On the occasion of our presentation of "Claes & Coosje: A Duet," this film brings together insights from those closest to the artists' work to shed light on the philosophical, aesthetic, and artistic dialogue that drove Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen's sculptural collaborations.
Featuring anecdotes from Mary Ceruti, Frank Gehry, Marc Glimcher, Kasper König, David Platzker, and Oliver Shultz, the film emphasizes the dynamic exchange that led to the creation of some of the best-known and most beloved public sculptures in the world, while considering the historical undervaluation of van Bruggen’s contributions and the ways in which she pushed the boundaries between artist, art historian, curator, and writer.
