Sick Boi" next. It's his newest release after Hi Ren. A little background on Ren. He became very ill and was bedridden for almost a decade before finally being properly diagnosed with Lyme disease. He eventually got a stem cell transplant which enabled him to start living life a bit more. He is currently in Canada for treatment to hopefully gain full health.
Sick Boi isn't very good honestly. It's one of is weakest offerings. Money Game Part 2, The Hunger, What You Want, Chalk Outlines(Live version) or even Jenny's Tale(Full) are a much better representation of his range and writing.

I’m so glad you reacted to this video. It’s made a big impact on my life for some reason. I’m a 54 year old woman. Who would think that this song would resonate with me so deeply. I struggle with those dark voices daily. I loved that he put out this work of art. It was theatrical and deep. It’s universal to humans. Thanks again. I love you guys.
I’m in my early fifties too and it’s amazing how many older people absolutely love this song and are so impressed by Ren and his music. I’ve lost count of the amount of reaction videos I’ve watched of Hi Ren and I’m still not bored of the song. A lot of people have become disillusioned with modern day music in general and I honestly believe Ren is the artist the worlds been waiting for for a very long time.

Holy smokes! I’m 54 and thought I was the only one. I speaks to me for the same reasons but different. I have chronic spine issues after 3 surgeries I feel it. It’s a daily struggle to get out of bed. Asia n BJ’s videos help. Love you guys! ❤
He busks with a band called The Big Push in Brighton. I've been blessed to catch them a few times and they are nothing short of amazing, but Ren is seriously a creative and dedicated artist with genre bending skills that are mind blowing

Last week I listened for the first time to Ren, now I´m an addict. Hit me like a sledgehammer (and I usually don't like rap/hiphop and so on) But this is just... pfff... wow. Beyond. Reminded me when I was 8 and listened to Slayer for the first time ann when I was 17 and listened to Tom Waits. This is special. Very, very, very, very, just incredibly very, very good.
I get it. Exactly the same. Just like hearing Led Zeppelin, pink Floyd. I love Ren. So grateful I got another WHAMMY in music.

Ren doesn’t make commercial music. He makes art that excites an individual’s brain. It is cerebral and it makes one think. Inside of ourselves is a light and a dark and we have to have both to balance ourselves out. Crazy but true. Great reaction as always! 😊
This poor guy is currently in Canada undergoing a special treatment for his autoimmune disorder. Thanks for doing this because this song is so inspiring and the entire world needs to hear it!
I think it's important to add that the autoimmune disorder he has had, from when (I believe) he was young, is Lyme disease, caused by a tick bite. And Lyme Disease has been, if not still is, one of the most difficult disorders to properly diagnose and/or to cure. And it's a HORRIFIC and painful disease to have to live with. Unfortunately for Ren, he apparently spent years without having been properly diagnosed with this disease, the doctors did not pick up on it:

Muscle and joint pain can migrate from one body part to another. Patients can feel sick one day and well the next. Left untreated, Lyme can wreak havoc on the body causing arthritis, persistent joint pain, cognitive issues, neuropathy, encephalitis, exhaustion, tremors and sometimes fatal heart problems."

@Al Brand In the link you posted, he says that he has Lyme disease that went undiagnosed for years and damaged his body and general wellbeing as a result. It doesn't say that Lyme was a misdiagnosis, it says that it went undiagnosed.

As someone that has struggled with mental disorders and cPTSD for most of my life, this really speaks to me and what I struggle with on the daily. It’s taken having a non verbal autistic son late in my life to persue getting the help and knowledge to help myself as I learn more and more how to care for my son. I think everyone should learn about mental health and how it affects people, even if you don’t suffer from it yourself, in order to help understand/show caring for people who do. I knew the moment I watched this video when it was first released , that i was not watching a Musician, or a street performer, or a pop star. I was watching what I believe to be pure , performance genius. A renaissance man. Sheer bloody poetry in art, sound and vision. This guy will never be mainstream, because too many want top 10 hits , and vacant empty talent less idols to glamorize. He is simply too cerebral for the masses. However in 100 years his name will be legendary. Honored, studied by scholars , and artists worldwide, and forever remembered with the likes of Mozart,Hugo , Orwell , or Poe.

He turns his head to his left when he’s talking as the darkness, and to his right when he’s himself talking to the darkness. Also the light get weird when he’s talking as the darkness.

All of his music/performances are amazing He recently released a tune called Sick boi which seems almost like it's Sistering this tune but its a raps about his experience with the health system medication etc It's also very catchy I been sharing it will all my neighbours this week ;-)

i've lost the majority of my musical mobility to this stroke i had at the beginning of the year, i've been playing music since i was four, and now i have to almost start over. this struggle to get some of it back is one of the things that draws me to you and B.J. i see the understanding and raw love of life that makes you a lighthouse on the shore when you can't see land!

Yeah, maybe it has been done before, but it hasn't been done by *YOU*, your spin on things, your view on the subject is completely original to you. Greater than the death of flesh, is the death of hope, and the death of dreams. (
I don't care who you are, you change over the course of this song. At some point in the song, the veneer drops away and the human beneath shows through. All the pretenses and ruses that we keep up to protect ourselves from getting hurt vanish. And that is why the speech at the end is so powerful for the listener and the watcher, because Ren really does expose the human being beneath with his words. An amazing piece of art.

I like to think that this is the classic story of the angel and demon sitting on your shoulder. Us as humans do not have the power to conquer the evil, the sin, in our hearts. We must ask GOD for the strength to resist it and to guide us through our troubles. Thank you both for this excellent reaction and thank you Ren for this beautiful piece of art.

He is from my home town, and I have seen him busking a lot. He is as good live on the streets as he is in his videos. A HUGE talent. Also check out 'The Big Push' which as his old band. Fantastic stuff.
Great reaction. IMO it’s the duality of all of us, between your inner voice then he points to the facts that the negative is Lucifer and the positive is like Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Both eternal at war in us. We wrestle not against flesh, but wickedness and principalities in high places.
Just had to comment and say...I could look at Asia's smile ALL damn day and be content with life. BJ has to be one of the luckiest guy on the planet
Ren is the next musical genius.
Basically the beginning of the song is his Evil side talking him down and telling him he can't amputate it - which is true because we are all good and evil.
The middle of the song is when evil get so upset with Ren arguing with it that it takes over as Ren's dominant personality.
Then the last part of the song is the Good side, the godly side, rising up and saying that Evil cannot have him because Good is just as much a part of Ren also, and the two sides must work together to make his life better.
And then at the end Ren is singing and dancing and the evil is flashing the lights chaotically, signifying that they are indeed all joined and going to work okay together. And that is what we all must do, as human beings, we must accept that we are both a Good and Evil, and work with that.
-At least that is what I personally took away from this piece amazing music theater.
Incredible talent!
One thing few are aware of is that Ren was signed by Sony right before he got sick!! Some of our most impactful artists over the last few yrs pack a punch by allowing us to become part of the journey... best understood by those arriving late by taking the journey themselves... Ren is very much like that yet so very different in that one time period moves us in such a way that we want to know more but to dive straight to the start feels wrong.. letting each layer of the onion saturate and cleanse before the next smacks you in the face (which they all will do) while important isn't confining in that each layer has so much to it that you don't have to finish it to move on ... you just have to be ready to add more everyone reaching that point at different times while their appreciation of this beautiful create and the gift his is gains respect and admiration and inspiration and motivation .. and even self realization!!
And this couldn't come at a more important time .. just as each layer that came before.
Ren is currently here in Canada where he undergoes ingestions daily and will under go surgeries in an attempt to once again over power the illness threatening his life... an endless battle due to no cure
Ren is doing his best to stay in touch with his followers and wants nothing more then to give more of himself.... Rens treatments are not covered and this trip is going to be over twice as long in intensive as expected ... while fighting for his health trying to work would not only be exhausting it risks being counter productive... don't get me wrong if he has something he feels needs to be put out nothing will stop that. But this is where we come in... liking sharing supporting providing a safety net so work isn't necessary or needed to pay for the fight while in the midst of it.
