For someone living in a Midwest small town where no good museums within one hour drive, these videos become my weekend art walks. And, it’s so interesting to see how the displays are done. Thanks a lot.
I love this so much! It's so interesting to see the behind the scenes of the museum. And it's nice not having added commentary or anything. very chill to watch.
These vids could be 10 times longer and I would love them more!
I want that "Oof" piece
Ed Ruscha. Got some cash?
Love this portrait of a living museum - including its motifs of stillness and movement... how art and museums can embody timelessness (permanence) and change! Can't wait for more episodes!
I love these behind the scenes videos at the MoMA. The passion and concern for the works is moving. Every detail is executed with the utmost care. Bravo to all who preserve and care for these treasures.
This was a real treat to watch. Loved it.
This is so Awesome! We never get to see behind scenes of the gallery, Thank you so much for sharing! So engrossed in it, mesmerized, as if I am in the gallery when it stopped !
This is very cool. Images of images and the people who manage and look after them. Love that there is no voice over narration and the scenes are allowed to speak for themselves. So to speak.
Watching this series again because I loved it the first time. Would love to see another one as well.
It's so interesting to see some of the mega work that goes on to create exhibitions, move art around and restore it. Thank you.
What an attention to detail, even those Kjaerholm daybeds are pieces of art !! Thanks MoMa for sharing this
Oh, man, how I love this series. Soothing to see and interesting to calmly watch. A great work. Kudos to the ones that filmed/created the videos. These are really different
To all the people of MoMA: thank you for what you do. Behind only the clergy, it's the very highest level of service to mankind.
Thank you for making this interesting preview to the official opening available for members to see. I have hung many art shows
and it is always challenging to do it well. I am so impressed with your challenges with the new MOMA and look forward to the October
reopening.
Greetings and a very emotional thank you to MoMA for this great gift.
Wow, this is really fascinating :) I eagerly await episode 2.
I really need to go to museums and see these works of art in person. It is a little disheartening to know I will never create anything as great as some of these works of art and also mind blowing to know all of these works of art pale in comparison to the beauty of Eleanor. Life is the most amazing creation. And life keeps producing more life and creating more art and music. Such a warm feeling to ponder that 😊
More of these. This was great!! 🙌🏾
Very insightful, thank you!
Thanks for sharing this! This is so inspirational and rewarding to see
This is like a Frederick Wiseman documentary. Thank you for making these!
Thanks for the comparison, Blake! We are fans of Wiseman. (In fact, many of his films are in MoMA's collection!)
Fascinating behind the scenes look at what it takes to put together an exhibition. Thank you very much for the disclosure.
Looking forward to next episode!
This is fantastic. Keep it up!
It's terryfing to work with such masterpieces. I'd get anxious.
4:22 the so called conservationist literally ripping the garment over the mannequin head xD what a laugh
Whoa This is so impressive. As always one of the visitors , I wondered behind scene of the place and sequence.
This reminds me of "The Office", but the MoMA version. I would totally watch that show.
there’s something strange about all the pieces with MoMA.... but comparing with “night at the museum”, this is probably less scary
0:29 OOF
my favorite museum
this vídeo makes me calm !
More please! behind the scene packing and conservation most of us don't get to see that.
Fascinating!
This video is awesome!
Great! Keep it up!

Really nice idea for video series! Thank you! One thing I don't get thou is why is this restriction on taking photographs?
Preservers in action
you are cool MoMA, I like you, I hope I can visit you one day.
Do you have a full woodworking shop for the building of custom crates to ship the artwork in?
7:06
YES.
Every time I ENCOUNTER his piece at that corner, I thought why is this here lool
Cool
Sacred relics
Fascinating! But the episodes are way too short!!! At least one hour should be good 👍🏼
super
It takes a huge amount of patience to clean and repair art works in the museum
The Square is a sanctuary of trust and caring. Within it we all share equal rights and obligations.
Very interesting to see the behind the scenes of installing art. I'm curious how old some of this footage is because my wife and I traveled all the way from NH down to MoMA for a day last year (2016), with the expectation of seeing Andy Warhol's Soup cans all together like I just saw in this video. We were very disappointed to find they were not on display then and now I see them being taken down again. Which means when we come to NYC again, for this Thanksgiving, we will still miss seeing them. What gives MoMA? I understand you have to keep things fresh, but timeless art should be displayed for more than a minute!
Does anyone know what they use for their labels? (Label board type, print method, etc )
I just want the leather benches.
How can I get a Job like this? Any 2018 summer internships?
hi Sharrod, we offer seasonal and 12-month internships in a number of museum departments. You can learn more (and apply!) here: mo.ma/2gTRjX3
Thank you for the link! I am definitely looking forward to reading up on it as well as applying for MoMA internship.
So like how do I go about getting a job here?
There will a be day i end up here sooner or later

After watching this series of clips, look at the 2020 BBC, 6 part series 'The Victoria and Albert Museum : Secrets of the museum. In Europe we conserve; in America it seems more like you just curate.

Why are some individuals in this feature wearing gloves when handling art while others are not?
Thanks for the great question, David! One of our conservators will have an answer for you during our Live Q&A this Wednesday, March 14 at 3:00 p.m. ruclips.net/video/GU_VsIT4bbc/видео.html
